Our family were guests at Tahoma for a week beginning July 18. The townhouse has plenty of room for a family to spread out and yet is very cozy and comfortable. Being nestled in among the pinetrees gave us a very peaceful feeling but we were just a short drive from the casinos and beaches. We would like to return next year!Did you find this review helpful? Nancy was very professional and went out of her way to help accommodate us at her place. She had more cooking/cleaning supplies than I do in my own house. She was very detailed and easy to deal with. At the end of the stay she called and asked if their was anything she could do better to enhance the stay for future vacationers. The only suggestion I had was a pizza cutter. The house itself was very clean and had a spacious den and kitchen. We did not do any cooking, but if we had, we would of had everything needed. The one thing that she did suggest that we didn't do was a car. If I were staying here again I would get a car as a cab was about $12.00 to the gondola. It was very convenient to the casinos and Gondola and in a quiet neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Tahoe. Thanks again for the great stay. This was a really nice clean home. Tahoma was well supplied with comfortable beds and linens. There was plenty of room for our party of six to spead out and have space. The beaches and casinos were minutes away, yet the surrounding complex was very quiet and well maintained. We enjoyed the pool and even played a bit of tennis. We enjoyed several short hikes around the Tahoe basin. We are definately going to book mark Tahoma, as it is a very well supplied and affordable getaway for a family such as ours.Nancy, the owner was very good about answering our questions and pointing us to some local attractions in the area.Did you find this review helpful? There were good and not good things about this condo. One great thing was how quiet the complex was and how safe it felt. It was 5 minutes from the action, yet you could leave the windows and slider open all night. It was so quiet you could take an afternoon nap or go to bed early without being disturbed by people partying. It had a nice pool area that was uncrowded, though not close enough for us to walk to. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The condo kitchen was fairly well supplied with things like sugar, salt & pepper, coffee filters and there was even laundry soap. They also had pool towls, books, games and some movies. One of the things we were unprepared for was the amount of stairs. The garage was on the ground floor, up one flight was the sleeping level (and front door), then up another flight was the living and kitchen. So all groceries had to be carried up 2 long flights. Also, the outside stairs were slightly slanted and felt dangerous going down. The other problem was the beds and living furniture were uncomfortable. There was only a couch, a broken down chair with ottoman and a wooden bench with a pad to sit on (not comfortable). Our week just happened to be freakishly warm (88 degrees every day) so the living area got quite hot by afternoon (no fans), so we ended up vacating to the pool or casinos. Overall, the place needed updating. However, it was very clean.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: In the past 11 years of managing 3 properties is Lake Village I have never had a review like this one. Granted, she rated us 4 out of 5 yet most of her comments are without basis. As an owner I always try to contact the guest once they get settled in. During this guests visit I spoke with a gentleman who stated that everything was fine. After reading this review I spoke with the current guest who also stayed last summer. The guest stated the beds were comfortable and the furniture was fine and perfect for their needs. In her comments the writer claims the furniture was uncomfortable consisting of broken furniture. Upon her departure we did find a broken caster on the ottoman that we repaired in minutes. There is and was nothing wrong with the couch, chair, and the beds checked out fine. This was confirmed by the next two groups of guests who stayed the following weeks. Two weeks prior to this guest, I spent the week in Tahoma. We deep cleaned, had the carpets and furnishings shampooed, and inventoried and replaced supplies. I slept in the master bed and was very comfortable. During my visit, all beds were flipped and inspected for damage and proper support. The majority of our hotel quality beds are equipped with additional memory foam or similar padding to add comfort. The other furnishings in Tahoma are relatively new and in excellent condition. The dining room has eight padded comfortable chairs. Our home has ceiling fans in each bedroom and excellent ventilation. There is no problem with the safety of the stairs. They are stable and meet the building codes. All homes in Lake Village are at least two stories. Additionally most Lake Tahoe residences have stairs. There has always been a photo of the exterior and the presence of stairs is in no way concealed in our listings. The bottom line is that had this guest called me I would have had the broken caster replaced immediately and would have suggested she utilize the dining chairs for more seating. Despite claiming the beds were uncomfortable the guest stated she could leave the windows and slider open all night. It was so quiet she could take an afternoon nap or go to bed early without being disturbed by people partying. I regret that this guest was unhappy with our amenities. Fortunately her opinions are not mirrored by many guests who return yearly and refer others. We will continue striving to provide the best quality and value for our visitors. We never want to have an unhappy guest. Nancy, Owner

This is a great condo, close to everything in a quiet secluded condo development just east of the casinos. We recommend the prime rib at the Lakeside Inn just west of the condo. We stayed for three nights and four days and had a great time. There is a Safeway store close by just east of the condo and very handy. We even entertained on Sunday night and had plenty of room for our group of 8 around the large dining room table. The gas barbecue on the deck was great for grilling and the home is neat, clean and big enough for a gathering. The two bedrooms are large enough to cater to two couples or a family and the two bathrooms are perfect. We used the hot tub each night and having an enclosed garage to park our two cars was a huge bonus to me. Nancy was easy to deal with and the condo was ready when we arrived and all was in order. I highly recommend this condo and it was a bargain at the price. We will be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our family of 4 adults and 2 kids had a very comfortable stay at Tahoma Lodge. The home was warm and comfortable, the kitchen and towels were well stocked, and access to attractions was easy. The beds were a bit soft but bearable for a short stay. To top it all, the owner was incredible - I woke her up by calling her at 11 PM to ask for directions (because I had lost my scrap of paper) and she cheerfully guided me to the home. That's service!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Our goal is to provide everything for our guest's comfortable visit. One of the primary needs of our visitors is a clean comfortable bed! We have firm hotel quality mattresses in our three vacation homes. What may have confused VJ is the addition of a one and a half inch memory foam topper below the mattress pad on each of the beds. This provides a cushioning effect and extra comfort. It does not cause any loss of firmness in the matress structure, and can be easily slipped out by the guests if they desire. To date, our cleaning staff has never found the topper removed after a guest departure! I am pleaseed thet VJ reccommended our home and enjoyed the amenities, location, and warmth of Tahoma Lodge. We are frequent Tahoe visitors and this was our first time staying in Lake Village. Our family truly enjoyed our stay and we loved the location. Lake Village is a very quiet and peaceful location. Booking the property was very easy and the owner addressed any questions we had promptly. The property was very clean and extremely well maintained. All of the amenities listed were available and served our needs. I would definitely recommend this location. Thank you Nancy...we'll be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
