HIDDEN RIVER CABIN is a secluded, light and airy cedar vacation cabin, on the Chestatee River.

Enjoy the lovely view and sounds of the shoals and rapids from the screened porch or walk 30 yards to enjoy a picnic by the river. Double sliding glass doors lead from the vaulted ceiling living room and the kitchen onto the 22' screened porch so you can enjoy the river view from inside the cabin. At Hidden River Cabin we pride ourselves on the cleanliness and value provided to our many repeat customers.

Dahlongea’s historic downtown is a short 15 minutes from Hidden River Cabin. It is the home of the oldest courthouse in the State of Georgia. The courthouse has been preserved as a museum showcasing Dahlonega’s history as the site of the first U.S. gold rush in 1828. The historic downtown buildings house many shops and restaurants. The Smith House (visitors can see the goldmine that was recently discovered under the dining area) offering country cooking is a historic family style buffet worth visiting. The weekends are filled with many activities including festivals, arts, and music. The Holly Theatre offers many Broadway plays for evening enjoyment.

There are many things to do in Dahlonega including outdoor sports like kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, cycling, and golf. Dahlonega has been designated as Georgia’s premier cycling community in addition to being one of the legs of the Tour de Georgia. The Chamber of Commerce hosts the 6 gap and 3 gap cycling events in September and October of each year.

If outdoors sports are not for you there are also several vineyards including Wolf Mountain Vineyards, Three Sisters Vineyards, Frogtown Vineyards, and Blackstock Vineyards. There are also many antique shops, arts and crafts shops, wildlife preserves and festivals to explore. Lake Lanier is also only 30 minutes south of Dahlonega.

STATE PARKS in the area are Vogel, Amicalola Falls, Unicoi, Smithgall Woods, Lake Winfield Scott, and Moccasin Creek. They have beautiful lakes and recreational facilities such as boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and mini-golf.

Hidden River Cabin on the Chestatee River
5/5

Just what we needed!

Guest: Portie People (Atlanta, GA)
Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/31/11

This cabin was perfect for our needs...very comfortable, peaceful and cozy. Dog friendly but also clean, smelled nice and didn't have any reminders of previous pets. The water nearby gave my husband the opportunity to fly fish. We took full advantage of the nearby wineries and downtown Dahlonega. Overall exactly what we needed for a weekend escape and the price was perfect...we will be coming back!
