Location: Less than two miles from downtown Guerneville, Beach Retreat home is convenient to Johnson's Beach with boat rentals, the Pee Wee Golf Course, shops and restaurants. This home is located on Froggy Beach (Drake's Estate), the largest and most beautiful of Russian River beaches—with sandy dunes and shallow water access, perfect for sunning, swimming, boating, and fishing, as ospreys and herons dive for dinner. This leash-free bit of paradise, just the rear yard, is private to this little neighborhood so it's uncrowded and unspoiled.
House: With a wall of glass looking out to trees and gardens, Beach Retreat (~1300sf) enjoys the most beautiful of natural settings. Filled with sunlight, the open kitchen/dining/living area opens to a sunny deck for lounging and dining. The decorator furnishings are charming and comfortable, the fireplace creates a cozy ambiance, and the artwork is a feast for the eye. This home sleeps six in three bedrooms which have two queen beds and a double bed. There are two bathrooms each with shower. If you need to stay connected, bring your laptop -- this home has wireless high-speed cable Internet access.
Grounds: Beach Retreat enjoys great privacy and a sense of solitude. There is a a private, fenced front deck with a six-person hot tub, a rear deck with dining set, comfortable seating and gas grill, and a landscaped, sunshine-filled backyard with lawn. Beyond the lawn, a short path leads to a large, neighborhood beach where dogs can run leash-free. Along with the dozen other homes on this beach, this home has little view of the river due to the protective trees and shrubs between the homes and the river, which creates an oasis of privacy.
