  When we want to get away & visit HAWAII we stay at this unit at the Kona Magic Sands! It is our favorite because it is cozy, clean, has an ocean view of the beautiful Kona Coast & all the supplies are provided we need to explore the ocean in front of us. A few steps away is the Kona White Sands Beach where we can snorkel, swim, body surf or just take a relaxing nap on the beach. The view from the unit is award winning for photos of the sunset or he dolphins in the morning. We have many good memories of the romantic gorgeous Kona sunsets in our photo album at home. Some of the art in the unit is from a famous big island artist who is also the owner which makes it personal and full of the Aloha Spirit Hospitality. The best is falling asleep to the soothing sound of the ocean waves and waking up feeling rested and close to the ocean to jump in and wake up! The kitchen is a bonus. There is a common laundry room on property , free assigned parking, and a grassy park just a few steps away. The pool is fun, clean and complete with a BBQ area and outdoor shower. Keauhou shopping center with cultural activities and farmers market is a short drive away and so is Kona town. We usually end up not going too far from the unit and end up chillaxing right on property. Why go anywhere when everything is right in front of you. All we need to do is show up! Can not wait to return to Hawaii Paradise again soon. We absolutely would recommend staying here. Mahalo and Aloha , Ann and Mark Stevens

  The location right next to Magic Sands Beach was awesome. Loved the beach and the excellent snorkeling. The unit is nicely equipped and in good shape. The surf is LOUD. I mean really, REALLY loud. But I had read previous reviews and brought ear plugs. The only issues we had with the unit is that the air conditioner was broken and going on the comments in the review book on the property it apparently had been for quite some time. In December we didn't need it too much, but there were a couple of nights we would have liked to have closed the doors to the sounds and just had some air con. Also, there are small ants in the unit. The instructions on the fridge say not to leave food out and we were VERY careful but there were ants anyway in the bathroom and the living area. Not enough to freak out about, but it does need to be sprayed. All in all it was a great trip and we would rent again. The price was right and the location excellent.

  Owner response: I appreciate it when guest leave comments. I live on the island and am always available by phone. If a guest calls I am there to take care of what ever the problem is. For future guests ,please call me, even if the problem is small. I have items within the condo to solve most issues and if not I will be there myself or with a repair person to take care of it. My goal is to give my guests the most enjoyable vacation experience

  Everything was perfect. Sooooo clean. All the little things were thought of. Yes, the waves are loud but who cares!!! It's oceanfront. The pool was lovely and clean. Alice was lovely to deal with and I would certainly reccommend anyone to stay here. Friends of ours stayed in another unit on the third floor and we without question had a better unit. The restaurant on the property was being remodelled at the time of our visit. The beach next door is really next door. Perfect. A bit far from town without a car, but there is a shuttle that will take you in to town. Doesn't stop at magic sands after a certain time which can make it hard to get back to after a meal in town. Loved Bubba Gumps, Huggos and Jackie Reys for evening meals. Did the kayak trip out to captain Cook's monument. Easy to do, plenty of kayaks to hire at the beach. Overall, we had a fabulous time in Kailua-Kona.

  Our second time at "Magic Sands" we are convinced it is the best place to stay in Kona. We will return! The breeze was warm, the ocean colorful and the condo was complete with everything we needed. Thank-you Alice for your courtesy , We hope to return soon.

  Descriptions of property, location and furnishing were right on. We had a fabulous time.Very clean and well maintained. We were there for the Ironman, unintentionally, but we enjoyed sitting out on the street and cheering on the runners. the closest food is about 1-11/2 miles away so a rental car is a must. having the beach and the pool right there was great, we enjoyed both.We took a guided boat out to Captain Cook Monument to snorkel and highly recommend it KMS is located between 1 and 2 miles from the craziness of downtown kona. We loved that about it, made it like home away from home. We would definitely stay here again.

  I agree with the previous reviews 100%. The photos are accurate representations, even down to the fresh flowers. Owner also supplies good collection of Hawaiian books, a few CD's, and more kitchen amenities than you should reasonably expect. There's a beach park on one side, and a regular park on the other (we saw hula practice there). It was nice and quiet when we were there, and trust me, you are so close to the ocean you will never hear any street noise. We saw the whales, the honu and the dolphins too. Owner supplies binoculars, though you may not need them. And there's an iconic row of palm trees to top it all off. Owner even calls to make sure everything is as it should be and that you are having a good time. Absolutely the best for the price.

  Perfect for a couple. After spending a week at Beach Villas, the street noise spoiled everything. So here at KMS the bedroom wall literally opens up to the ocean. What a view! We can sit on the bed or couch, or at the table and watch the waves or the sunset. The smell and sound of the surf lulls you to sleep. It is well equipped, clean, and comfortable and all we have to do is walk out to the beach too boogie board. There is a restaurant on the property too. Thanks so much for such a lovely find!
