THis house had everything you want in a vacation home in the Keys. It was only a 2 hour drive from Ft Lauderdale and good access to everything you want in the Keys, good restaurants, shopping, boating, etc. The house is well kept, great king bed, great showers, well appointed kitchen, washer/dryer, the upstairs bedroom now has full cable. My 17 year old loved the private downstairs bedroom with full bath. The pool is very large, right on a canal with ocean and gulf access for kayaking and boating. The owner got us a great deal on boats and kayaks at the local marina only 2 miles away. Even the dog had a good time running around the second floor deck. Can't wait to go back!

The downstairs bedroom is only accessible from outside (like it's supposed to be a garage or boat house), it has a wall a/c unit, is humid and musky smelling (we stored our fishing and scuba equipment there and were able to use the bathroom as a pool bath). The owner is easy to deal with but as another review stated the carpet, fixtures, doors, flooring and furniture are all very tired and in need of some updating (like walking through a time warp to the 70's with a bit of somewhat more modern island nick-knacks here and there). Had a slight black ant issue in bathrooms and kitchen but spraying Raid the first day there made for an ant-free rest of week. The grounds-keeping could be better, found litter throughout the carport and patio areas. The master is very spacious with a King bed, old and worn bedding though. Master has shower, no tub, and very little water pressure from shower-head. Faucet handles in upstairs guest bath were installed backwards. The TV's in both the master and upstairs guest rooms either are not hooked to cable box or don't work. The dryer seemed to have a heating element issue (took forever to dry a single load of towels). Not a huge selection of linens but there is a blow-up mattress (full/double) in the upstairs guest bedroom closet. Both the upstairs guest bedroom and the downstairs efficiency unit have two twin beds and neither of the couches pull-out as the listing description states but the TV downstairs does work. Very spacious carport and upstairs/downstairs patios...could use new patio furniture. The pool has recently been refinished -- beautiful! However the pool light does not work and the pool itself does not have much of a shallow end (warning for young children). The outdoor lighting switches weren't easy to find and/or bulbs were burned-out, so very dark outside when returning in the evenings. If your looking for a place to sleep, cook a few meals, and get ready in with a great location, water access to both the Atlantic and Florida Bay at an affordable rate (although, boat drop fees at the Hawk's Cay Marina are both ways -- in and out)...this may be the place for you. We enjoyed most of our time outdoors: swimming in the pool and canal, fishing, wadding in the shallows of Tom's Harbor and other fun in the sun offerings. This property met almost all of our criteria but did fall short of our expectations!

House is in great location, close to activities on and off of Duck Key. Nice place for families. Pool was great and balcony overlooking the water is really nice. Large kitchen was nice for multi family group. There was no pull out couch, but we had plenty of room for two families with children to sleep. Would stay again, really enjoyed our vacation.

The property location is great, very spacious with a nice view, but the furniture and the carpet are old needs to be up day nothing mach, the carpet, the kitchen cabinets, all the doors and the door are also olds need to be replace of the, the property is listing with to Queen bed and it is not Queen bed it is to single beds.
