"Hunky Dory" is a spacious and light-filled five bedroom home with decor and furnishings inspired by Nantucket Island. Built in 1825 and recently beautifully renovated, "Hunky Dory" is situated on a very quiet lane near the working, 18th-century windmill. Located in the historic district, this home is a short walk past sea captains' mansions to the heart of Nantucket town. Beautifully landscaped with hydrangeas, lilies, and flowering window boxes, the home is as charming outside as it is inside.
A seashell-lined driveway for off-street parking leads to a very private backyard. Mature hedges and a fence surround the backyard, which also includes a large brick patio, hammock, picnic table, Adirondack chairs, enclosed outdoor shower and grill. There is a kitchen which seats ten, dining room which seats ten, living room, den with wood stove, air conditioning, fans,three televisions, three DVD players, a VCR, cable, high speed wireless Internet, games, books, a large DVD library, IPOD sound dock stereo system, beach towels and beach chairs. This wonderful home maintains a "cottage feel" while providing many amenities to make your stay on Nantucket as comfortable as it is fun.
Before Memorial Day and after Labor Day, shorter stays or Sunday- Sunday bookings will be considered. It is important to book early for the best selection of weeks, as "Hunky Dory" books well in advance, especially for the summer months. Please see our website for more pictures and information.
