Fantastic Escape

Stayed in the 2nd floor unit and my wife and I will certainly be back next year. The beach was extremely quiet and when you open the french doors to the beach and hear the waves...... relaxation. We stayed in San Juan for an extra week but both of us wished we had just rented out the Villa for an entire 2 weeks instead. Very quiet and very peaceful. The owners were a pleasure to do business with and I am more than happy to tell anyone looking for a stay in Rincon to go here.

Best Kept Secret in Town

Guest: JWDD (New York)
Date of Stay: 03/21/09 Review Submitted: 04/12/09

We recently stayed in the top floor villa and were completely overwhelmed with its beauty and charm and fabulous location. The location is truley the best kept secret in Rincon. Conveniently located to the town; bike or walk, yet tucked far enough away nesteled amongst a lovely cul de sac leading to a beautiful beach. The villa offers spectacular views and relaxing sounds of the ocean. The villa is spacious and nicely decorated with all the amenities of home. We enjoyed the relaxing and very laid back retreat that we found ourselves spending many nights sitting on the balcony eating our meals. Definitely worth a stay!

A totally wonderful vacation at Seashell Villa!

My family rented both of the 2 Seashell Villas which occupy roughly 1/2 of the first and second floor of the large Mansion/Villa. There was plenty of room for all 7 of us in this beautiful and comfortable building that sits only steps away from the beach and the ocean and which offers dramatic, breathtaking sunsets. We found the house to be spotlessly clean and neat. The upstairs and downstairs each have comfortable living rooms with French doors that open to lovely airy decks with tables and chairs. The kitchens are modern and efficient. We cooked several meals in and ate 4 dinners out at some of the fine local restaurants which offered excellent food in island settings. There is no limit to the number of terrific Caribbean bars and restaurants in the general area yet there is no over-development and certainly no crowding. The property is surrounded by palm trees and tropical flora. The mix of natural tropical beauty and local native culture is perfect for vacationers who prefer a real experience over a resort atmosphere. It's Puerto Rico at it's best! It doesn't pretend to be anyplace else. I would highly recommend it to all my friends. My dealings with the owner were pleasant, clear and efficient. His representative in Rincon was very helpful. There are calm ocean waters which offer very good snorkeling. Surfers and people who enjoy rougher, higher waves will enjoy the beaches 10-15 minutes to the north. We partook of both and enjoyed them immensely. Snorkeling equipment was provided by the Villas and we found them in cabinets near the kitchens. The younger people in the group had a great time one afternoon in clear blue skies parasailing off the coast. The nearby hills are beautiful to drive through and to explore. They feature local homes, quaint cow pastures and narrow winding roads with spacious vistas. A small contemporary place in the hills called Banana Dang offers cool and tasty smoothies and the owners are very helpful with directions to local beaches. I recommend Sandy Beach for heavy waves, and Steps Beach for snorkeling.

Everything they said it would be!

We just returned from the Seashell Villas where we stayed for a little over a week. It was better than described in every way. Paul, the owner, and Joan, his local representative, had everything ready including recommendaitons, flyers, and an information binder that provided some great information. They also gave superb directions and were very responsive if you had any questions. The locals, whether Anglo or Puerto Rican were another great asset to this location - everyone was friendly. Generous with thier recommendations, fellowship, and laughter. We found many recreational and dining locations within walking distance, and spent hours snorkling in the water just outside the back gate. Abundant fish (including some huge flounder that I almost got close enough to touch - mmmmm) and other marine wildlife were all around the rocks and coral just 15- 20 feet from the shore. Caution; if you walk on the coral and rocks, I'd highly recommend some water shoes or you might step on a sea urchin or something (if you stay in the sand you don't need them at all). Speaking of sea urchins; I say two in the coral that were HUGE - much larger than a basketball!!! Way cool. I highly recommend this location to anyone visiting PR. If you go, say Hi to Pirulo - he lives in the small house accross the creek. Take the time to shake his hand and chat - you might even ask him to take your group on a tour of the mountains (dirt cheap, and he does all the driving). I could go on and on, but you get the message: go! You won't regret it.

Rincon at its best

Our stay at Seashell Villa ranks as the best vacation experience we have ever had in the Caribbean. The Villa is located right on Corcega beach, is in immaculate shape and has all the amenities you want on a Caribbean holiday. There was an unexpected surprise out in the water in front of the villa; that being a submerged line of rock and small caves full of tropical fish. We had planned on an organized snorkeling trip elsewhere, but ended up spending a great deal of time thirty feet out in front of the villa. The beach in front of Seashell Villa is wide, comprised of soft brown sand and has a fair number of seashells scattered along nearly a mile of virtually empty beach. Desecheo Island, which must be of volcanic origin is an incredible sight rising out of the water about eleven miles off shore to the North of the Villa. The climate in January was superb; eighty during the day with a sea breeze and sixty eight at night. All in all it was an amazing experience that will definitely be repeated.
