Comfy House

Comfortable, clean, good location. Kitchen very well-equipped. Pouring rain and howling winds meant we spent a lot of time indoors.....

Great Location

Guest: Ryan (West Richland, WA)
Date of Stay: 04/03/12 Review Submitted: 04/11/12

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Pacific City! This house was great. Once we got there, we didn't need to drive anywhere. Everything is within walking distance. Pub, coffee, market, beach... The house is clean, has a wonderful fireplace (bring your own wood...the wood they sell at the market is garbage-quick burning, low heat and moist), The basement has it's own entry, so it's great for two families. I hesitate to give a great review because don't want the availability to go down! But this place deserves no less than 5 stars... we will be back!

The location is great. We were able to walk to the restaurants. Our kids really enjoyed the ping pong table and the beach across the street. The house very clean and comfortable. You can sit and watch the surfers from the window of the ping pong room. We had beautiful weather and great surf while we were there. Hated to go home but we will be back.

This was a great place to stay. The description of the home was accurate. The home was clean and had all of the amenities we needed during our stay. We enjoyed the fireplace every night as we brought our own firewood. We were very close to the beach and next door was the Pelican Brewery. Area is quiet, and lots of beach to roam. Many of the restaurants were closed as it was the "low season" but we like to cook in so it wasn't an issue for us.

Perfect house for 2 families and their kids

Guest: Michelle (Aurora, OR)
Date of Stay: 12/30/11 Review Submitted: 01/03/12

This house is set up perfectly for two families and up to 2 kids per family. The floors and stairs are not squeeky! The ping pong table provides a lot of entertainment. The kitchen is kind of small and it is tight between the eating bar and table but overall a great place to stay with a comfy couch, chair and 1/2 and fireplace. You are close to all the action by Cape Kiwanda and can see surfers from the top level.

Christmas fun

Guest: Ed (Salem)
Date of Stay: 12/23/11 Review Submitted: 12/27/11

We had an excellent stay at this VRBO home for a Christmas Eve family get-together. While we cooked turkey and ham, family members walked the beach on a beautiful, bright, winter day. The home was well furnished, with a large room for dinner. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook dinner. We plan on returning in the summer for a family vacation.

The house was at perfect location- next to the Pelican Brewery, accross from the market, coffee shop, and just cross the street to the beach. The house was clean, well maintained, and had all the amenities. We had a wonderful time and will definitely come back.

Vacationing with family

Guest: Chad (Portland, Oregon)
Date of Stay: 11/03/11 Review Submitted: 01/28/12

We had a very nice stay at this house and plan to go again on our next beach trip. The house was very comfortable and clean. The kids LOVED the ping pong table (so much we ended up getting our own for Christmas). The price seems very fair. That said, I think the location is what tops the house for me. The Pelican Pub across the street provided delicious food and beverages. And it's hard to top being a short, quiet walk from the beach with an awesome view of Cape Kiwanda. We all got great exercise climbing up the sand hill- where we got an even better view and photo opportunities. As for now, it will be our favorite coastal destination. .

Our Vacation Was Spectular!!!

Guest: Arizona, Desert Rats (Quartzsite)
Date of Stay: 07/16/11 Review Submitted: 08/05/11

My husband & I met our son & his wife at Pacific City, this year to kick off our vacation, we have never rented a vacation home before, even though we have been coming to Pacific City for 20 years. Using our Thousand Trails member- ship. No offense to TT but there is no comparison to the vacation home that Scott Hugging & his family makes available to rent.It is spacious, private & we immediately felt at home, we will all be back year after year. The beds are so comfortable & we tried as many restaurants in the area that we could, but next year we are going to also do some cooking in the complete kitchen availabe as well as some BBQ's, so get your time set before the dates are all going, the word is out about this great place. The Woodards, from Arizona.

Best Bargain Around!

Guest: Couple from White Salmon WA (White Salmon, WA)
Date of Stay: 10/23/10 Review Submitted: 10/31/10

