A group of us met at Moccasin Lodge for a reunion. The house was clean, well laid out and had plenty of nice beds with comfortable linens. There was a brand new grill which worked great and an outdoor fire pit on the back deck. Between the hot tub, the TV's, the game room and the nearby lake and recreation center which were both walking distance there was something for everyone to do. The owners made sure all my questions were answered and helped suggest a great nearby BBQ restaurant to try while we were there.

Beautiful area

My family all gathered (15 of us) for a birthday event. The accomodations had ample bedding for all and plenty of space to where no one ever felt one on top of the other. We loved the layout of the home. There is a small creek in the back that you can hear when sitting on the back porch. Loved looking out at night time with the other lit homes, very pretty. Even thought the weather was warmer than the season called for, at night a fire would have been nice but the fireplace would not light. The master bedroom T.V. remote did not change the cable channels so you could only watch the golf channel, lol. (I assume someone has deprogrammed it). And now even though the contract states that the hot tub is not guaranteed (which we found out a few days before going) we were saddened that it does not heat much (just warm). This was a let down since the other activities such as tubing and skiing were closed due to the warmer weather and it would have then been nice to enjoy the hot tub. The jacuzzi however was a nice retreat for a few of us who really wanted that relaxation and is very comfortable. I believe some love and elbow grease needs to be given to the propane grill and to the toaster oven, but other than that the cooking tools and kitchen accessories were magnificent. Also there is a great reading nook on the upper level that you can open the window, read a book and simply enjoy a little sun. There was ample towels and linens. We would definitely stay again, even with the minor dissappointments.

We were never notified of any concerns listed above, therefore, we were never able to remediate the issues. We have a hot tub specialist on call for any hot tub issues. We have had the specialist check out the hot tub after this review; he said the tub is working great, just needed an adjustment to the thermometer. We pride ourselves in our homes and we strive to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. Inevitably, issues arise but we always address the concerns promptly until a resolution to the problem is found.

Great house for a two family stay

We stayed for a weekend at this house in November, and all loved it. It was super clean, with a large, open floor plan. The bedrooms were big and spread out on the three floors, giving us all separate space. The kitchen was well-stocked and nice. Owners are super nice and helpful. Kids had a great time at the waterpark, and we enjoyed hiking in Shenandoah National Park. We would definitely stay here again!

Spacious, Comfortable and Beautiful

We rented this house with a group of friends and our kids and everybody was extremely pleased with the house. The living area was very spacious and could accomodate our large group and was also cozy and comfortable with the gas fireplace. The house was very clean, well-maintained and stocked with everything we needed for kitchen items and linens. The number of beds and bedroom combinations was also extremely helpful. We thought the area was beautiful and enjoyed some of the many activities close by like miniature golf, the playground and hiking. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond to our questions. We are excited have found this house and look forward to renting it in the future!

Romantic private hideaway!

My boyfriend and I stayed here to enjoy our first anniversary together. We had a great weekend truly the romantic weekend we were looking for what a beautiful home! The house was well stocked with all the comforts of home all we needed was ourselves. It was also very close to several romantic wineries, Sara and Brain we’re so helpful what a great couple. We would defiantly return!

We are the absolute worst at planning anything! We are very "last minute" type of people and I am sure it drives lots of people nuts! We bugged Brian and Sara via email and phone, at least 15 times over the course of about a week, to book a mini-weekend get away. They were friendly, helpful and gracious. If we drove them crazy - they never let on :) Our little family of three (plus the dog), had a wonderful time at Moccasin Lodge! The location was perfect - as we could easily drive to any of the Resort amenities. The home was comfortable and the size/layout is perfect for larger groups, but did not overwhelm the 3 of us. We have recommended it to several friends and family members. In fact, our stay inspired us to start looking for a property in Massanutten, to purchase for ourselves! We will be returning this summer (with extended family in tow...) to begin our search - and hope to book Moccasin Lodge again, for our stay!

My family recently spent a week at Moccasin Lodge. The house was located in a perfect spot, it was close to everything but still had a secluded feel being surrounded by woods. My kids enjoyed the convenience to the golf course and main lodge while my wife and I enjoyed relaxing in the mountains. The back decks are very nice, the hot tub is a relaxing addition and the kitchen had more cookware than we have at home! We didn't have any problems the entire week but the owners still called and checked in on us to make sure everything was going well. Over all it was a great experience!

