The main floor is equipped with a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel commercial gas cook-top and appliances. The open floor style with beam ceilings, stone fireplace and stone walls brings the warmth of the mountains and lake inside. A flat screen high definition TV is located above the fireplace and is equipped with a DVD player, plug in for game systems and high speed internet service for those who need to stay in touch.
A rear balcony and deck extend across the entire rear of the home and leads to a fenced in rear yard for the convenience of young children. Relax on the rear balcony that is overlooking the lake in a rocker or a swivel chair with ottomans. Two bedrooms, study, bath and game room are located on the lower level that opens up to a covered, screened-in porch and huge concrete patio. The Master bedroom is appointed with a king size bed and the other three bedrooms have a queen size bed. A queen futon bed is located in the game room,a twin bed in the study and aero beds available in the linen closet.
The city of Hartwell is only 5 minutes away with shopping at your fingertips. Hartwell Marina and Gum Branch boat docks are only minutes away by water. Golf at Cateechee County Club, which is rated as one of the top public courses in Georgia and minutes away. Atlanta is only
90 minutes away and 45 minutes to Greenville NC. Additional shopping and resturants are located in Anderson SC, just minutes away.
Being a private home, you will find this get-a-way furnished and appointed in a way that you will feel right at home. A video library of over 100 movies is available with the newest releases. We can not imagine that you will need anything while visiting our home.

Why the Owner Chose Hartwell
We have family and friends that live in the Hartwell area and we really enjoy the relaxed atmoshere in and around the lake. The fishing on the lake is unbelievable and the golfing at Cateechee is as good as it gets. What a great area to kick back and relax and forget about everything and enjoy the good things in life.
The Unique Benefits at this House
When we decided to build our retirement home on Hartwell lake, we made sure that we included all the personal touches that we wanted in this home. We added stone and wood beams on the inside of the home to add the warmth of the lake and the mountains to your stay. We wanted a gourmet kitchen but wanted the home to be very open to include all our family and friends while they were with us on the lake. We wanted a great game room surrounded by bedrooms for our friends to relax but still have time to themselves.

We found this home under construction that we purchased and then added our touches to make it a memorable experience for all that have an opportunity to stay with us. LOVED IT!! Everything about this home is first-class and spectacular. It is a gorgeous, well-appointed luxury home - yet comfortable and inviting in every regard. From the granite counter tops in the huge, gourmet kitchen - to the oversized walk-in tiled shower - to the lake views from the large deck - to the game room and screened porch on the lower level - everything was perfect. The pictures simply do not do it justice. The quality furnishings and many personal touches throughout (including fresh cut flowers in the bedrooms) made us feel very welcomed and were further evidence that this is indeed a very special place. We felt right at home from the first moment we walked in the door. The house had plenty of room for the eight of us (four couples on a golf weekend) to spread out and/or spend time together. We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay or more helpful owners to work with. It was a wonderful getaway weekend and we are anxious to plan a return trip.

Comments: Lost on the lake and having a good time! We had a wonderful time in this well thought out, spacious and comfortable home. It was everything we expected and more. (The pictures don't do the home justice!) Not only is the place wonderful; so are the owners! They went out of their way to make everything perfect with no detail missed and they even sent their brother-in-law to rescue some of us who were lost on the lake in a boat. Great Time, Great Place from Great Owners!

"We had a mini family reunion here for Thanksgiving '08. We had The Parents, who are in their eighties, and the newest great-grand, who is 1 year old. We had a 10-year-old, a couple of teenagers, and some forty/fifty-somethings. We had more family join us for Thanksgiving dinner from Atlanta, Greenville, and Kentucky. We were never pressed for space, even with the full dinner crowd (including the prospective in-law for one of the college gals). All of the furniture is comfy, clean, and of good quality. The beds were VERY comfortable. The kitchen was a joy to work in, with everything we needed for cooking, cleanup, and storage. We had high-speed Internet for all, as well as dial-out capability for the IT security personnel among us. The Big Screen TV's on both floors took care of the kid's movies and the football for the rest of us. The kids all had plenty to do, even with the lake at an unusable low level. The very-nearby-town of Hartwell has a lot of quaint and cool shops - including a couple of bakery/coffee/deli type places. The neighborhood is quiet, spacious and picturesque, and made for some very nice walks. There are some wonderful neighborhood dogs who accompanied us who are big, fuzzy loverly pooches. The host landlords are extremely courteous and helpful, even with the small details. Any specialized instructions are amply documented. Of highest importance to us is that The Parents were VERY comfortable, and able to negotiate everything with no difficulty at all: BIG king bed suite, walk-in shower, single-floor living for all that they needed. Would DEFINITELY consider staying here again. Highly recommended!!"
