Description of the apartment -
· This quiet 2 bedroom apartment has a terrace and is on the 6th floor(US terms), without elevator. It has air-conditioning, heating, and a full kitchen with pots & pans, dishes, etc. that is open to the living area. The living area has a dining table and chairs, a sofa bed (sleeps 1 person), 21-inch TV, DVDs and stereo. There is 1 full bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower, and 1 extra sink in the laundry room.
Apartment ideally suited for 4 people, though it can sleep up to 5.
Description of location -
· The apartment is located in the Old City (Ciutat Vella), in the fashionable Borne neighborhood, and is very near the Gothic church of Santa Maria del Mar, the port, Ciutadella Park, Picasso Museum, and the Santa Caterina market, to name a few. It is also close to the beaches and Las Ramblas. There are many cafes, restaurants, tapas bars, and shops in the neighborhood. The Santa Caterina market has fresh meat, produce, and cheeses, similar to the more famous Boqueria market (which is also close), but less crowded and does not have some of the more exotic things.
Transportation -
· The apartment is less than 5 minutes walking from the metro station of Jaume I on the yellow line. There is also a bus stop close to the apartment with many bus lines that can take you to other places of interest in the city, if you don't feel like walking. The city buses are nice and modern, and run often.
There is also a parking garage close to the apartment, although renting a car in Barcelona is not recommended.

Thanks so much for a wonderful week at your apartment. We loved the location - exploring the Born-Ribera neighborhood and the adjacent Barri Gotic was an absolute highlight of the trip. The Metro was easily accessible, the waterfront is close by, and the staff at the rental company is very personable and responsive (thanks, Marcela and Melanie!). The pictures are true to the space - it's cozy and the roof-deck is great for breakfast or an evening glass of wine. Wi-fi was helpful. The kitchen is stocked with pans, basic utensils, plates, etc. and the W&D are nice to have if needed. Bathroom is tiny but functional, and the walk up the stairs is lengthy but do-able.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We debated about which part of Barcelona to stay in, and Born was perfect! So many fantastic restaurants, quaint stores, and a great hub from which to explore the city. The apartment was perfect for my husband and I. Although the stairs were plentiful, the private rooftop patio was definitely worth it! The kitchen looked well stocked (but we only used it for coffee in the mornings, since there were so many great eateries right by)! Our internet was a little finicky while we were there, which was our only semi-complaint! We always felt safe, even coming home in the wee hours. I definitely would recommend the place for any couple... might get tight with larger groups (depending on how well you vacation together). I really enjoyed working with the owners... the whole process was seamless, and I would definitely book through them again!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Dear Lauren, The apartment was great, as was your other studio apartment that we stayed in last year - both places are great - thank you so much for renting to us! It's so much nicer staying in an apartment (rather than a hotel). I have to admit, all of the stairs here were a bit of suprise at first - luckily we only travel with one light backpack each!
