This is our second stay at the Grand Champions. This is a quiet, family friendly place in warm, peaceful Wailea. When other parts of the islands are windy and rainy it's beautiful here. Waliea is a planned community with world class resorts but without the traffic of Lahina or Kapalua. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with tropical flowers and this unit backs up to a garden jungle green belt. There are two pools, one for families and one quiet pool. The unit is tastefully decorated, quite spacious and quiet except for the lovely sounds of birds singing. The open beam ceilings, ceiling fans in both bedrooms and the living room and ample windows and doors. Air conditioning units and flat screen tvs are in each bedroom and living room. WiFi Internet access and a desk make work possible. Bird species we saw off the back lanai: Zebra Dove, Spotted Dove, Red Crested Cardinal, Northern Cardinal, House sparrow, House Finch, and Mynah Birds. They easily come for treats. There's a lovely blue water ocean view from the Front Master Bedroom, porch and a small ocean view from the rear bedroom which has sliding glass doors out to the lanai with garden views. Twin beds can be put together and were super comfortable. Not suitable for handicapped or the infirm as it is up many stairs. There are beach umbrellas, towels, snorkels etc. Highly recommend the Pacific Whale Foundation's Whale watch cruise if you are visiting in Dec-March. We saw about 20 whales on our trip. Wonderful beaches within walking distance for the fit otherwise less than 5 min. drive. Golf and Tennis on site.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
