Welcome to the Beach Orchid! This beautiful home in the Villages of Crystal Beach offers the security of a gated community and is perfectly situated within walking distance to the white sand beaches, outstanding shopping, and excellent restaurants in the heart of Destin! Free beach shuttle service is offered during the peak season from Memorial Day to Labor Day!
The large 30,000 sq ft, resort-style pool has a shallow walk-in area, which is wonderful for small children! The pool is surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, many waterfalls and music piped through the landscaping creating a relaxing enviroment to lounge in! The pool area also features a hot tub, a tiki bar with a flat screen TV, and a large outdoor grill. Great for small weddings or special reunions!
The lovely 6 bedroom, 3.5 bath home has a master suite on the first floor and a king bedroom on the 2nd floor. The home has two living areas, one on the first floor and one on the second floor with a wet bar, microwave and small dinning area! Kids will love having their own place to watch TV and play games upstairs while the parents relax downstairs in front of the fireplace and their own large flat screen TV! The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, tile floors and granite countertops. Furnishings have been updated and new wood floors were added in March of 2011.

Why the Owner Chose Villages of Crystal Beach
We've visited a lot of beach communities, but we love Destin because everything looks fresh and new. It's a small community that is very family friendly. It offers the beauty of the white sand beaches and all the fun activities that come with living near the ocean: boating, fishing, water sports, etc., but it also offers the peace of mind of not leaving civilization and all the comforts of home. We are able to drive to our vacation home instead of flying. When we do have to fly, the nearest airport in Ft. Walton is very easy to get in and out quickly. I like the fact that everything I want or need can be found on one road, Emerald Coast Parkway (Hwy 98), so I never have to worry about getting lost.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We enjoy the fact that everything is so close and there's something for poeple of all ages. It's a short walk to the beach and nice restaurants. It's equally close to Destin Commons, the new outdoor "lifestyle" shopping center complete with kids play area and water fountains, a movie theater, restaurants, and prime shops and boutiques. We are looking forward to going on a boat ride to see dolphins, trying out the water park near by, and discovering new favorite places to eat and shop on our next trip.

We just rented this home a couple of weeks ago. My party consisted of 8 adults (4 couples). I tell you this home was absolutely gourgeous. Just as described on the website. We were so impressed with the beautiful decor, spacious rooms and just the location itself. The Master suite was a dream and the kitchen was updated which was great since we cook in every day. Loved having a grill right on the premises! The pool was awesome, like paradise! I highly recommend this home to anyone, its a great place for couples retreat..(caution, mature adults with back and knee problems; be aware it's three floors). I can speak for my entire party when I say "we loved the home, which made our vacation one to remember!! Thanks Kim.

Yes, our home has three stories. I tend to stick to the first and second floor, but kids tend to love climbing to the third floor and treat it as their own private sanctuary, which is fine by me. More power to them. We typically have extended families or multiple families come together and each family takes a floor with its own bathroom, which is quite nice, because they can have a little privacy, yet all be under the same roof. We look forward to having you back soon!

Our family of nine stayed in this beautiful condo for a week, and it couldn't have been a better fit. The condo itself is nestled in a gated community, right off one of Destin's main routes. There were tons of restaurants and things to do around us, and we were also just blocks from the beach! We visited with our four generation-family, and we feel like the condo accommodated us all. The bedrooms were cozy with nice-sized bathrooms, all three stories were extremely clean and very well decorated. The pool was a great perk, it was also very family friendly. All in all, we couldn't say enough wonderful things about our stay and really appreciate being able to spend our summer vacation in such a lovely place. I recently stayed at Beach Orchid with my wife and several other young adult couples and had an amazing weekend! The house was spectacular and when I walked in the front door, I knew I had made the right choice to book this house (as opposed to others in the Villages of Crystal Beach). The hard wood floors were classy and none of the MANY bedrooms felt like a motel/hotel type room... they felt like home. Many houses you find on VRBO are run by a travel company and not "by owner." I've often found it difficult to find rental companies that will work with you to accommodate your specific needs. They draw a line in the sand and it's their way or the highway. Throughout the entire process (booking, payment, etc) I spoke directly with Kim (the owner) and she really went above and beyond to help me out. It was very refreshing to work with someone so helpful. The beach was a little far from the house and we did not use the shuttle service for transportation, so I can not speak as to whether or not that was easy or not. We spent most of our time laying out by the amazing pool in the middle of the neighborhood. Overall excellent trip and Beach Orchid is at the top of my list for places to stay next time I visit Destin.

Reviews like yours are very rewarding and reaffirms that our efforts were recognized and appreciated. Being three blocks walking distance to the beach may be an issue for some, but we felt that the 30,000 sq. ft. resort style lagoon pool and the free beach shuttle service made up for it. As a home owner, I personally find that little bit of land between the property and the ocean comforting in the event of hurricanes. In addition, that little distance helps minimize the sticky salt spray and sand problems one often experiences with beach front properties. That may just be the neat freak in me. Nevertheless, we're glad you had a pleasant stay at the Beach Orchid and we look forward to having you back!
