had a nice stay, the owners were very attentive to our requests for use of their beach ammenities. the location was good only about 200 ft from the beach...weather was a little cold, but not the fault of the owners. loft was clean and functional there were 5 in our party and sleeping was fine. we had a great time. Disney was only about 20 minutes away so it made it easy to rotate from days at the beach and days at disney.

Recommended for:Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I know Seal Beach well so I was happy to see that we'd be staying in the far south end of Old Town. This is the quieter area. It may be a bit more of a walk to Main Street, but it's worth it. This is the cleanest, most well appointment rental I've stayed in. It is beautifully decorated and the kitchen has everything you need to cook a full meal. The parking is a bit tricky but who needs to park more than once when staying in Seal Beach! It's only a one bed/one bathroom but you could easily sleep 4 people comfortably and more if you need to. I'll certainly be back again.

Don and Carol are terrific hosts, providing helpful information and fresh vegetables from their garden! They provide a beautifully furnished apartment that accomodated my family in perfect comfort. Location was great, a short and enjoyable walk to Main Street and steps from the beach. Very tranquil in the evening as well. Just the sound of the ocean breeze every night to fall asleep to! I highly recommend the Bamboo Loft for a great time at the beach.

Great Family Beach Vacation

The Bamboo Loft was a great place to stay for a family vacation. We have four very active children, and the accomadations were perfect. The location is perfect also, steps from the beach and a short walk to Main Street, where there are numerous restaurants, shops, and good coffee. Don and Carol were outstanding hosts. The kids (and myself) really enjoyed using the boogie boards. The tomatoes from there vegetable garden were delicious. Also, our kids loved their dogs. The bamboo Loft is a great place that we would recommend to anyone.

We really enjoyed staying at the Bamboo Loft. There was plenty of room for our family of four. Day bed and pull-out couch in the living room worked great for our teenage son & daughter. Don provided great recommendations for restaurants and groceries. Quick, safe walk from the loft to the beach and downtown. It's located in a quieter part of the LA area, but still easy access to the freeway.

The Bamboo Loft was the perfect place when I decided to return to the beach where I grew up. It was a quiet retreat that allowed my daughters and I to reconnect and enjoy some down time. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. The Bamboo Loft was exactly as it was described, although larger than the pictures depicted. There was plenty of room for the four of us. Don and Carol really make you feel compfortable and are available to answer any questions that you may have. Thanks for everything. I will definatley be back soon.

Don & Carol were wonderful hosts! We were just a very short walk from the beach and minutes from disneyland. Easy access to stores, freeways. We were 2 adults and three teens and we fit comfortably in the loft. Lots of comfortable seating and the kids had a blast on the body boards. Not sure what to do when you're down there or where to eat? Ask Don and Carol! A++++

Perfect Get Away

We loved our stay at the bamboo loft recently ! It was everything the listing described and more. The place was very comfortable, spacious, clean and well supplied. There is lots of cupboards, storage space for suitcases and very comfortable for sleeping. It was a perfect location ! A few steps from the ocean and downtown seal beach for shopping. Close also to take in the sights: minutes from Disneyland, Newport Beach, and Lugana beach. I would highly recommend this ! It was a great place to come back to after days of seeing relatives and sightseeing. very quiet and relaxing ! Thanks Don and Carol ! We want to come back again in the future .

Another visit to the Bamboo Loft and another visit I didn't want to end! Seal Beach is an awesome place to spend a month and being able to stay at a place that feels like home like the Bamboo Loft makes it just that much better. Don and Carol are great hosts and have done a wonderful job creating a very relaxing home away from home. Highly recommended!

Our stay at the Bamboo Loft was quite relaxing, nice quiet neighborhood, some weekend warriors working in their garages on Sunday, a little noisy, but not overwhelming. I think staying during the week would be more quiet. 1/2 block to the beach, minutes walk downtown, room to store bikes. The apartment was roomy with plenty of ambient light. The bed was comfortable, we slept well both nites.

