Hike from your back door! Adjacent to Giant Sequoia National Monument, there are literally miles of hiking without having to drive anywhere.

Newly remodeled, this 1800 sq. foot solar-powered hilltop cabin and 500 sq. foot guest cabin sit on a very private, gated 2 acre estate bordering Giant Sequoia National Monument in the Southern Sierra, just 12 miles from the Giant Sequoia groves at Balch Park and 8 miles from Springville.

At 2500 ft elevation, the treed park-like grounds have 360 degree views looking out to Mt. Dennison, Blue Ridge and the valley below. The home has two queen bedrooms, living room with sleeper sofa, love seat and sofa, two bathrooms, full kitchen with bar and breakfast area, formal dining area and game room.

Outdoor areas include a wrap around deck, covered back porch with seating, deck with seating by pool and seating pool-side.
The pool is fed by spring water and pool chemistry is kept strictly balanced for hygiene.

Pool heating is available for an extra fee October, November, April and May. Heating is not necessary June-mid October.

Guest cabin is open plan with high ceilings, lots of windows and large skylight. It features a King and two twins, kitchenette, wood stove and bathroom.

A comprehensive hiking and recreation binder is provided at the house with maps and descriptions of local hikes, Big Trees, swimming and fishing holes, waterfalls, and scenic drives and horseback rides to help you plan your time.

Dog owners can take their dogs on the leash onto the Giant Sequoia National Monument trails in this area as opposed to the National Park where dogs are not allowed on trails.

This upscale vacation home boasts everything that you are looking for to provide a fun, peaceful and relaxing time for your family or small group of friends. An open plan with high, exposed beam ceilings and plenty of comfortable seating create a pleasant social atmosphere. Clerestory windows and French doors bring the outdoors in and provide plenty of light. The beautiful spring fed swimming pool will keep everyone cool and entertained in the summer, and the wood stove will warm winter evenings.

The Master Bath has been recently renovated with antique vanities, a claw foot bathtub and a travertine double shower with rain shower heads. Little luxuries like Wifi, DVD library, high thread count sheets, plush towels, down comforters make this luxury cabin extra special.

The game room, with classic billiard table and tournament quality Foosball table, and outdoor ping pong table hoop-shooting and tether ball provide fun without ever having to leave the property. When you do venture out, there are lakes, rivers, waterfalls, winter snow and big trees only a few miles away.

Avoid hectic tourist crowds and discover the quiet beauty of the Giant Sequoia forests, rivers, lakes and waterfalls in Balch Park and Mountain Home State Forest within Sequoia National Monument. Ride horses among the Giants, hike, fish, bike and cross country ski. This cabin is located near the quaint village of Springville with restaurants, shops, local entertainment, a new park and visitors center.

The only down side was our time limits. Bear Creek Cabins are CLEAN, Stylish and located in a beautiful setting. There were 3 families and we all agreed we would return and tell our friends about this fantastic property.

The cabin is beautiful, more beautiful in person than the pictures....it is modern and peaceful and full of nice amenities like toys and games and dvd's and books. Warm and cozy and the property is beautiful. It's just a short drive to the Trail of 100 Giants, which was amazing. The owners are kind and full of great information about things to do in the area.

I suppose if Mary Poppins were to rent/run a vacation rental, this would be it. The amenities were great, the pool table was great, and the BBQ was great! Four adults and one puppy dog were sad to leave, but we all hope to return soon. the house itself was immaculate and the pictures are all very accurate in showing how rustic and charming the cabin is. The owner responded to all of my emails and incessant questions, so that is also a plus!

Our family had a wonderful time on this property! The main cabin is very spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped. We enjoyed the pool and the kids had plenty to do, even played some ping pong and pool! The guest cabin is equally nice and spacious.

We spent a week on this wonderful property in July. From a 5 yrs old through a teenager to grandma, everyone had something to enjoy here. We had to reorganize our hiking-plans as the kids did not want to leave the pool and the game room :-) The house was neat and clean with a lot of charm, and it had everything we needed. The backyard was well maintained. We loved the quiet days, and at night enjoyed to watch the Milky Way and the stars. Overall, one of the best vacations we have ever had - we will return for sure!

I recently took a one week vacation with my wife and baby girl to the Three Springs Ranch near Springville, CA. We went with another couple and their baby. It was the most relaxing, fun, nature filled trip! The house was incredible. Fully stocked, beautifully furnished with a game room, a pool and the property line was the National Forest! We brought groceries with us and we each took a turn cooking dinner each night. During the day, we went on new backpacking destinations each day. We hiked incredible trails, saw giant sequoia trees and waterfalls and wildlife. There were no crowds, ever! Just our little group amongst the endless nature surrounding us. We can't wait to go back!

My family and I had an incredible time. The cabin was perfect for our extended family. Everyone was very pleased with everything in and outside the cabin. The cabin was stocked, very clean and well maintained. The property is on a great location. Our girls had an amazing time playing in the game room, while the adults really enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Wished we could have stayed longer. Thanks so much for this wonderful experience. Sandra Navarro, Bakersfield CA

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bear Springs Cabins. The accommodations were clean and the floorplan is open and homey. Our two teenage boys definitely enjoyed having the guest cabin all to themselves. They hooked up all their electronics and kept their snacks in the refrigerator...preparing them for college dorm days! The spring fed pool was a welcomed relief from the heat and the pool table occupied all of us in the evenings. The night skies were awesome...something you don't see in Los Angeles often. Both cabins were well equipped and all in excellent condition. A great time was had by all and we will be back...maybe try one of the other cabins available.

We all had a lovely time at this property, it was clean and well kept and met with our expectations according to the photo and description of the cabins. The owner was helpful and friendly and allowed our daughter and children into the property before check-in, since they had to leave the LA area early because of the "carmagedon" upheaval that happened to occur on the weekend we had planned our get-a-way. The only problem was that the restaurant we planned on eating at was closed until further notice, so we can't recommend any eating places nearby. We would certainly recommend this property to friends and we plan on going back sometime in the future.

I planned a hiking trip with friends and the cabin and guest house worked perfect for the group of 8 of us. The cabin was better than it looked in the pictures, a rare occurrence from other vacation homes we have rented. The house was stocked with lots of extras which was a pleasant surprise. The location was perfect with easy access to hiking. Also, the pool was very welcomed after a long day on the trails. All of us in my group would definitely go with this cabin again for future trips to the area. In addition, prior to arriving, Shelly was VERY patient with all of my questions and offering advice on the area.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2008

About the owner: I, my husband Matt and son Sam live at Three Springs Ranch near Sequoia in the Sierra foothills. We have an ongoing experiment with sustainable farming and hike, camp and travel when we can get away. We live here with our goat herd, chicken flock, 2 dogs, large veggie garden and 2 orchards.

                  Why the Owner Chose Springville:
We loved this beautiful area of the Sequoia/ Sierra that is closest to the LA area but largely undiscovered by tourists. After we committed to the "simple life' and moved from LA, we thought it would be great to use our skills from building sets in the film industry to recreate some neglected cabins that had great locations and lots of potential so that others might be able to enjoy this rich area comfortably. The Bear Spring Cabins seemed like the ultimate set up for a fun vacation rental: new pool, private location with views adjacent to Giant Sequoia National Monument, architectural interior, and room for a game room. It needed a lot of upgrading and finishing but we had fun making the place into a mini family resort.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The siting of these cabins on top of a hill with views and millions of acres of public land next door make it an ideal retreat, but is a short drive to the Giant Sequoia groves and the charming town of Springville.
