Uniquely situated on 400 feet of no-bank sandy beach along Saratoga Passage on the southwest end of Camano Island, our home offers expansive views of both Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountains. Our historic home was built in 1957 on 3.5 mostly natural acres right on the sandy beach. Quiet and privacy is ensured by wetlands filled with driftwood on one side, and a picturesque cove community on the other side, about 3000 feet down the beach.
Pacific Northwest nature is at its best here with eagles, herons, seals, sea otters, foxes, deer and all the small forest creatures. Both Orcas and Gray whales feed on plankton and pass as close as a tweny feet from our bulk-head between March and June (peak viewing is April/May). Enjoy the views from our covered patio with fireplace -- sparkling water during the day, spectacular island sunsets, and starry nights. Outdoor activities include: hiking, bicycling, fishing, clamming, crabbing, beach-walking, kayaking, whale-watching and boating.
Our guests enjoy water views from ALL rooms since the home is built on a point and with unusual angles. The living room has a wood stove (wood provided) for cozy relaxation, and flat screen TV (good reception for 18 channels) with DVD. There is also a stereo system with many FM channels and tape deck. The dining room looks west towards Whidbey Island and sunsets. Our country kitchen is fully equipped (all dishes, utensils, pots and pans, baking dishes, etc.). Both bedrooms have water views and ample closet space. The master has a small bath with shower (queen bed). The second bedroom has a King and double bunk bed (suitable for kids, bring sleeping bags). The hall bath has a tub. Our flat-roofed, pumice brick home was designed and built with 1950's era charm -- warm wood paneling inside, built in cabinets and dining room buffet, and red brick fireplaces. There is a full laundry room with washer/dryer.
Our home is especially enjoyable to those who love nature. The previous owners enjoyed it for 70 years, after buying the land from a small logging operation in 1929. Prior to that, the area was homesteaded in the late 19th century and probably was used occasionally as a Native American summer camp. We are now opening our home of 8 years to share with like-minded nature-lovers.
Camano Island is easily reached by driving over a bridge which means no ferry lines! Our home is reached in about 30 minutes from the I-5 Stanwood exit.

We had a wonderful time there, couldn't ask for a better location surrounded by beach. Our kids had a blast building forts with all the driftwood and playing on the big grass lawn. Evenings on the patio with the big brick fireplace were enjoyable and the house was stocked with everything we needed. We saw lots of birds, seals/otters and even crabs...if you've got kids they will have a great time!

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this property! The location is directly on the beach and there is endless sea life for everyone to enjoy. The property is also very private and the yard is quite spacious for children to run around. One of our favorite things to do was sit outside on the patio by the outdoor fireplace and roast marshmallows at night - such a treat!

We had a wonderful weekend at this beachfront home. The house was much bigger than we expected and it fit the 6 of us easily. The one room had a king size bed and two bunks, which we perfectly comfortable, even for adults. The owners had provided us with water, but also suggested bringing some water bottles, which was a helpful suggestion. We walked along the beach during the day and made a fire outside which was so calming. The kitchen was big enough for us to all be in there working around each other and overall everything was clean so we really felt comfortable relaxing in the house. We did have to drive about 15-20 minutes into Stanwood for dinner, but as long as you come prepared with all of your groceries, etc. you don't need to leave. Keep in mind you do have to get rid of your own garbage at the end of your stay. Just something to think about when you are packing things up at the end!

This is a little slice of heaven not too far from home. Comfortable place, the outdoor fireplace on the patio was the centerpiece for all of our evenings. The views are amazing! Looking forward to staying again.

After staying at this little piece of heaven, we would highly recommend for 2 couples or a family. A pleasant experience waking from a king sized bed, watching gulls, passing boats & Olympics. Well appointed kitchen & sunny outdoor patio for meals. A special place indeed!
