August 2011

I stayed at this apartment for a wonderful week+ this August, 2011. The apartment itself is quite nice, with a very nice kitchen, nice furniture, wi-fi and a mobile phone. I had no trouble sleeping here (there's two pillow sizes, thankfully!, and plenty of throw-pillows too). There is a gym less than a block away with very inexpensive eight-uses-per-month rates (AR$35 when I was there), something that was important to me and that I normally look for in hotels. I have no complaints, whether about the apartment or the building. The location is wonderful, being in walking distance to three major milonga locations: La Viruta, Villa Malcolm, and El Fulgor (where Milonga Diez is hosted), as well as the Fundación de Tango Argentino (where I attended a Tango workshop as well as private classes), and the "rural" (where the Tango festival is being hosted as I write this). El Beso is a short cab ride away (walking distance, in a pinch), as are several other milongas and prácticas. Even closer -two blocks away-, particularly for the non-dancer, is a Plaza (on Serrano) full of nightlife, and, during the day, fairs. For those of you who don't know, Palermo SOHO is teh place to be in Buenos Aires, particularly if you want to find locals and foreigners both to party with. Also nearby: "kioscos" and supermarkets (OK, not "super" by American standards, but you can get supplies and food, which is plenty good enough on vacation), as well as much shopping of all sorts (clothing, books, ...) and cafes, restarants, bars, restobars, ... On Santa Fe ave there are several banks, and since Santa Fe is busy at all hours it is quite safe to use these banks even at late hours (though folks who are not familiar with the area should still exercise extra caution even when using an ATM on Santa Fe). Cabs are available at all hours, and so are policemen, who can be found on foot patrol every several blocks at night. There's even a rooftop jacuzzi (though I'd not recommend even thinking about it in the winter), as well as free washer and dryer. Finally, I cannot forget to mention that the owner and caretaker have been very helpful, and very nice (both speak English and Spanish fluently). In short: comfortable, safe, and convenient in every way that's important when on vacation, at least to me. I can't wait to find the time to go back! PS: I'm slightly worried that this review might cause it to be harder for me to book this apartment whenever I get to go back to Bs. As. :)

This cute little apartment is in the heart of Palermo Soho and in walking distance to a myriad of restaurants, shops and bars. The apartment itself is very clean, modern and perfect for a couple or a few friends. Jeffrey and Guille were wonderful hosts and I would recommend ANYONE going to BA to stay here. Guille gave us great local restaurant and bar recommendations which turned out to be excellent. At one point, I lost a pair of keys and had to call Guille at 2AM. She graciously came by to let us in, and the very next day Jeffrey dropped off replacement keys. Great customer service! It made my experience in BA all the more enjoyable. Thank you Jeffrey and Guille!

We stayed in this apartment for two weeks starting March 22. As others have mentioned this apartment is in a very good location. Very good restaurant choices on the same block, with many well reviewed and well known restaurants within a 5 block area. There are many guide books in the apartment to give you ideas (we left ours). Computer & wireless in the apartment are fast. We did not cook but the kitchen looked well furnished. The coffee and tea were furnished so we could start the first morning in style. A real advantage was the rental process. When we have rented in BA in the past we have had to bring enough cash for the rental and damage deposit. Since we are in the US, as is the owner, we were able to send a check before we left. Easy, end of the story. The pictures of this apartment don't show it off as well as it is in person. Let me give you and example. In other apartments we have rented in BA we were unable to use the deck because they were to narrow or to hot. The deck in this apartment is wide enough to enjoy, and it is surrounded by trees, providing shade and privacy. The deck faces the street so there is plenty to see. We spent a part of every day on the deck. The apartment is compact, however there was plenty of room for us. There is more storage and closet space than we needed during our stay. The BR has 2 doors separating it from the LR and Bath. That allowed me to get up early shower, eat breakfast, and listen to music without waking my wife. We brought earplugs because we noticed the apartment was on the street side of the building. We did not need them. There was some normal city noise but it did not bother us. We had no trouble sleeping at night, or even in the afternoon when we needed to nap to prepare for a late night. This apartment will be our first choice on our next visit.

