Kauhale Makai penthouse condominium is a deluxe, fully-equipped condo located in Kihei, Maui. The unit sleeps four, with one CalKing bed in the master bedroom, and two twin beds in the second bedroom. Each bedroom has a private bathroom.
There are two private lanais, with an ocean/mountain 180 degree view from the main lanai, and with ocean, mountain, and garden/pool views from the master bedroom lanai.
The Kauhale Makai complex is comprised of two buildings arranged around its large park-like grounds and swimming pool. It is a quiet, family oriented resort which includes a children's wading pool. There are elevators and the units are handicapped accessible
Kauhale Makai is centrally located; there are grocery stores, shops, restaurants, golf courses, and many of Maui's scenic attractions a short walk or drive away.
No Pets. No Smoking within the unit. HI law prohibits smoking in any public place and within 20 feet of any door or window. It is not permitted to smoke on the lanais because of adjacent condo units. Consider this entire unit, including lanais, non smoking.

We've stayed in this condo three times. What a treat. In our opinion this is one of the best locations on Maui -- both the building and the condo. The building is located with the ocean right in front of you, enjoy breakfast on one of the two lanais and watch the whales, the kite surfers, wind surfers and our favorite -- the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see in your life. You're not a block away from the water or across the street from the water you are ON the water! You're not looking over the pool or the parking lot you're overlooking the ocean. Most of the time we haven't used the second bedroom. We spend the money for a two bedroom for the view and IT IS WORTH IT. Once you've experienced a true OceanFRONT property (not oceanVIEW) you won't go back. We're spoiled. We've stayed in other units in this building. Other units are oceanview with either the swimming pool or parking lot :-( as part of your view. They aren't bad -- this unit is just GREAT. Units on this end of the building offer you PRIVACY (within reason) from your lanai. If you face the pool you have all the units from the other building that face the pool able to see you and those down at the pool. If you face the parking lot...........well, enough said. We're not trying to be negative about the other condos or other buildings -- simply trying to point out the advantages of the oceanfront condos. And THIS oceanfront condo is as good as it gets on Maui, you are in the Penthouse. Treat yourself, stay here. You will not be disappointed! PS this building does not allow pets. For us, this is a HUGE plus. No barking, no surprises to step in --- just sit back and RELAX! Enjoy the sights and (natural) sounds.

Just returned from 10 day stay in this fabulous 2 bedroom 2 bath ocean front condo. Wi-Fi was fast, unit is totally equipped to entertain a family. You can tell the owners take great pride in attending to detail. Fresh, clean, and the five 0'clock sunsets are unbelievable. The only problem is there is so much to do on Maui that getting back to the condo for sunset is a challenge. Having a great pool, jacuzzi, and BBQ's on property make for a totally relaxing vacation. Seems more than one trip is necessary to take in all the activities, enjoy views, and still have time to just enjoy this wonderful condo and great location. This complex also has a romantic resort atomosphere and we enjoyed that fact that it had the elevator to the 6th floor penthouse level.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
