Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
Who are we and how did we get here? We are Scott Behrens and Elizabeth (Liz) Hart-Behrens. Just a couple of crazy Gringos that set off to find some good surf on our sailboat "Ocean Lady" in 2004.
We sailed over 15,000 miles up and down the Pacific coast of California, Mexico and Central America with 2 dogs and a cat! We sailed into Nicaragua in the Spring of 2007 and fell in love with the country, the people and the surf!
So, we swallowed the anchor and settled down to build on our little slice of paradise, Rancho Cecilia.
We now call San Juan del Sur and Rancho Cecilia home and would love to show you our little rancho.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Surf, sun and fun. Come stay with us on your vacation and we will send you home toned and tanned!

We had a great time staying at Rancho Cecilia. Liz and Scott took us surfing everyday to their favorite break, cooked excellent meals and were great hosts! The area is so beautiful. We will come back to Nicaragua soon for another visit.

What a fantastic place to stay and Scott & Liz were the perfect hosts. We stayed for 4 weeks in Aug/Sept and the trip was fabulous. The accommodations were exactly as described. Rancho Cecilia is very peaceful & relaxing and being up in the jungle was a wonderful experience listening to all of the sounds. You could spend the entire time out on the patio watching & listening to the world go by. San Juan del Sur was a wonderful town with lots to do, day & night. Scott & Liz were always available to suggest activities & offer up rides to the local surf beach. The perfect place to stay while in Nicaragua.

Rancho Cecilia is a true gem. Scott and Liz have a great thing going and are laid back and gracious hosts. The surf is great and the town of San Juan del Sur is a perfect little Central American hideaway. The casita is just right after a day of waves and exploring, and I'll never forget falling asleep to the music of the jungle all around me. I was impressed by the fact that our electricity was all produced right there with the solar panels. How cool! I'll go back to Nicaragua, partly because it's a fun and non commercial place to be, and partly because I can't wait to be back at the Rancho Cecilia.

If you surf you gotta stay here... Plain and simple... I stumbled into town and had the good fortune to find this little Gem.. Scott & Liz even picked me up! I stayed for a week in the Casita and surfed almost everyday, it was easy as they went to Maderas everyday so I just hopped in the back of the truck went and with them. Their place had Howler monkeys in the morning, a restaraunt about 10 min walk through the jungle that serves cold beer, and San Juan actually has night life... And Guys ( Hay Chicas muy linda la Verdad....) Stay here if you like to surf plain and simple as it is close to the beach and you can hitch there if your to lazy to walk..

nice out of the way place to stay that is clean and comfortable. having not surfed much in the last two years i enjoyed the local surf spot for its lack of a crowd. could not have asked for anything else and am looking forward to going back in the late fall early winter.