Clean, great location!,exactly as advertised, generous amenities, everything works!, VERY reasonably priced. We are an older couple with two dogs. We travel a good deal. We aren't fancy but expect a property to be as advertised. We've stayed in many VRBO's around the world and this particular unit is among our top 3 properties ANYWHERE. No...it is not the most glamorous...however it is nicely appointed, the owners are VERY VERY generous with amentities, ex. kitchen, bath, laundry etc. It truly feels like you are staying in "their" home (and you are!). The fireplace was excellent, the view was good. Being able to walk right to the beach in seconds was fabulous. They even have a great "wash-off" shower situation outside so no need to track sand in the house. If you like nightlife, you're next door to the famous Pelican Brew Pub. Personally we were very comfortable staying in. If you are a techy...not to worry...the owners have provided EVERYTHING you could possibly need to keep you in touch...wifi, ipod dock, big screen t.v., dvd player, stereo. And then for some old fashioned fun you can get into the ping pong room. There are games, puzzles, and magazines. Do bring your own movies if you're into that sort of thing. All in all this is by far the best bargain we found in the entire area. It's a large home, very comfortable and oh did I mention the soaking tub? Old fashion claw foot tub! Very relaxing after a long hike on the beach. I give these folks "6 stars" not 5. Thanks to them for owning the property and making it available to others for use. We were grateful and absolutely plan to return. The couple from White Salmon, Washington :)

great vacation rental

Guest: Pdx Motorcyclist (Portland, OR)
Date of Stay: 09/12/10 Review Submitted: 09/17/10

We had a wonderful time staying here with our dog. Just 1/2 block to Pelican Brew Pub and across the street from the beach. Nicely stocked kitchen (toaster oven and coffee grinder, plus the usuals.) Plenty of space. Fenced back yard for the dog's bed time potty break. View is mostly limited by the houses across the street but there is a view from the breakfast bar. We definitely plan to stay here again. Owner seems very nice and was easy to work with. Stairs are a little steep for mobility impaired people.

Great house, superb location just a few steps from the beach. Family friendly with bunk beds for the kids, books and toys. The fenced yard was great for the dogs. Close to restaurants and grocery store. Everything we wanted was in walking distance. I would recommend this house to other families.

Just awesome!

My friend and I recently stayed two nights during the week in this house...and loved it!! The photos tell the story...the ping pong table was perfect for a little friendly competition, and the beach really is about 15 seconds away!! And how can you not run up the hill on the beach! It's an amazing view once at the top...and really fun to run down and back up again:). I have already showed this property to my family, and we are hoping to be able to use this house for a family get-away! This house was just perfect...and we have already talked about going back at some point...I would love to stay here again! How nice to just park the car and walk everywhere we needed to go!! Thank you so much! We had a great time...and I'm sure I'll be back! :)

Perfect!

Guest: Robyn A. (Walla Walla, WA)
Date of Stay: 04/12/10 Review Submitted: 04/21/10

My husband and I rented the home for 1-week and absolutely loved our stay. The home is comfortable and spacious. We could walk to a variety of amenities. The claw foot tub was the perfect treat after a long, cold walk on the beach. The king bed is extremely comfortable. We sat looking at the ocean for hours on end. The only thing that may be a problem are the trucks pulling in to the near-by restaurants very early in the mornings, so if you are a light sleeper, this may effect you, but we would honestly recommend the home to anyone and are planning our next visit already!

The location could not have been better for the wedding we attended at the Pelican Brewery. The set-up of the house worked out perfectly for our group - everyone could not have been happier with the rental! It was clean and well stocked with things like paper towels, toilet paper and dish soap - all that you expect from a house rental.

6/12/09 We had a small family renunion and the house was perfect! There was plenty of parking, lots of yard space to utilize between beach trips. The view to the beach was great. Being able to sit in the game room with your coffee in the morning and watching the waves was perfect. Backyard is completely fenced so you don't have to worry about kids or dogs escaping! Appliances/decor/furniture were very up to date and cute! A Surfers dream. The owner was very helpful, and eager to make his place the best! Even when we had an appliance issue on the weekend, he immediately had a handy man there to address the problem and fixed as soon as possible. Now the house is truely, up to date (even before the new fridge, it was great!) and can't wait to get back there!! Will defianately be going back, and so will the other family members!!

Practical, comfortable family home, just right off the beach. Partial view of ocean and Cape from the game room. The game room was great fun and T.V on both levels was useful. Bring your own DVD's and VHS tapes (very few good rentals in area). Fun to watch the dory boats launch from the beach. Close to Lincoln City, but not very close to Canon Beach / Seaside. It was good. - Rob

Thanks for a great vacation! The house suited our big family and then some. We played on the beach all day and came home to a toasty fire at night. Everything was clean and updated. The kids loved playing ping pong. Overall, this cozy cottage fit our budget for a beach getaway and we will definitely be returning.

Our family stayed the weekend at this house and it was perfect. It is an absolute ideal location and the house is great for families. The kids loved the bonus room with the ping pong table, which was located right next to the kitchen and living room so that we could easily keep an eye on them. Perfect place to be able to grab your surfboard and walk right to the waves.
