  May family and I stayed a week at the Beach Orchid,We had a blast the house had everything we needed,It we spectacular very well decorated.The location of the beach and the shopping malls was at arms reach,the pool and hot tub was awesome.I will highly recommend the home to all my family and friends.as for my family and I we say we love the home,which made our vacation the most beautiful one to remember.Thanks Kim

  So....I am thoroughly disappointed with the cleanliness of this property. I chose this one because of how nice the decor looked online. The process to book it was pretty seamless since the property owner was very courteous and professional. When we arrived, I did a walk through and noticed there was dust everywhere. I contacted the property manager who then came out. The solution offered was to have the cleaning crew come in to dust....not the best option. We paid a pretty penny to stay here, so we definitely didn't want our vacation disrupted with a cleaning crew. We had an infant with us, so I am sure the cleaning would have caused the dust to be put into the air throughout the place. As the days went on, I found countless issues with cleanliness....filthy microwave, cabinets, pots, vents, etc. I don't feel as if we were really offered an apology or a good solution to this by the property manager. We visit Destin annually, and this is the first unfortunate encounter we have had. The owner did reach out to me to discuss the concerns, but unfortunately this was after we had gone. Hopefully, our cleaning fee will actually benefit the next group of guests.

  Owner response: Since we bought this property in March of 2011, we've been fortunate to have 52 groups of guests stay at the home to date. We've always tried to be responsive to our guests' needs and to be fair and courteous in all our dealings. Consequently, we've had nothing but good feedback until now. This particular guest was unhappy before she ever stepped foot in the home. She wanted to pay with a credit card, but wanted us to wave the 3% processing fee that the credit card companies charge us. Two weeks before her scheduled arrival date, she wanted to cancel her reservation because she said some members in her party decided to back out of the trip. Rather than have her forfeit the entire rental fee per contract, I offered to credit her payment for future travel. Her party of 9 decided to go ahead and keep the reservation since they already asked to be off work. Then she tried to cancel again, citing that my property manager did not timely send her the welcome packet (even though she still had over a week and a half before she was due to arrive). When she arrived, she complained that there was dust on the ceiling fans and on the TV console. My property manager went to the house and did a walk through with her and asked if there were any other issues that needed to be addressed. She said no, everything was beautiful. She did not e-mail me about the microwave, frig, etc., until the last night of her stay. I did follow up with her to personally apologize and let her know that I was going to have a discussion with my property manager and look into different cleaning options. She complained that my property manager didn't appear to care or offer any good solutions when he came out. She didn't mention that she turned down his offer to send a cleaning crew out to correct any deficiencies until I read her review. She also turned down my offer to split the cleaning fee. What else could we have done? My property manager said that he did walk through the house and check the frig and microwave before her arrival, and the ceiling fans and kitchen cabinets were cleaned in August as part of deep cleaning, just a month before her arrival. We ask guests to run the dishwasher before they leave, but if they stick dirty pots back into the cabinets, it may be hard for the cleaning crew to catch if they're limited on time. We will continue to aim for perfection, but if we miss the mark and the guests notify us, we can only try our best to fix the problem promptly. Fair? You decide.

  This was a beautiful home. Large home great for multiple families. Dining arrangements were great for 8 adults downstairs and 4 or more children at a table upstairs on the second floor. Short 5 to 7 min walk to the beach or great shuttle service available to pick you up directly at the house. The pool area was absolutely awesome. My very favorite part, just like being at a tropical resort. Ice cream truck visited the neighborhood several times daily, the children loved it. Shopping at Destin Commons Mall extremely close. You could walk there. Walmart was nearby also. Reccomend waiting till early Sunday morning to go get groceries instead of Saturday night. That place was absolutely insanely crazy packed with people. Definately go to Brusters for ice cream or Twirl for frozen yogurt. You can walk to either one from the house.

We'll look forward to trying your recommendations for ice cream and frozen yogurt places on our next trip to Destin! I understand grocery shopping can get a little crazy at Walmart at times, especially during the summer months. As an alternative, there is also a Fresh Market store a short drive west of the home on the north side of Emerald Coast Parkway. It's similar to Whole Foods, but a little smaller and less crowded than Walmart.

  We had 4 families sharing this home. It worked out very well. There were a total of 13 people. The seating at the dinner tables between the two floors was perfect. The home was very nice. Very short walk to the pool. The pool was absolutely awesome. Just like staying at a resort with a pool. The beach was only about a 5 to 7 min. walk or they had a shuttle that would pick you up at the house. That was very nice so you didn't have to carry all your stuff to the beach. The house was really located at a nice place along the Destin strip. Would definately stay at this house or another house located in the Villages Of Crystal Beach gated community again.

  We had such a great time in Destin, and this particular beach house added comfort and convenience to the weekend. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away, and the location of the house is very central to all of the things to do in the area. The house was super clean, and the pool was a very relaxing place to hang out after we were tired from a long day at the beach. In addition, Kim and Chris were very easy to work with and everything was simple from booking the reservation, to check-in and check-out. It was large enough for the 10 of us to spread out. The pool was amazing. The beach was great! We were there during early spring break and never had a problem finding a parking spot if we wanted to drive to the beach. We also walked the 3 short blocks several times. This was our first time in Destin and we loved it. We hope to return!

  We just rented this home a couple of weeks ago. My party consisted of 8 adults (4 couples). I tell you this home was absolutely gourgeous. Just as described on the website. We were so impressed with the beautiful decor, spacious rooms and just the location itself. The Master suite was a dream and the kitchen was updated which was great since we cook in every day. Loved having a grill right on the premises! The pool was awesome, like paradise! I highly recommend this home to anyone, its a great place for couples retreat..(caution, mature adults with back and knee problems; be aware it's three floors). I can speak for my entire party when I say "we loved the home, which made our vacation one to remember!! Thanks Kim.

Yes, our home has three stories. I tend to stick to the first and second floor, but kids tend to love climbing to the third floor and treat it as their own private sanctuary, which is fine by me. More power to them. We typically have extended families or multiple families come together and each family takes a floor with its own bathroom, which is quite nice, because they can have a little privacy, yet all be under the same roof. We look forward to having you back soon!

  Our family of nine stayed in this beautiful condo for a week, and it couldn't have been a better fit. The condo itself is nestled in a gated community, right off one of Destin's main routes. There were tons of restaurants and things to do around us, and we were also just blocks from the beach! We visited with our four generation-family, and we feel like the condo accommodated us all. The bedrooms were cozy with nice-sized bathrooms, all three stories were extremely clean and very well decorated. The pool was a great perk, it was also very family friendly. All in all, we couldn't say enough wonderful things about our stay and really appreciate being able to spend our summer vacation in such a lovely place.
