This recently renovated 1,300 square foot cottage, located 12 miles west of I75, can sleep up to 4-6 people.
A row boat and bikes are available; as well as fishing poles to fish off the dock, a tire swing and fire pit.
Floral City holds a delightful Strawberry Festival in March.
1/2 a mile away you can enjoy Blueberry picking in April; Blackberry picking in May.
Beautiful Rainbow Springs - a must see and feel - can be reached in 40 minutes. Swimming in any of the many refreshing, invigorating Florida Springs is like non other. Secluded cave exploration awaits you fifteen minutes away. Airboat rides, horseback riding, miniature golf are close by. For an exciting evening, attend the races at the Citrus County Speedway just down the road. Shopping, restaurants and theatres are within minutes.
Withlacoochee State Rails to Trail bicycle path is within walking or riding distance @ 0.4 miles.

Located down the country road from this property is our sister cottage, Cove Cottage, an adorable 1000 square foot one bedroom/one bath (VRBO listing #221342). Cove Cottage is not lake side, but lake access is less than two hundred yards away and boats will be made available.
Also nearby to the east side of Lotus is a beautiful 1920s cypress cottage with lake view, spacious porch, deck, knotty pine interior walls and ceilings, fireplace and charm galore. It is a 1000 square foot two bedroom/one bath with full amenities. Outside you can enjoy the two-picnic table pavillion, fire pit, deck, bikes and boats (VRBO listing #266094).
All three properties are ideal for multi-family vacations, church groups, retreats, etc.
We've enjoyed this area so much that our families have been vacationing in the peaceful beauty of Floral City since 1968. So much so, that in the last five years we've acquired these additional properties. We hope you'll enjoy any or all of them as much as our families do.
Busch Gardens is 75 minutes to the southeast. Disney World is 80 minutes to the east. This property is located 75 minutes north of Tampa Airport.

Dear Lotus (Dudleys), Your home is just wonderful. Just the peace and quiet we needed to have "us" time. Thank you for having a place a person can bring their dogs. We are responsible dog owners and like to travel with them and be able to stay in nice clean places. Without people like you we would not travel as much due to the low quality hotels offered that take pets. We enjoyed visiting the local state parks and then coming "home" to a beautiful and quiet place and rock on the porch. Swimming in your lake was so refreshing and we met your brother Chris and his wife Gina, wonderful couple. What a wonderful, relaxing and surprising gift to spend Mother's Day weekend at Lotus. My children and husband loaded the car with food & a record player - bound for EASY LIVING! Here it was in beautiful Floral City. We enjoyed the lake, went fishing, caught crickets - well, the kids did that - ha! We also explored Peace Cave and all the surrouding caves. My family enjoyed it all. My mother-in-law joined us Saturday to make the weekend extra special. This weekend was PERFECT! Your home is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us. ruly peaceful! What a beautiful, quiet place to relax for spring break. We are a travelling hockey family from Michigan so the slow down and peace from our normal every day rush is appreciated. Daer Lotus, Thank you for helping us to celebrate a wonderful anniverary! We arrived prior to a once a year storm according to the locals and for two days the thunder rumbled and the rains fell. Such a great house for even rainy weather. We played games and read and immensely enjoyed the quiet. Got to use the Kayaks the last morning. Dear Lotus, Another beautiful day. Sandhills up by the house this am. Look at video of them, just beautiful. Also whooping cranes were spotted, saw approx 200 Sandhills in the field across from Comet. Took home a Cuban sandwich and pizza from Flroal City Pizza & Subs, wonderful. Went to Shamrock Sunday evening - horrible. Storms expected this day and evening, hope not too bad. Becky Dear Lotus - 1.29.11 Last morning here. Such enjoyment. Will miss the wild life, expecially the Sandhills. They came to say goodbye last night. Hope to return someday. Thanks, Bill & Becky

We had such a wonderful time down here that I am ready t move to Florida. All I have to do when I get back to Indiana is start looking for my husband a job down here. This may be one of the last vacations I will get to spend with my grandparents, but it was wonderful here. I think we all enjoyed it very much. I know those toll roads enjoyed us. We made several trips to Daytona, so our daughter could play on the beach. Thank you so much for letting us use your house. Child's entry: We had lots of fun going fishing, going to see the caves, going swimming in the lake, going on the pier, swinging on the tire and going to the park. The kitchen, living rooms, the bathrooms and the rooms look beautiful. Thank you so much. We had lots of fun.
