Location: Rosewood Cottage is located in the redwood forest along Austin Creek. There is private access across the road to a beautiful stretch of Austin Creek (may be dry in September); it's a ¾ mile walk down the creek to the Russian River. This home is a ten minute drive from downtown Guerneville, a few minutes drive to local hangout Raymond's Bakery and downtown Cazadero's general store, and a short drive to kayak rentals and roasted on-site coffee, great shopping and dining at Duncans Mills. The Pacific Coast beaches, Goat Rock State Park, and Jenner-by-the-Sea are a ten minute drive.
House: Rosewood Cottage is one of the lightest and brightest homes in Cazadero, a tastefully-decorated home with walls of windows and skylights in every room. Sleeping six, with two baths, this home offers three separate bedrooms, two with king beds. In the main house, there is a large, sumptuous bedroom with king bed and a small bedroom with double bed. In another beautiful, spacious bedroom, detached from the house and accessed by 10 feet of sheltered deck, there is another king bed. This room is heated with an electric fireplace. Both bathrooms are in the main house, one with tub/shower, the other with shower. Heated by a wood-stove, the living room has a sofa and three comfortable recliners, and features a flat screen television with premium channels and DVD. On the other side of the wood-stove, the dining area seats six and is open to the kitchen. The open plan of the home is enhanced by large windows on all sides with views of the lush gardens and redwoods beyond. The kitchen is small, but fully equipped, and just a step away from the gracious dining area. There is a single step from kitchen to dining room and from the seating part of the living room to the TV, and two steps to the master bedroom suite. This lovely cabin has wireless high-speed Internet access and unlimited domestic long distance telephone.
Grounds: Located at the base of 3½ acres of forested hillside, Rosewood Cottage has a very private yard, with secure 8 ft fencing on all sides. There are no near neighbors. The landscaped gardens feature sculpture, seating areas and two decks, with a tranquil zen atmosphere. The completely private front deck has a 2-3 person hot tub surrounded by redwoods, greenery and flowers. The other totally private deck to the side of the house is in a sunny clearing with charcoal barbecue, patio dining and hammock. Just off this deck, there's an outdoor firepit on gravel with surrounding seating. This home has four shallow steps to the front porch from the parking area.