We stayed for (only) 4 nights in this very pleasant apartment and enjoyed it a lot. The location ( about 7minute leisurely walk to the subte D station in Plaza Italia ) is great, the restaurants and bars were too many for us to experience in only 4 days. Guille speaks perfect English and is very nice and helpful. Although the apartment doesn't have a washer/dryer there are plenty of laundry drop off places around ( and they are VERY cheap : for a good size load we paid 12 Pesos , around 3$ ) The sofa bed in the living room was a bit short for our 6'5"" tall son but after a late night out ( the ex-pats bar Sugar was his favorite) he didn't mind at all :)

My wife & I stayed at this apartment for 4 nights in January 2011. We were planning to go to Uruguay but changed plans at the very last minute and decided to stay the extra nights in B.A. I emailed the owner Jeffrey at around 11am and within 2 hours he had the apartment prepared and ready for us to check in. We were not expecting a luxury unit, the price is very reasonable for the standard of apartment and also the photos didn't look amazing but the apartment is fantastic. It looked very small in the pictures but it's a nice spacious 1 bedroom unit. New bathroom and kitchen, huge balcony and good comfortable furniture. I have stayed in probably 15 apartments in Buenos Aires over the past 4 years and this is one of my favourites. It definitely has one of the best locations in the city just 3 blocks from Plaza Serrano in Palermo Soho and only a few blocks from our favourite restaurant Sarkis. Anyone looking for a 1 bedroom in Buenos Aires you will struggle to find a better unit than this one. I will definitely be in contact with the owner Jeffrey to book again on our next B.A trip. I can highly recommend this apartment.

This apartment was perfect for my husband and I. You cannot beat the location it is an easy walk to both the Subte and all the great shops and restaurants in Palermo Soho. Everything is in great working order and the addition of wireless and the use of the local cell phone was a nice bonus. Check in and out went easily and Guille was a great help and available to answer any questions we had. The apartment looks out onto trees and the privacy that afforded was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and I recommend the apartment without hesitation. Our stay was for a week in November 2010.

As an interior designer I appreciated the modern architecture of this building and the interior design and furnishings of the apartment. It is very tastefully furnished and comfortable. I could have stayed here for ever! This apartment is in a very convenient and desirable location. It offers privacy of a small apartment building which I really enjoyed. Get on Boenus Aires time and stay up late and enjoy the night life (starting at 9/10pm ) of this neighborhood within two to three blocks, you will find many great restaurants and bars, featuring variety of foods and atmosphere. There are parks and great shopping for men and women. Walk five blocks to Plaza Italia and to the subway station for GEEN Line D that takes you to the city center. The neighborhoods nearby are all walkable and worth discovering. There are markets and pharmacies within a block or two. The manager spoke English fluently and offered us a lot of great information upon our arrival and was reachable by phone and email. We loved Buenos Aires and we are glad we stayed here instead of a hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in October and had a great time. The apartment is excellent and as advertised. Guille, the local contact, speaks English and gives a great introduction to Buenos Aires. Take notes. We bought and cooked ravioli from a couple places in the neighborhood and especially liked the ravioli and pasta from La Genovese on Thames. Visit the street fairs on the weekends. We walked and took the subway, buses, taxis, and hired cars. Blocks are small, and take care when crossing streets. The subway is limited, but there are many bus lines, especially from Plaza Italia. Buses are colorful and inexpensive. The apartment has a bus map and guide.

My wife and I have travelled all over the world, mostly staying in stuffy hotels or cruise ship cabins. How refreshing it was to have stayed in this apartment, complete with every amenity you could need; from modern, state of the art appliances, to well-maintained, contemporary furniture and tasteful wall decor. Even access to a personal computer, washer/dryer, hot tub, and a cell phone for your use! The apartment building has more than adequate security, and the apartment's manager was most accomodating, extremely friendly, and available for any situation that could have arisen. The neighborhood is ideal for shopping, eating out, or just walking about, as you soak in this microcosm of Buenos Aires living. And most importantly, we found it to be extremely safe. Within a 10-minute walk, you will find everything you need, from supermarkets to upscale botique shops, to the best parillas (steakhouses) in the city ( be prepared to eat very late, by US standards, though). The apartment is a short 5 blocks away from a subway station that can whisk you away to any other part of the city you desire to go. I promise I will be returning as quickly as I possibly can...I can only hope the property is available the next time I book a trip to this beautiful city.

My best friend and I stayed in this apartment for 2 months (January and February 2010) and we ABSOLUTELY loved it!!! The apartment is located in the best area of Palermo SOHO... We were only a few blocks away from the best restaurants and shopping. We were very pleased to find the photos and descriptions listed on the website accurately represented the apartment. The property manager, Guille, was extremely helpful during our entire stay. The apartment was beautifully maintained and cleaned weekly, as promised. We would DEFINITELY recommend this property to everyone we know... the neighborhood is safe, the apartment is clean and modern, and the owner/property manager were more than helpful. Thanks for the AMAZING experience!!!!!
