Why the Owner Chose Wailana Sands
I chose Wailana Sands because I walked in and said YES!! I can do something with this! I shopped on all islands and this was the cutest Hawaiian style I found. I love the small quaint 10 unit size and loved the green grassy pool area and garden..It is very rare to find lawn around any pool area it is usually ugly cement. I love that I can see the ocean and hear it at night. To have the waves crashing while one sleeps is wonderful. I love my owner/neighbors and they rent to a lovely quality of tenants,mostly vacationers. It is very peaceful and relaxing.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
I swim in the pool everyday and the ocean also. I walk on the beach for 5 miles if I wish. Windsurfing and and stand up paddling are all with in walking distance. I can walk to the market if I wish.

I am born and raised in California. An old California Girl, (well baby boomer). Lived here as a 21 year old and will come back someday. So for now you all get to enjoy it with me until I take it over full time....I will retire here, just don't know how yet so help me keep it and come rent it and have fun!!!!!

Awesome place to stay. Very clean, has everything you need to cook, right down to the cork screw. Nice TV with dvd's and books for relaxing by the very well kept pool. We used the barbeques every night and ate at the tables at the pool. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and wouldn't bother even looking for another place. If you're not looking for a gigantic condo with massive luxuries and a big price tag, this is perfect! The next door neighbor was super friendly as well and offered lots of useful tips of things to do and local places to go.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children.

My wife and I spent 7 nights here in November and we loved this property. Comfortable bed, fully stocked kitchen, wifi, cable tv and the pool area has 2 BBQs! Not to mention the ultra-convenient central location in Kihei, nearby a large shopping center with grocery store and Starbucks :-). During our stay we made the drive around the entire island spread over 2 days. Hana was amazing, hiked the waterfall/bamboo forest and did some wine tasting at Tedeschi on way back. Try the pineapple wine. Also did the drive up North, roadside banana bread is a must. Although the unpaved roads are not terrible, I would reccommend renting a jeep. MauiJeepRentals got us a great deal for the week. My only caveat is to avoid the volcano bikeride. Drive to the top and enjoy the view on your own, but riding a bike down is very dangerous. We witnessed a very bad accident with head injuries. Luckily our tour group had a half dozen nurses to tend to the accident victim until an ambulance arrived. In summation, we would definately stay here again. The neighbors were very friendly and Allen next door made some reccommendations for places to see. Thank you Christie!!
