Apartment description - 3 bedroom newly remodeled apartment with 1.5 bathrooms. One full bathroom, with shower, toilet, sink. One half-bathroom with toilet, sink. Complete kitchen including oven, microwave oven and full-size refrigerator. Turkish carpets and duvet covers. All rooms with ceiling fans. Master and second bedroom have 150 x 200 cm beds (queen size). Third bedroom has two single beds (90 x 190cm). 200x150 cm sofa-bed in living area.
Location - The apartment is by the hippodrome by the Blue Mosque, in the Küçük Ayasofya neighborhood in Sultanahmet.
Transportation - From Ataturk airport this apartment can be reached by metro + tramway or of course by taxi. The apartment is close to the Sultanahamet tramway station.
Management - We are a small family company. Lauren is from Dallas, TX and Fernando is from Barcelona, Spain. We currently run 16 holiday apartments in Barcelona and 2 furnished homes in Dallas. We apply our same high standards in every country. We love Istanbul and we hope you will also love to stay in our third unit in Sultanahamet and the fifth in this incredible city. Noise levels - The apartment has double glazing. The location is quiet but there is a loud nightly call to prayer 1 hour before sunrise.
Occupancy - The apartment is ideally suited for 6 people. It can sleep up to 8.
Check-in and check-out - The apartment will be ready for you at 16:30 for occupancy. You can drop your bags and get your keys from 12:00 (noon). Our greeter will be at the apartment to greet you and hand you the keys. The check-out time is 11:30am. You can request reserved early check-in or late check-out for a small fee, subject to availability. There is no extra fee for nighttime check-in.
Extras - Introductory neighborhood tour. Transportation to and from the airport. Groceries on arrival.

Comfortable Apartment in Good Location

Our group of 5 enjoyed our stay in this apartment October 1-10, 2010. It was just a 10 min walk from Hippodrome & 10 min in another direction to the tram stop on the Divan. Good restaurant options close by - we especially enjoyed Cesme - down the hill. Also a small grocery only a block away. Bakery a couple of blocks. We didn’t cook in, but did bring in take-out a couple of times. It was great to have option of glass of wine and crackers/chesse/olives/etc. before going out for dinner. The kitchen is fully equipped. When securing the apartment, owners were very easy to communicate with, and answered all of our questions. There is some construction across the street, but only once did they work late. There is also a mosque nearby so the call to prayer is quite loud - but you cannot escape this in the Sultanahmet. We felt very safe in the neighborhood at all times of day. Beds are comfortable. Shower has good water pressure, and lots of hot water. Living room/dining room area cozy and bright. WiFi worked great. Phone was scratchy, but we used our U.S. cell phones. Apartment tastefully decorated and very clean. VRBO listing is accurate. It has a washer/dryer - though we did not use. Only downside was lack of closets (except in master). However, there were hooks in other bedrooms. Having the extra half bath was a life saver. There is lock on building entry door, and another lock on apartment. Apartment entry is just half flight up. I would recommend this apartment, and would be happy to use again if in Istanbul at future date. It’s a great value considering the amenities and location.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We stayed here with 3 children, 2 parents and a grandparent and were quite comfortable. The apartment is very clean, the furniture comfortable and in good shape and the location is very convenient. My only complaint would be that there was slightly off smell to the apartment but you ony notice it when you first walk in and then it doesn't bother you. The neighborhood is a mix of run down and refurbished buildings but it felt quite safe and is walking distance to some great restaurants, shopping, the tram and grocery stores. Elfi and Marco are very nice and helpful. Yes, the call to prayer is loud, especially at sunrise but you get used to it quickly and it doesn't seem like there is anywhere in the city to avoid it. This apartment is a good deal and I would highly recommend it.
