If you are searching for an affordable vacation getaway with a Caribbean atmosphere, filled with sunshine, tropical breezes, warm, clear blue ocean waters, and white sandy beaches stretching as far as you can see; look no further!
My newly renovated (2008), furnished and fully equipped studio apartment at Coral Beach is a very affordable way to enjoy the beauty of the Silver Reef and Lucayan Beaches on the southern side of Grand Bahama Island. It comes with a Queen size bed as well as a Queen size pull-out sofa bed. There is a cable television, internet connection and air conditioning.
Coral Beach has 24 hour security. There are shared laundry facilities on each floor and a convenience store and hair salon on site.
The apartment is on the second floor of three, in the center building of three. Just imagine having your morning coffee on the balcony, taking in a magnificent direct view to the ocean boasting three miles of white talc beach. All at your doorstep. There is also a freshwater pool to enjoy.
A short 20 minute stroll down the beach to the left brings you to “Billy Joe’s” for great food and drink! Right beside is a variety of water sports outlets including para sailing, banana boats, snorkeling, cruises and such. The Westin and Sheraton hotels and the Isle of Capri casino are there as well.
Across from the casino is Port Lucaya market place which features shopping, restaurants, sidewalk cafés and nightly entertainment. Here you can also arrange for a swim with the dolphins or scuba and deep sea fishing.
Getting around:
Grand Bahama International Airport is a 10 minute drive. Estimated cab fare each way is $18-20
There is a lobby phone to call a taxi anytime.
There are public buses which stop at the top of Coral Rd. a five minute walk from the lobby.

We spent our Christmas vacation at this condo in Freeport and were completely satisfied! It's a clean affordable place with a fantastic location. The apartment is located overlooking a tropical path leading directly to a pristine beach with pristine water. Here, you are within walking distance of Port Lucaya marketplace and city buses are plentiful and accomodating- well worth the $1.25 for the ride. The apartment was well-equipped and comfortable. The staff are also very friendly and helpful with information and advice. We found Freeport to be interesting as well as we were able to interact with more local people. The Beach Bar has excellent conch fritters and makes an incredible Greek salad at decent prices. As we had a full kitchen, we were able to cook some local fare ourselves. We found groceries to be quite pricey (much like Manhattan), check the local newspaper to find the best grocery prices. We were completely satisfied and had a great time! We will be back, it's a great place to stay!

The Coral Beach Condo is pretty much what you see in the photographs. There were 2 of us and there was certainely enough space and amentities for us. The main living areas and bed are very comfortable and the view from the balcony was amazing. We ate breakfast outside on the balcony every day. The kitchen has a stove, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee maker etc. everything you could need in a vaction rental and everything was clean. We really liked the Coral Beach Resort. The beach is fantastic and it was an easy 20 minute walk to Port Lucaya restaturants, shops etc. The rsort has its own beach bar/restaurant which I would suggest is one of the better places to go for good reasonable food. It was easy to get around the island. We used the local jitneys (buses) for getting around locally. The drivers are great and will go out of their way to take you to supermarkets, the Fish Fry, and other local beaches. Just ask them. Taxis are cheap and when the jitneys stop running about 7 p.m. we used taxi's to get back from Port Lucaya. We also rented a car to tour round the island. I would recomment this condo and the Coral Beach to those who are looking for a relaxing get-away beach vacation. We rented a car one day and drove into the town and to Gold Rock Beach. We've travelled a lot an d this is one of the best beaches I've ever seen. Port Lucaya has a lot of reastaurants and there are some pretty good places to eat. We liked Cappacino's the best, we had a really great meal there and it was fairly reasonable. I also enjoyed Agave. The only bad food experience was at the Prop Club - definately one to avoid. The service was non existant and the food inedible. In fact after the Prop Club we decided that we wouldn't eat at any of the restaurants operated by the Lucaya Resort. There are lots of Coral Beach owners who congregate at the pool or at the bar and they give us lots of helpful advise about good local restaturants etc. The owners of the Coral Beach Bar/Restaurant were really helpful as well. There's Happy Hour everynight and food specials. We ate at the resort quite a few times and we liked it. We loved the Coral beach Resort. Its a good all round choice. There were singles, couples and families, there was a good friendly atmosphere and the beach is awesome. I would have no hesitation in renting this condo again and we have already recommended it to friends
