Great location for a comfortable apt full of light at reasonable price :
This 1 BR 34m2 apartment stays on the 3rd floor WITH elevator. It was refurbished in July 2011. It is located right in the very center on Montmartre, 30 seconds from the “Abbesses” street, but away enough to be out of the crowd. Subway “Abbesses” is at 2 mn. Just up the street lies the “Moulin de la Galette”, the last one on the hill and down rue Lepic, the “Moulin Rouge”, the famous Cabaret.
The main area is the living room. It offers 2 large windows. Decoration is nice as shelves have been designed specifically for the apt and painted in warm light grey. It offers a comfortable convertible sofa (2 pers), a LCD TV, a small stereo. Nice prints of drawings and carvings give a touch of refinement. An original setting is a small window that opens from the living room to the bedroom and may be closed with a wooden shutter.
The bedroom offers a comfortable (new) queen size bed and a closet.
The kitchen is an open kitchen in a deep corner of the living room. It is equipped and offers washer, fridge, microwave and stove. It is very bright as one of the windows faces it.
Bathroom offers a bath with shower as well as toilets. It is small but convenient.
Note : when photos where taken some furniture where planned to be added or changed ie Flat TV screen. It is now.
An original point about this building is that there is, on first floor, an outside gallery opening on a courtyard with trees and greeneries. It gives a nice atmosphere even if courtyard belongs to the next building (see photo).
As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and Australia are generally free. It is also true for more than 50 countries. More over, calls to cell phones towards specific countries (often US & Canada) may also be free. Ask us for detail as it may vary with time and policies of operators.
This location is a perfect base to visit Paris. It stays 10 minute by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.
• Montmartre is a village within Paris: it combines the atmosphere of an ancient village with trendy shops and fabulous restaurants. Many artists and movie stars live in the district.
• As you walk through Montmartre you will pass many winding and picturesque streets with fascinating houses, stairs and wonderful views over Paris. Look for the Montmartre Vineyard, walk to 'Place du Tertre' where artists will offer to draw your portrait and see Picasso’s house and the Salvador Dali museum. Visit the famous Sacre-Coeur Moorish-looking church.
• On the 'Rue des Abbesses' you will discover shops, cafes and clothing stores and in 'Rue Lepic' you will come across the market, wine shops - the cheese shop was rated n° 3 in France – bakeries and charcuteries. It’ll take a few days to select your preferred “café” !!! Walk down to the Moulin Rouge and experience the Paris nightlife.

We had a lovely time at your apartment in Montmartre. We loved it! Staying there was perfect for us. Everything worked fine in the apartment making our stay very comfortable. The location was perfect: One block down the hill were all the groceries, shops, cafes, fantastic cheese and vegetable markets, a rotisserie shop and even a fabulous boulangerie with the best bread ! Metro was a short walk away, most convenient to go into town for sight-seeing and exploring. Last but not least, the bed was so comfortable! Thank you again!
