La Faiencerie is a recently renovated Charentais farmhouse on the edge of the village of Clerac. There is a small shop , a bakery , a restaurant , post office , hairdresser and a museum. The house is situated in a unique area of France known as The Garden of France. It produces a vast array of fruit and vegetables, as well as a wealth of fresh fish and shellfish, duck and poultry plus excellent pates. The region has the 2nd most hours of sunshine in France after the Cote d'Azur.
All of the famous wine producing areas are on our doorstep. Medoc, St. Emilion, Pomerol, Lalinde de Pomerol, Blaye, Bourg and also Cognac.
Bordeaux, is just a 40 minute drive away and with its superb cheap tram system it is a city well worth a visit. One of the nicest cities to wander around . Eat ,drink and soak up the atmosphere.
During the summer months there is music, dance, art and food festivals all over the region.
The Atlantic coast has surfing beaches easily accessible, plus many lakes and lagoons for safe bathing.
Whether you want to walk, cycle or drive around the area, there is plenty to see and do or just stay by the pool or on the terrace and enjoy the rest.
There is a second 2 bedroom , 2 bathroom house available. They are next to each other, so we can accommodate upto a party of 10.
