This cozy cabin, located just 30-50 feet from the river, is beautifully accommodated. With a queen size bed downstairs and another queen size bed upstairs also with bunk beds, there is room to sleep up to 4 adults and 2 children.
It features a hot tub on the open deck overlooking the Chestatee River. There's good fishing in the river just a few feet away. A small boat, canoe and kayak are available for guests to you. Complete with charcoal grill, satellite TV and all the amenities guests of Cavender Creek Cabins have come to expect.

Before I get to the cabin let me explain how we were misled. There is a link on the listing page that takes you to the "Chestatee River Cabin Homepage". That link shows you the resort grounds, a mountain lodge for guests to use, a fully stocked pond, hiking trails, and a gazebo. This is what I thought we were booking. When we arrived I was given a map to the location of this cabin, the owners of Cavender Creek Cabins do not own this cabin, they merely help to manage it. We were all disappointed about losing these amenities, especially the kids. The cabin itself is down a very bumpy, unpaved road with some sort of creepy deer stand directly across the street. The outside of the cabin was nice, there are multiple decks, hammock and a boat launch we did not try out any of those. Fishing would be hard becuse there is a lot of tree debris in front of the lower deck. The inside is nice, very small but it worked fine for my family of four. There is a good selection of Disney movies for the kids. The bed in the master was hard to get out of if there are two people in bed because one whole side is up against a wall. It is very squeaky too, if you toss and turn you will wake your wife/husband up. Part way through the first night I left to go sleep upstairs with the kids. The cabin needs to be exterminated for ants. There were large black ants in the kitchen every morning and we had to store dry goods in the fridge. The bathroom shower was very nice. The cabin was stocked with most things that you would need like napkins, towels, even bandaids which was nice. We looked for checkout guidelines from the owner but there were not any. On the last day of our stay we pulled off all of the linens and cleaned all of the dishes to make it easier for the maid. The cabin is in a central location - we went to both Helen and Dahlonega during our stay.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
