Why the Owner Chose Alamo Square
It is a fabulous, very central location. First of all, it is not in Downtown (which could be dicey) and not too deep in the residential parts of town that are too sleepy. Staying in this neighborhood gives visitors a unique feel for how locals live in San Francisco. Around the corner is Alamo Square with its world famous views of the Painted Ladies and San Francisco downtown. Within strolling distance are Haight Ashbury which was the epicenter of the hippie culture and retains a certain charisma to this day, Japantown with its delicious restaurants, Castro district with its uniqueness and Golden Gate park with famous museums and greenery. Highly regarded restaurants such as Nopa are a stone's throw away. There are also many great coffee shops and bars.
Every other attraction in San Francisco is a short cab or bus ride away. There are four bus lines in a 2 block radius that take you nearly everywhere you need to go in San Francisco.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment

We were looking for something in San Francisco during a huge Oracle convention. Needless to say there were no hotels available for a reasonable rate. I resorted to looking for what I thought would surly be a more expensive alternative, the VRBO site. I came upon a property that was owned by Sri, we started correspondence and found that he was prompt and attentive to our needs. We narrowed our search down to 2 properties, after visiting Sri's we asked him to consider matching the price of the other flat and he agreed. We were hoping he would considering we really liked the space layout and feeling. Upon staying (4 of us) we found the space quite useful especially with all the kitchen amenities; we could eat in with ease and even enjoy a movie on the Plasma TV. We also found it easy to get downtown by just walking a block to the 21 bus line. We enjoyed our time a fisherman's wharf, caught Wicked, and basked the downtown scene. Lastly, one of our deciding factors was that with the property came private parking. An absolute necessity in San Francisco, we didn't have to worry about where we parted and any unnecessary fees. Kudos to Sri and his wife for providing such great accommodations at the last minute to make our stay so wonderful. I highly recommend this property and its management, we look forward to our visit again. I've already referred the property!
Owner response:Thank you for your stay, Preston. I am glad you found the location, amenities and the parking convenient and to your liking. We pride ourselves in providing fast and high quality customer service. You are welcome here again anytime.

This property was great for myself and the 4 other guests vacationing with me. The apartment was plenty clean and roomy. The pictures were accurate and the management company was more that accommodating! Deposit was refunded fast too! Would highly recommend this rental, but NOT if you can't climb stairs.

We come from Germany and knew neither the city nor the reliability of the rental company. Even when I was booking a positive impression, because I had paid twice by my mistake, and they sent back the amount very quickly without any call. All co-ordinations concerning the apartment were very easy. For example, no keys were required (code on the door), so that our flight delay was irrelevant. The apartment is well located and accessible by bus. It is clean and had everything what we need. The rooms and furniture are as described. There are enought towels available too. A description for using the TV and garbage disposals, as well as directions to the garden would have been helpful for us, but we are not very impaired by these. We were absolutely satisfied and can recommend to rent the flat. Many thanks for a great stay at the flat.

The house was clean and the people were friendly. It was only a 10 minute cab ride from Pier 39 and cabs were not expensive.Everything we needed was there. The beds were comfortable. We went with another couple and it was nice we each had our own bathroom.

We were very lucky to have this apartment for a girlfriends' getaway weekend. Checking in was as easy as entering the code provided by Sri and walking in. We were pleasantly surprised at the spacious rooms, especially the bedrooms. All three bedrooms were well decorated and comfortable. Having two bathrooms was great too and came in handy. The kitchen was well equipped and although we didn't end up cooking there, I would have had no problem using it to fix a few meals. The living room overlooked the garden and the couches were comfortable spots to enjoy the view. I liked that extra supplies were available in the laundry room should guests need any. The location was wonderful, we had a lot of options to pick from for our meals within walking distance. Sri was very prompt in his communications with the booking and I'd like to thank him for that. I would highly recommend this place for all types of travelers looking for a place to call home during their San Francisco visit.

We recently stayed in this flat while vacationing with family in San Francisco. Staying in the flat meant that our whole family could be together. It was so much nicer than a hotel when traveling with a three year old. The bathrooms are nice, beds where comfortable and the kitchen has nice appliances. The flat was just as described and shown in the photos. My son who lives in the city described it as very nice for the neighborhood. The street in front is a little busy and there is some noise but it is the city. It is convenient to the bus, groceries, and restaurants. Nopa is close and it was a great restaurant for a special night out. Would definately consider staying there again with a group.

We went to San Francisco wanting a fun trip and this house helped us accomplish this quite easily! The location is right by Alamo Square and the famous painted ladies. The house is more spacious than the pictures do it justice. Every room is quite large, with a good kitchen and great rest/tv room. Parking wasn't bad on the streets, grocery stores are near by, as well as the house being central and close to everything. One of the things I think we enjoyed most was staying in a location that gave us a genuine San Francisco feel. The house made you feel like it wasn't necessarily a vacation. I recommend this house to anyone traveling in the San Francisco area.

We loved the apt, it was fabulous! The area is perfect and close to everthing. It is a VERY short walk to Safeway, and area restaurants etc. The only detractor is that somehow you get the impression there is more than one bathroom...but all was well. The beds very comfortable, the kitchen clean and modern. We would definately stay again for another visit.

We stayed in the Alamo Garden property in August 2010. Everything within the apartment was consistent with our expectations and there was nothing to disappoint. It provided an excellent base for the exploration of San Francisco, being just a few moments from Alamo Square and various bus routes and also a short walk to the Golden Gate Panhandle and Haight Ashbury district. We found the apartment very "child friendly" and had no problems with our four young children within it, although be warned that the beds are high off the ground. There is also a cot. The kitchen was entirely adequate for our needs and all facilities such as washer, tumble dryer, dishwasher etc were in good working order. It was a brilliant place to stay and I would recomment it highly to anyone. I suppose that to walk down to say Fisherman's Wharf would be somewhere between 1.5 and 2 miles, but the buses are plentiful, easy to deal with and take about 15 minutes to the heart of downtown. There are several excellent restaurants and shops nearby (particularly Falletti's just a 5 minute walk away.) The district appeared very safe and there were no concerns about walking around day or night. All in all, excellent and we were very pleased with our holiday.

My family rented the Alamo Square apartment for a week in July. We really enjoyed having a place to stay which was out of the tourist center. My husband grew up in CA and had visited SF many times, but living in the city was a new experience for him. The apartment was very nice and clean with plenty of towels and toiletries. The pull-out sofa bed was comfortable, although there was not a complete set of bedding for it when we arrived. Any concerns or requests we had were addressed immediately by our contact person.. We would definitely stay here again.
