This Big Island of Hawaii vacation rental is located directly on the ocean front. When you are in the living room you feel like you are on the bow of a big ship (without the seasickness of course). This island vacation rental is 4 stories tall. It comes with an in-home elevator that can take you to each floor, including the big roof deck, in comfort, which makes this island rental wheelchair accessible. The floors are porcelain tile throughout, so they are accessible by young and old alike. The first floor contains the garage, bathroom and entry. The second floor of this rental, has 3 spacious bedrooms, with an oceanfront lanai off the master, 2 baths, and a full laundry room. The 3rd floor has a big, comfortable, open living room, dining room and fully stocked kitchen. This open set-up makes for comfortable island living, and this big room opens onto a covered lanai that is perfect for enjoying the cool island breezes of Hawaii and the beauty of the ocean on the Big Island coast. There is also a half-bath, and an office with high speed internet. The 4th floor has a big roof deck with Brazilian quartzite flooring, and an outdoor shower to cool off with. This deck is perfect for sunbathing under the warm skies of Hawaii, whale watching in season, spotting turtles any day, and enjoying an occasional school of dolphins as they swim by. On a clear day you can also see Mauna Kea and the observatory. At night the stargazing from the roof of this vacation rental is phenomenal. When you are in the living room, master bedroom, or on the lanais and roof deck, you can see the sun and the moon rise directly out of the ocean. Even though the Big Island of Hawaii can be hot and humid, you will always be comfortable and cool in this island home, thanks to the ocean breezes.
There are hot ponds and black sand beaches nearby, and terrific snorkeling only 20 minutes away. Hawaii botanical gardens, astronomy center, waterfalls, swimming, restaurants, you have all this and more within driving distance. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is an unforgettable place to visit and watch the lava flowing from the island volcano. Fishing is available for the sportsman along the Big Island coast. Lots to see and do in the area, and this neighborhood is great for walking or jogging. Farmer's markets are in Hilo two days a week, and you can get lots of island fruits and vegetables at the farmer's market in Pahoa on Sunday. One of the things that sets us apart from other vacation spots in Hawaii, is the lack of crowds and the easy island living. Hi,we are Jeff and Judi and we came to Maui in 1969 and never went back to our home on the mainland. After 35 years on Maui, we decided to explore the Big Island. Of course we fell in love with it, and 5 years ago bought our oceanfront property. Jeff has been a general contractor in the islands for over 35 years, so we designed and built our dream home on the ocean. We love living in it and stay there whenever it isn't rented. This home has the most awesome views we have ever seen in our 40 years in the islands. For anyone who loves the ocean and loves the best of Hawaii, this is the home for you.

The architecture of this house is truly beautiful, with a view from every window. The cupola ceiling is lovely. We loved the sights, sounds, tastes of the island. Some of the things we enjoyed were Kona coffee, fresh fruit and seafood. We even bought a coconut, brought it home and made a fresh coconut pie. We are going back to the mainland relaxed and refreshed. Than you so much for sharing."

The view was stunning everyday, and the location is private yet close to town for dining and some shopping. Your pictures do not do it justice. It is much better in person than you could imagine, and the elevator was great for our 13 bags. We look forward to coming back to the Big Island and hopefully staying again.