We spent a week in August at the Loft. The location is ideal, close to LA (but not too close), Anaheim and the beaches south of LA. The owners are super helpful and nice people as well. The four of us (2 adults, 2 kids) fit perfectly in the place. You can easily walk to the town of Seal Beach in minutes. Much better than a hotel and having the kitchen is a real plus. Our three sons are well into adulthood, and this was, I'm sure, our last vacation together with just the five of us. Was a homecoming for us - my wife and I grew up near here and this was our favorite and closest beach. Perfect for what we wanted - centrally located for spots in LA and Orange county, short walk to beach, short walk to shops and restaurants, yet very peaceful setting. The pictures are realistic, but the main living area was probably nicer and roomier than we thought before arrival. Didn't need to bring much- stocked up on groceries after arrival. I think just the two of us will return in the next year or so.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bamboo loft July 6-10, 2010. It's beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. Short walk to downtown Seal Beach along the boardwalk and only 1/2 block to the beach. We are a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids ages 4-11) and thought we had plenty of space. Visited Disneyland too and it was only a 20 minute drive. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time, the loft is very cute and was able to support the whole family (2 adults and four young children). The owners are very accommodating, they even covered our kids surfboard so it would not be damaged by the sun. The location is excellent, literally 50 feet from the beach. Short quarter mile walk and you will be on the pier or shopping on main street. We plan to stay again.

We had a great stay at the Bamboo Loft and the owners were very kind and friendly. The property was beautiful decorated and very clean. The rental is very close to downtown Seal Beach, the pier and the beach of course. This is a great place to relax and get away from the noise and traffic of L.A. At the same time it is close to a lot of attractions, so it was a great starting point for our sightseeing tours. The Bamboo Loft surpassed our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our one month visit in Seal Beach. The Bamboo Loft is everything it is advertised to be and then some. It is a short walk to a fabulous beach and just a few minutes more finds you at the heart of Seal Beach and all that it has to offer. We have been going to the Seal Beach area for years. This was our first stay at the Bamboo Loft, hosted by Don & Carol. The accommodations were nicer than advertised and equally important, just a block off the beach and about 10min stroll to the boardwalk and Seal Beach amenities. For any of you considering the Bamboo Loft, I hope your stay doesn't interfere our plans to return next year!!

Thank you so much Don and Carol for a lovely apartment in a beautiful city. The accommodation was even lovelier than described and very comfortable for our family of four. Everything we needed and more was provided. The loft is indeed steps from the beach and only a short terrific stroll into town. The town was our very favorite of those along Pacific Coast Highway--just the right mix of beach,character, restaurants, shopping, and accessibility to Disney, LA, surf sites and much more. The neighborhood is neat, friendly and safe. The Bamboo Loft is a perfect landing spot for a great time in Orange County. Thanks again for the hospitality.

Our recent visit to Seal Beach was absolutely perfect. The Bamboo Loft was so much more than we expected. We have stayed in rentals on the beach. It looks nothing like a rental. Don and Carol have maintained the property so well that you would never know you were in a rental. It's extremely clean and perfectly decorated. It was very spacious and plenty of fresh ocean breezes to cool off in the afternoon. Steps to the beach and restaurants. Thank you Don and Carol for sharing your home with us! See you soon!!!

The Bamboo Loft was exactly what my wife and I were looking for! It's very warm and welcoming and so much better than a hotel room! The Bamboo Loft was fabulous! My parents stayed here over the holiday weekend and had a wonderful time. Carol was the most gracious host and even put a Christmas Tree in the unit! It is a wonderful, quiet location that is close to all the fun Seal Beach has to offer. I would absolutely recommend staying in this lovely beach rental.

My son and I stayed in the Bamboo Loft in September for 4 days while my son played in a nearby tennis tournament. The loft is in a great location, and we were able to spend lots of time on the beach and around the charming town between matches. Carol and Don were wonderful hosts.The loft is very clean and well appointed. It’s a great place for a getaway, and I plan a return stay soon-- this time with my wife. We highly recommend it.

Que bonita! Located right by a sparkling white beach, warm water and lovely waves (especially for you boogie boarders), my stay at the cozy Bamboo Loft was highlighted by the friendly caring hospitality of the owners, Carol and Don Marr, who made sure that our every need was provided for. Thankfully, "The Bamboo Loft" was everything it depicted in its VRBO description. It was decorated beautifully with thought and care and not just with items unwanted from a main house. The bed was wonderful, as were the rest of the furnishings/amenities. Seal Beach is unique in that you can park your car (at the rental) and walk to the beach and downtown area. The hosts were helpful, non-intrusive, and just all-around nice people. 1st class rental and owners! Thank you Don and Carol. The Wallin family

My son and I stayed at the Bamboo loft in July after returning from a three week stay at a camp in the San Bernardino Mountains. The cozy, clean and well appointed Bamboo Loft was just what we needed. Our host, Carol, provided everything we needed including a DVD player, beach equipment and towels, surf board, and a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit upon our arrival! She was always accessible and took very good care of these two weary travelers. The Loft's proximity to the beach as well as downtown (7 blocks) meant that we didn't need a car. The beach was clean and uncrowded, and the downtown area had a plethora of dining and shopping options. We had a great time and will definitely come back to this quiet little town in 2009.
