**SPECIAL** Free pool heating (if needed) Oct and May with a 3 night or longer stay (Holidays excluded)

**SPRING BREAK SPECIAL** Free pool heating in APRIL for stays of 4 nights or longer.

There are 2 cabins on this property. The main cabin sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms and 2 on a sleeper sofa in living room and has 2 full bathrooms. A guest cabin is available for an additional charge which sleeps up to 4 on a King and 2 twins and has 1 full bathroom. We rent out this property to only one party at a time. The property, pool etc. are never shared with anyone else.

A long time spring along the old Jordan Trail, Bear Spring is now the source of water for this beautiful and unique vacation cabin, guest cabin and swimming pool. For peace and quiet this rural property (not in a resort development) cannot be beat.

Hike from your back door! Adjacent to Giant Sequoia National Monument, there are literally miles of hiking without having to drive anywhere.

Newly remodeled, this 1800 sq. foot solar-powered hilltop cabin and 500 sq. foot guest cabin sit on a very private, gated 2 acre estate bordering Giant Sequoia National Monument in the Southern Sierra, just 12 miles from the Giant Sequoia groves at Balch Park and 8 miles from Springville.

At 2500 ft elevation, the treed park-like grounds have 360 degree views looking out to Mt. Dennison, Blue Ridge and the valley below. The home has two queen bedrooms, living room with sleeper sofa, love seat and sofa, two bathrooms, full kitchen with bar and breakfast area, formal dining area and game room.

Outdoor areas include a wrap around deck, covered back porch with seating, deck with seating by pool and seating pool-side.
The pool is fed by spring water and pool chemistry is kept strictly balanced for hygiene.

Pool heating is available for an extra fee October, November, April and May. Heating is not necessary June-mid October.

Guest cabin is open plan with high ceilings, lots of windows and large skylight. It features a King and two twins, kitchenette, wood stove and bathroom.

A comprehensive hiking and recreation binder is provided at the house with maps and descriptions of local hikes, Big Trees, swimming and fishing holes, waterfalls, and scenic drives and horseback rides to help you plan your time.

Dog owners can take their dogs on the leash onto the Giant Sequoia National Monument trails in this area as opposed to the National Park where dogs are not allowed on trails.

This upscale vacation home boasts everything that you are looking for to provide a fun, peaceful and relaxing time for your family or small group of friends. An open plan with high, exposed beam ceilings and plenty of comfortable seating create a pleasant social atmosphere. Clerestory windows and French doors bring the outdoors in and provide plenty of light. The beautiful spring fed swimming pool will keep everyone cool and entertained in the summer, and the wood stove will warm winter evenings.

The Master Bath has been recently renovated with antique vanities, a claw foot bathtub and a travertine double shower with rain shower heads. Little luxuries like Wifi, DVD library, high thread count sheets, plush towels, down comforters make this luxury cabin extra special.

The game room, with classic billiard table and tournament quality Foosball table, and outdoor ping pong table hoop-shooting and tether ball provide fun without ever having to leave the property. When you do venture out, there are lakes, rivers, waterfalls, winter snow and big trees only a few miles away.

Avoid hectic tourist crowds and discover the quiet beauty of the Giant Sequoia forests, rivers, lakes and waterfalls in Balch Park and Mountain Home State Forest within Sequoia National Monument. Ride horses among the Giants, hike, fish, bike and cross country ski. This cabin is located near the quaint village of Springville with restaurants, shops, local entertainment, a new park and visitors center.

Come for the Springville Sierra Professional Rodeo and Jackass Mail Run Weekend in April, wildflower touring March through May, bull riding events in August and Apple Festival in October.

I don't think I could have picked a better vacation rental for our trip to the Sequoias. This house has charm and privacy with a view of the mountains. The pool table and foos ball table were awesome after a long day of hiking. If we lived in California, I would return to this place as much as we could. Great getaway from it all.

Old friends gathered at this lovely home that was comfortably appointed inside and had a variety of scenic seating areas outside, as well as a refreshing pool, gas grill... in short, everything for a convivial week among friends. We drove to a variety of hiking trails each day that weren't crowded even at the height of the summer. The owners really tried to think of providing every comfort and succeeded!

