We've stayed at the Whaler 5 previous times and none of the units where even close to being as nice as this unit. It truly is the perfect location for views and comfort. There were days that we never used the car! We walked up and down the beach, visited the shops and ate on the lanai and nearby restaurants. Watched great sunsets while having a glass of wine. We used the resident grills a few times to cook steaks for a wonderful meal on the lanai while taking in the views. Sat, your place is paradise!. Besides the views of the water, Molokai, Black Rock & the golf course, the lanai was a great place to view it all plus the beautiful sunset. With the lanai being so large, we enjoyed many meals, wine and lounging in the sun on all the comfortable furniture. We found the perfect view so ate many of our meals with the well equipped kitchen. The furnishing were comfortable, including the king size bed. There was plenty of bedding and linens. My husband suffers from back pain so the massages in the spa really were a plus. With such easy access to the garage, traveling when we needed was very convenient. Your listing, while a good representation of the property and unit, can't come close to providing the sense of luxury and peace that your unit provides. We'll be back! Bruce & Susie

We came here for our 5 year anniversary. The Whaler is in a great location - within walking distance to snorkelling (Black Rock), restaurants, and shopping. The beach is heavenly & the views from this unit are incredible.

Overall rating... excellent " We have stayed at this unit several times and it definitely the best unit we have had the pleasure of staying in at the Whaler complex. The unit is well decorated and being a corner oceanfront unit, it has a 270 degree view from the lanai. This encompasses the beautiful Black Rock area and the islands of Molokai and Lanaii. We have enjoyed watching the whales from this advantage point during the whale season. The unit is well maintained. The sunsets from the lanai are incredible. Hi Sat, Just to let you know, all went well last week at 1101. You have a great location and great place to stay in. We enjoyed the stay and had no problems. We loved our 10 night stay. The wrap around view is so amazing that you have to tear yourself away to go anywhere else. This is definitely our favorite place in Hawaii.

Looking out the window here in snowy Montana makes me want to go back so badly! Our first trip to Hawaii and our first dealings with this VRBO thing, so we were a little apprehensive, but it was as close to perfect as we could have wished. I'd debated going for a ground floor room but I am so glad we didn't--we never shut the curtains (although there are good room-darkening ones if needed) and never felt any lack of privacy, something I doubt is true with a lower unit. Instead, we enjoyed a view in every direction, as the windows are huge and the mirrors are well placed. Also, being up high gives you an unrestricted view over the palm trees so everything--beach, pool, courtyard, mountains, and ocean--can easily be seen. This condo had everything necessary: anything we needed for cooking (we ate breakfast plus one meal a day in the condo, either doing a lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants nearby. With Safeway just down the road it was easy to stock up on food and the prices weren't a shocking as I'd expected), more storage than we could possibly use, nice TVs and reading material (neither of which we had time for), some beach "toys", and two comfortable beds (one being the sofa bed) that slept 4 without any trouble. The location of The Whaler couldn't be better. The beach has to have the nicest and cleanest sand on the island and it was an easy walk to either Whaler's Village or Black Rock (good snorkeling around the end of the rock where I saw a ray, a turtle, and an eel, as well as a huge variety of colorful fish). We didn't need to leave our room to see turtles, though, as they'd swim by on a regular basis and were easy to spot from the lanai. You may see reviews on other websites saying there's construction at The Whaler, and there was while we were there (planter boxes being replaced). We barely noticed so don't worry. They start after you should be out of bed and quit before 5:00 so if you're doing your vacation right, you won't even know they're there. And it's nice to see that the condos are being updated and maintained properly. You won't regret staying at The Whaler but I guarantee that enjoy it even more if you stay in this unit. It has to be one of the nicest in the entire resort and I definitely hope we'll be able to return.

Just wanted to send you a quick thank you for sharing your amazing condo with us. We had an absolutely fantastic time in Maui, and the condo only made it better. It was great to wake up every morning and see the ocean without even getting out of bed! I just wanted to let you know that my wife Jenny and I had an incredible time in Maui last week and really enjoyed staying in your 11th floor ocean-front condo at the Whaler. The views from the balcony were unbelievable. Black Rock in one direction along with panoramic views of the islands of Lanai and Molokai in front of you. Amazing...! Your unit is without a doubt the best location we have ever rented at the Whaler in all the years we have been staying there. We wish we were still there sitting on the balcony enjoying the views and listening to the pounding of the surf. The weather was great. Just a great, relaxing and enjoyable vacation. We just returned from a week in 1101 and it was not nearly long enough! This was our first trip to Maui and we definately made the right choice with the Whaler and this unit. The view is incredible and the location cannot be beat. You can walk 5 minutes to snorkel at Black Rock or 5 minutes to Whalers Village for some great chow or shopping and still feel secluded on your balcony with the amazing view - with polarized glasses we could see rays and turtles in the water. The condo is set up nicely and the A/C works great but is not needed much. We loved sleeping with the doors open and listening to the waves. The grounds are pretty and the staff was very nice. I don't know what more you could ask for. We will be contacting Sat to stay here again - hopefully soon!
