Location: Colosseo Foro Romano (Coliseum & Roman Forum), Rome, Latium (Lazio), Italy, Europe
Accommodations: Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Other (See Description), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)
Whisk a loved one away on a romantic break or weekend and forget about the world you are leaving behind, enjoying instead the relaxation and romance with someone special in one of our apartments in Rome Italy ...
This romantic apartment (perfect for an unforgettable honeymoon) is located near the Roman Forum and the Colosseum in the area called "Monti" (where the Italian president has his residence), ancient neighborhood of the "Suburra " (the name means "area under the city"), mentioned in historical sources, that still today maintains a popular and characteristic flavor.
This location is perfect for those who want to walk in the centre (easily you can reach by foot the main sites like the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Santa Maria Maggiore Church, Piazza Venezia, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon) or reach any other destination by public transportation. There is a bus stop (bus 117) close to the apartment that will take you a few minutes in Spanish Steps or Piazza del Popolo (the trendy and famous fashion district). Underground stop "Cavour Line B" just at few steps from the apartment: in only one stop you will be able to reach the Central Station Termini and from there you can also easily reach the seaside/beach front of Ostia Lido, where you can spend part of your day in summer season)
The apartment is on the second floor of a building of the 19th Century (with elevator and air conditioning) and it is composed of: bedroom (queen/king size bed) with a small balcony that looks out on a good sized garden. With the greenery and freshness of the garden, you would never guess that you are in the historic center of Rome. The bedroom is separated from the living room by means of a sliding door. The door has been painted with tromp l'oeil effect by the owner of the apartment and when opened forms, together with the decoration on the walls of the living room, a unique illusion.
Going down three steps you enter the dining area and corner kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, electric stove and everything needed for preparing your meals). The tiles in the kitchen as well as the dining tabletop have all been painted by hand by the owner, another example of the care that has gone into decorating this apartment. The dining area looks out on a typical Roman piazza, complete with a characteristic pizzeria with tables and umbrellas. The original wooden ceiling tiles has been restored, giving the warmth of wood to the entire environment. The bathroom is decorated with travertine tiles, and, though not very big, it is comfortable and includes: w.c., bidet, sink and shower.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2000
Natalia worked as a flight attendant (cabin crew) for Alitalia Airlines from 1970 to 1995. Prior to her work at Alitalia, she lived for more than a year in London, studying and working in a tourist agency. She speaks excellent English, understands and speaks Spanish and can "get by" in French.
The twenty-five years she spent traveling from one country to another gave her an opportunity to learn about the ways and customs of many countries and enhanced her natural predisposition for interpersonal relationships; she always succeeds in establishing an immediate, friendly relationship with her guests.
Since 1995, she has attended the "Academy of Decorative Arts", discovering a hidden talent for painting and decorating that she never imagined before. She now puts this talent to use personally decorating her apartments. In fact, the tiles in the kitchens and the tabletops in the dining areas of her apartments are all hand painted as well as the tromp l'oeil paintings, which gives each apartment a unique touch.
In the last 4 years she has attended courses of the History of Roman Art, which allowed her to get to know the city on a new level. She provides her guests with useful information on Rome and its monuments and archaeological sites.
Walter worked as flight engineer for Alitalia Airlines from 1965 to 1997 and is now giving great support to Natalia. He also loves art and history and he continues to attend courses on the History of Roman Art.
Upon your arrival Natalia and Walter will make available, in addition to their knowledge and experience, a large number of tourist guides, brochures and maps of Rome so that you will immediately have Rome, as they say, "in your hands."
Why the Owner Chose Colosseo Foro Romano (Coliseum & Roman Forum)
The apartment is located next to the Roman Forum. The oldest and most important structures of the ancient city are located in the forum, including its ancient former royal residency the Regia and the surrounding complex of the Vestal virgins. The Old Republic had its formal Comitium there where the senate, as well as Republican government began. The forum served as a city square and central hub where the people of Rome gathered for justice, and faith. The forum was also the economic hub of the city and considered to be the center of the Republic and Empire.

Dear Natalia and Walter, MILLE GRAZIE A TUTTI When we decided to get married in Rome, we tried to make every little thing perfect. But we could not expect that the house we choose would be better than perfect!!! We saw the photos, but even so it was a wonderful surprise. We are about the leave Rome “scudede” (there is no exact translation for this word, but it means more than missing someone or something) and we must thank you for making possible that this week means truly unforgethable besides the marriage – of course!

Thanks so much for making our stay in Rome such a wonderful experience. The apartment proved to be an oasis of calm and the frescos added a very special touch of what otherwise would have been just another rental. Natalia and Walter, if you are ever in Northern California, please look us up. Perhaps we can make your stay in our aria more enjoyable with our travel recommendations. You certainly made ours here in Rome! Thanks again and we will see you again here in the future.

Dear Natalia, Thank you for your warm hospitality and the use of your charming flat. Roma is wonderful as we remembered it, it was a treat to be so close to all the sites. We enjoyed, too, your restaurant selection. We shall certainly recommend your flat(s) to our friend and we definetely intend to return ourselves. There is so much of you in the flat, and that is what makes it so confortable and so much like a home. Warm regards

Natalia and Walter, Thank you so much for everything. Despite our very very late arrival (almost 2 a.m.) you welcomed us with smile and made sure that our transportation was taken care of. Your apartment was heaven sent after our 10 hours + airport delay in Frankfurt. What a beautiful place you have here. It was a great location. Once again thank you so much for letting us stay here. We would love to return and spend more time here in Rome.

Dear Natalia Mille grazie for renting this lovely apartment. We had a wonderful time in Rome. It was the first trip for my 14 th year old son, and what a great experience to have a change to live as the Romans do. Of course the location was perfect and we enjoyed all the typical sights: Colosseo, Fori Romani, Pantheon. But the most lasting memory we will have is of the Italians celebrating their world cup win over Australia. Young people singing, chanting, running and driving through the streets waving the Italian flag. VIVA ITALIA!