My entire family stayed at Moccasin Lodge and we are so happy that we did! It was beautifully decorated throughout the house. We loved the convenient location to the resort amenities and enjoyed the peaceful wooded area that surrounded the house. My kids enjoyed the downstairs play area, especially the pool table, and we enjoyed the large living/kitchen area for relaxing. Brian and Sara were available throughout our entire stay and were more than happy to answer any questions that we had. I can tell they have put a lot of time and love into making this house comfortable for renters. We have already planned our next vacation back to Moccasin Lodge at Massanutten. I think this house goes above and beyond to make a "getaway" relaxing!

We decided to come to the Massanutten resort area for my in-laws 50th anniversary. Moccasin Lodge had everything we needed to make it a special weekend for my in-laws with the family being able to stay all together. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had pool passes available for us to use during our stay. It is a wonderful house and we are definitely planning on going back this winter.

Clean and roomy in a beautiful area!

We rented this lodge with my brother and his family. There were four adults, eight children and a dog there for the weekend and there was plenty of room. We had a wonderful weekend and found the lodge to be comfortable and very clean. This was our first time to Massanutten and the area is beautiful with lots to do. The pictures and write-up of the property are accurate. We struggled a bit in the kitchen with finding adequate utensils, pots and pans and mixing bowls, but we are a large group and we like to cook. Otherwise, the place was delightful. My son left something valuable in the lodge and Brian and Sara were so helpful in finding it for us and returning it. (Thank you again!) We would rent it again for sure!

More than adequate but not spectacular

House was as advertised (large and clean with furniture as listed). Good location inside a development. View of woods with good privacy but no real "vista" of mountains etc - again, as advertised. House is large and, while not luxurious, is comfortable and well-maintained. Issue is twofold: the hot-tub does NOT work (this was critical to us) and owner is not pro-active in addressing this or other concerns, if any. House is more than fine but one should have realistic expectations: hot tub is busted and owner will not go out of his/her way should guests have any special requests/needs/issues. Still recommend as we got a great deal compared to other places....

Owner response:Thanks for your review! We've never responded to reviews of our properties in the past but felt compelled to clarify a few things. Our goal at Moccasin Lodge is to have everything perfect for our guests as advertised and if problems arise, fix them as quickly as possible. To ensure this happens, we have a property manager available around the clock and a cleaning company on call to handle related issues. In this situation, we were forced to deal with a third party spa service company which left us powerless. We contacted the spa company on an hourly basis, made two different trips to the store and even offered to pay the company extra to put our spa at the top of their list. The spa company found that the "issue" was a reset button that did not affect the performance of the hot tub. It was luckily an easy fix but required several days of trouble shooting. These guests also failed to mention that the spa was fixed for the second half of their visit and we credited them with a night at moccasin lodge on us. There are a lot of things that go into fixing specialty items such as a hot tub. Usually, these problems take several days to resolve and unfortunately, we cannot anticipate or predict problems. We feel we did all that we could have done and worked diligently to correct all issues. We have now picked up an additional spa service company so we have more technicians on hand should we have a problem with the spa in the future. Thanks again for commenting on Moccasin Lodge.

Fabulous House!

We stayed at Moccasin Lodge for our daughter's graduation from James Madison University. This house had everything that we could imagine! Lovely decor, comfortable beds, and a very well equipped kitchen. We had a BBQ with another family, and noticed that the propane tank was empty, but not to worry, we made one phone call and within no time, they delivered a full tank! We couldn't have asked for faster service! Thanks!! It was a pleasure to stay in this house and to be able to accomodate our entire family, especially the Grandmothers who would not have been able to come if we stayed in a hotel. I can't say enough good things about this house! We hope to come back next year as she will be graduating with her Master's Degree in May! Thanks so much Sara and Brian for your wonderful hospitality! GO DUKES!!!!

Great Location

We really enjoyed our time at Massanutten and the homes central location was great. It's in the middle part of the resort so it's convenient to everything we wanted to do...Golf, Putt Putt, Go Carts, Zip Line and the Tube rides were just 5 minutes away. The owners were easy to work with when there was an issue with the upstairs AC unit, they had it fixed within just a couple of hours. We look forward to our next visit.

I was looking for a last minute getaway and was able to make the reservation with these owners in 24 hours!! They were terrific. They really just wanted you to have a good time and enjoy their home. The house had EVERYTHING that you needed! And everything was so comfortable.. you did not feel like you were in a rental home at all! I was able to relax and enjoyed my stay there much more than I originally thought I would. I would recommend this house to everyone thinking of coming up to Massanutten!!!
