This newly remodeled waterfront Quonset cottage on Narrow (Pettaquamscutt) River in South Kingstown is a haven for those who want to wake up, walk out the door and onto a private dock where fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, on one of the state's most beautiful waterways are all right in your back yard. The mouth of the river and the Atlantic ocean with beautiful sandy beaches are a short paddle away, and an even shorter motor by boat or car.
The Pettaquamscutt is one of Rhode Island's premier fish and wildlife resources. The fishing for striped bass, summer and winter flounder, hickory shad, and bluefish are all excellent. The river is a prime destination for fly-fishermen, who can take advantage of its miles of shallow flats and marshes. Birdwatchers and naturalists will also enjoy viewing the river's abundant wildlife from canoe, kayak, or the back yard.
The cottage is fully furnished, including washer/dryer, sleeps five, and has new cabinets in a small but fully functional kitchen. There is a beautiful view of the water out of a large bay window in its ample living/dining room, and there are a picnic table and grill for outdoor dining. It is minutes from historic Narragansett Pier, beaches, and shops, and just a minute down the road from Narrow River Kayak rentals. $800/week, $600/weekend only. |
