ALSO KNOW AS WHITE SANDS OR DISAPPEARING SANDS BEACH. Some times our sand goes out into the bay. When that happens there is a great swimming beach nearby named Kahaluu.
This is the Kona side of the Big Island! The favorite surfing and boogie boarding beach! Lots of fun! Swim, relax, snorkel, catch a wave!
Gentle rolling waves on the beach below the condo and a great popular sandy beach a few feet away, great oceanfront swimming pool, bbq's and lawn.
Kona Magic Sand has under 37 apartments , never crowded.
There's a lovely park right next door on the other side of the property with lawn and shady trees.Hula demonstrations are see in this great oceanfront park. Farmers market a short distance drive featuring a dazzling array of tropical fruits, flowers and Island produce.
Everything you will need to prepare a gourmet meal or make reservation at one of the many fine eateries near by. There is the Keahou Shopping Center about 3 min drive away and downtown Kona about 10 min drive. There are plenty of places to eat and thing to do!
The is an open air shuttle that runs during the day for $1.00 to take you to and back from down town Kailua Kona or Keauhou Shopping Center. It stops right out in front. So easy!

This is such a romantic and healthy place to be - right on the clean warm ocean in Hawaii. I know that location is key. This location is the best- on the ocean,walk to the beach, next to a park all at a price that is more than fair. What more could you ask for!

All my guests just rave about how they love this beach front studio. First thing in morning the ocean water is so glassy and clean I just love and so will you! It is such a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Everything was perfect. Sooooo clean. All the little things were thought of. Yes, the waves are loud but who cares!!! It's oceanfront. The pool was lovely and clean. Alice was lovely to deal with and I would certainly reccommend anyone to stay here. Friends of ours stayed in another unit on the third floor and we without question had a better unit. The restaurant on the property was being remodelled at the time of our visit. The beach next door is really next door. Perfect. A bit far from town without a car, but there is a shuttle that will take you in to town. Doesn't stop at magic sands after a certain time which can make it hard to get back to after a meal in town. Loved Bubba Gumps, Huggos and Jackie Reys for evening meals. Did the kayak trip out to captain Cook's monument. Easy to do, plenty of kayaks to hire at the beach. Overall, we had a fabulous time in Kailua-Kona.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our second time at "Magic Sands" we are convinced it is the best place to stay in Kona. We will return! The breeze was warm, the ocean colorful and the condo was complete with everything we needed. Thank-you Alice for your courtesy , We hope to return soon.

Descriptions of property, location and furnishing were right on. We had a fabulous time.Very clean and well maintained. We were there for the Ironman, unintentionally, but we enjoyed sitting out on the street and cheering on the runners. the closest food is about 1-11/2 miles away so a rental car is a must. having the beach and the pool right there was great, we enjoyed both.We took a guided boat out to Captain Cook Monument to snorkel and highly recommend it KMS is located between 1 and 2 miles from the craziness of downtown kona. We loved that about it, made it like home away from home. We would definitely stay here again.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, romantic getaway.

I agree with the previous reviews 100%. The photos are accurate representations, even down to the fresh flowers. Owner also supplies good collection of Hawaiian books, a few CD's, and more kitchen amenities than you should reasonably expect. There's a beach park on one side, and a regular park on the other (we saw hula practice there). It was nice and quiet when we were there, and trust me, you are so close to the ocean you will never hear any street noise. We saw the whales, the honu and the dolphins too. Owner supplies binoculars, though you may not need them. And there's an iconic row of palm trees to top it all off. Owner even calls to make sure everything is as it should be and that you are having a good time. Absolutely the best for the price.

Perfect for a couple. After spending a week at Beach Villas, the street noise spoiled everything. So here at KMS the bedroom wall literally opens up to the ocean. What a view! We can sit on the bed or couch, or at the table and watch the waves or the sunset. The smell and sound of the surf lulls you to sleep. It is well equipped, clean, and comfortable and all we have to do is walk out to the beach too boogie board. There is a restaurant on the property too. Thanks so much for such a lovely find!
