Bike and hike (8 miles)around Lake Waramaug. Hike the Pinnacle for breathtaking views. Dine in the fine restaurants and travel the surrounding Wine Trail. This location offers wonderful hiking, biking, fishing, bird watching and skiing with fabulous shops and restaurants all in the area. This is an antique hunters paradise. I stayed with my 3 small boys in this lovely cottage, while visiting family on Lake Waramaug. Location was fantastic, and description was right on. The pictures did not do the landscape justice. Gorgeous.My boys were in heaven, as was I, fishing, exploring and sitting by the river. The property was stocked and the owner could not have been more helpful, bringing us extra futon and linens, even showing my boys how to pick up a snapping turtle...and providing the bucket! We will hope to return next summer.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.