Our family has used many VRBO and other vacation companies for our trips over they years. This transaction was so completly organized and quick. Thank you Shelly for such a simple and easy experience! the Bear Springs home was so comfortable and had everything we needed, and then some. The beds and furnishings were so comfortable and there is plenty of room to spread out, inside and out. We especially loved the pool! And the kitchen was so spacious and had everything we needed. There is such a peaceful serenity here. We had fun touring the nearby mountain areas and visiting the big trees and hidden falls. The roads are windy, we have a 4WD Suburban, but there were regular cars wherever we were... Springville was closeby as well as golfing and Porterville is not too far either for major shopping, etc. Thanks again Shelly! Enjoy your stay to all who decide to book their time here!

I arrived with my two boys in the late afternoon. The owner sent information about shopping for groceries ahead of time but I missed it as it was a late booking. This means that I ended up buying groceries in Springville -- very expensive and not much in terms of selection or fresh vegetables and fruit. The fresh meat didn't look appealing. Buy in Porterville. The beauty of the property, on the other hand, made up for this lack of insight on my part. The place matches the pictures advertised -- clean and beautiful, and the amenities are fantastic. There was nice soap in the showers but I wish there was shampoo as I forgot to pack any for my family. Also, everything you need is available in the kitchen, but, again, if you don't want to pack coffee for a few days, it would have been nice on the part of the owner to provide that considering the daily cost of staying there. I had to go back to Springville to buy coffee -- a five-mile drive -- although the kitchen did have a french press and coffee grinder, which is a plus. So, my kids and I enjoyed our stay by hanging out around the property, swimming and making use of the game room -- you have to drive significantly to get anywhere worth visiting -- the tiny waterfalls up the mountain (forgot what they are called), or Sequoia National Park. If you want to relax and enjoy yourself in a mountain area without much driving, this is the place!

Wonderful house! Everything you will need is here. Although the owners were out of town during our stay, they kept in touch via email. We locked ourselves out and the realtor came within 30 minutes of our call. Of course we did not panic, as we had the pool to entertain us while we waited. I will definitely stay here again! We went up the hill to hidden falls, went down to town for ice cream and mexican food, and drove 2 1/2 hours to the national park to see General Sherman. Worth the money. One missing item in the kitchen was a crock-pot! But, I'm sure had I called/emailed ahead to the owners they would have provided one for us.

My wife, daughter, and her friend and I had a marvelous time during our stay. Everything was as described. The kitchen was well stocked with all the needed utensils, cooking gear and spices, etc. The beds were comfortable and the spaces generous. The amenities like pool table, games, etc. made our time not spent in the park more fun. The suggestions for groceries and clear driving instructions made our trip hassle-free. We will definitely make this a return location!

The cabin is beautiful, more beautiful in person than the pictures....it is modern and peaceful and full of nice amenities like toys and games and dvd's and books. Warm and cozy and the property is beautiful. It's just a short drive to the Trail of 100 Giants, which was amazing. The owners are kind and full of great information about things to do in the area.

I suppose if Mary Poppins were to rent/run a vacation rental, this would be it. The amenities were great, the pool table was great, and the BBQ was great! Four adults and one puppy dog were sad to leave, but we all hope to return soon. the house itself was immaculate and the pictures are all very accurate in showing how rustic and charming the cabin is. The owner responded to all of my emails and incessant questions, so that is also a plus!

Our family had a wonderful time on this property! The main cabin is very spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped. We enjoyed the pool and the kids had plenty to do, even played some ping pong and pool! The guest cabin is equally nice and spacious.

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2008

About the owner: I, my husband Matt and son Sam live at Three Springs Ranch near Sequoia in the Sierra foothills. We have an ongoing experiment with sustainable farming and hike, camp and travel when we can get away. We live here with our goat herd, chicken flock, 2 dogs, large veggie garden and 2 orchards.

                      Why the Owner Chose Springville:
We loved this beautiful area of the Sequoia/ Sierra that is closest to the LA area but largely undiscovered by tourists. After we committed to the "simple life' and moved from LA, we thought it would be great to use our skills from building sets in the film industry to recreate some neglected cabins that had great locations and lots of potential so that others might be able to enjoy this rich area comfortably. The Bear Spring Cabins seemed like the ultimate set up for a fun vacation rental: new pool, private location with views adjacent to Giant Sequoia National Monument, architectural interior, and room for a game room. It needed a lot of upgrading and finishing but we had fun making the place into a mini family resort.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The siting of these cabins on top of a hill with views and millions of acres of public land next door make it an ideal retreat, but is a short drive to the Giant Sequoia groves and the charming town of Springville.
