Great Family Vacation House

Guest: Granny (New Jersey)
Date of Stay: 08/20/11 Review Submitted: 10/09/11

We rented this house last August and really enjoyed ourselves. Our group included parents, adult children and spouses and grandchildren (ages 4 and 1). We loved the back yard for the kids; the back porch was a wonderful place to relax and the kitchen was large and well-equipped. The master bedroom and a smaller room connecting to it, which worked well for the young kids and their parents. The house is a short walk to town and just a little longer walk to the beach. We brought a wagon to tote the kids and beach items and found it very helpful. There were bikes available at the property which was really nice. The owner was responsive and helpful and the house itself was clean and well kept.

Pleasant family getaway

This home was perfect for our family getaway. We ranged in age from 18 - 75 and all had a blast. The location was perfect - easy walking distance to the mall. We loved getting around on the bikes that the owner provided and we especially enjoyed the screened in porch on the back of the house. The owner was readily available by phone or e-mail. We would recommend this property to friends and relatives. All the restaurants were wonderful. We enjoyed Fresco's, Cucina Rosa, Washington Inn and Lobster House. Of course the teenagers loved the mall and and all the ice cream choices : )

We loved the house on Corgie Street and loved being able to bring the family pet! We felt like we were living a little of the history of Cape May in this beautiful historic home! The kitchen was spacious and had everything you needed and we loved the screened in porch and side porch for morning coffee or just relaxing and reading! We will definitely consider this home again for a return trip to wonderful Cape May!

The O'Rourkes

We stayed in the cottage in July of 2011. We have vacationed in Cape May for many years and needed a larger home this year as we were having a family celebration and needed a home that could accommodate all of us. The house was extremely comfortable and larger than it appears on the website. The beds were comfy and the house was very clean when we arrived. We had three children under 10 in our party and we did not have to worry about minor spills as the house and furniture is "kid friendly". The kitchen is not super luxurious or ultra modern but it is spacious, well equipped, and we had many nice evenings around the island cooking and sharing a bottle of wine. It is just what you'd want in a beach house. The fenced yard was a huge bonus for both the kids and our dogs. It was the first year we were able to bring our labs on vacation and they had a great time as well! The location was terrific - a short walk to restaurants and shops. The beach was withinin reasonable walking distance though we chose to drive (with all of our gear) and found parking on the side street (without meters) to be very convenient. The owner was very attentive and the availability of the bikes and the beach tags were such a nice touch. We will definitely be back - even if we don't need all of the room. The comfortable home, convenience, and knowing we can bring the pets make this a real find. We have many great memories from our stay,

The house was perfect for me and my family. Close to most things, yet private. Very pleasant.

Great location, wonderful house, gracious homeowner

This was a perfect experience from the initial contact with the homeowner; every aspect of the transaction was smooth and convenient. The house was lovely, spacious and well appointed. We found everything we needed to prepare meals at home, and the house was clean and comfortable. This was a girls' getaway, and we spent many hours roaming the town and admiring the amazing Victorian homes, shopping, dining out and sitting on the screened in porch. Once we arrived, we did not need the car. We walked to the Dolphin Watch, the Market Square, the House tour, and the beach; we rode bikes to the lighthouse where took the nature walks, and to Sunset Beach. When I asked if the owner could recommend any restaurants, I was supplied with a two page letter customized for our weekend and our interests. The highlights for dining out were Tisha's for dinner, and George's for breakfast. Two nice places for a casual dinner or lunch are Lucky Bones and the Lobster House. Cape May is a wonderful place to vacation, and I would certainly return to the area and to this house. I recommend this Beautiful Cottage without reservation.

Perfect Beach Home

Guest: Madhuri (Jersey City, NJ)
Date of Stay: 09/16/10 Review Submitted: 09/28/10

We came down to Cape May with friends and have to say this house is perfect. I don't think anyone in our group had a single complaint. It's a great size for a fairly large group (we had 7 adults and 4 kids) and perfectly located--close to a park, the beach and town. The kitchen is great for cooking meals and just hanging out. There's this wonderful screened-in porch off the kitchen and the backyard is perfect for your morning coffee and to let the kids run off some steam. The owner keeps bikes for tenants' use, so I rode everywhere, scoping out the different neighborhoods and the beach. The town is very charming and the beach is the prettiest I've seen in the Northeast. (I had no idea we have sandy beaches up here!) Everywhere we went, people were really friendly and helpful. You couldn't ask for more hospitality. All in all, a perfect weekend and we can't wait to come back to the house next year.

property 195041 Aug 2010

Guest: EllenandDave (Lebanon, NJ)
Date of Stay: 08/21/10 Review Submitted: 09/08/10

We stayed at this property in Aug 2010. We had 5 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. The house was pleasantly bigger than we expected (it was hard to tell by the website). Plenty of room in the bedrooms and the beds were very comfortable. Adequate bathrooms, 2 upstairs and 1/2 downstairs. The kitchen is GREAT! Plenty of dishes, utencils, pots etc. There is a great big work table that we gathered around to prepare food and drink wine. The kitchen table was plenty big enough so that we ate all of our meals there which left the dining room table free for the kids puzzles and games. The fenced in yard was great to have for the dogs and kids and the screened in porch was a wonderful place for us to hang out, especially on the rainy days. It is a beautiful house in a beautiful section of Cape May, close to the shopping. We will definately rent this property again. Ellen and Dave M.

Great House for a family vacation!

Guest: Rebecca (Media, PA)
Date of Stay: 08/14/10 Review Submitted: 08/26/10

My family has been vacationing in Cape May for 24 years now. We have tried several houses over the years and found just a few that lived up to our expectations. This property is one of the best. The property is well kept and very comfortable. The added plus was that we were able to bring our little Boston with us. He enjoyed being able to stay with the family rather than be kenneled. The season tags were new to us. We never had a house that offered this perk. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone.

We Are Home!

Guest: J & J (Reading PA)
Date of Stay: 07/17/10 Review Submitted: 08/12/10

This was our second year, adding an additional week to our stay. Felt like "coming home" upon our arrival. Home is clean and comfortable but also has a very relaxed feeling. The screened back porch is ideal for day and night use and a great gathering place for house guests. The fenced front and back yard is ideal for dogs and the long "alley" on the side of the house between the fence and house is a great place to throw ball. However, the home's biggest asset is its owner. He is absolutley wonderful to work with on the rental lease and he allows free use of his home without checking on things. Planning to rent it again next summer.

A Perfect Family Vacation Home in a Quiet Neighborhood

Guest: Ann and Leonard (Brooklyn, NY)
Date of Stay: 09/05/08 Review Submitted: 04/27/10

We have returned to this house several times, always feeling like we are coming home. The setting is perfect for our wishes -- not too far from the beach or the tennis courts and with a nice fenced yard for our dog. It is immaculate and very nicely furnished, with the best kitchen I have experienced in 30 years of summer rentals in Cape May. The side porch has comfortable rockers, perfect for morning coffee and the paper and in the afternoon for reading and a glass of wine. The owners are pleasant and responsive to deal with and seem like friends although we have never met them.
