One of the most recognized properties on the Sonoma Coast, this home was built 1868 by Hugh Marshall and was used as the "coastal station" stop on the original stage coach road. The Marshall House has been carefully renovated. The home is on a .82+ acre lot with stone walls and paths, 100 year old Cypress trees, and a detached 2 car garage with work shop. Directly off the kitchen is an unique atrium with views of Salmon Creek, a walk away for canoeing or kayaking, and the Pacific Ocean. The atrium is ideal for a group dinner, dancing, or relaxation with views with family and friends. The kitchen, fully renovated, is equipped with a gourmet propane stove and oven and a Bosch dishwasher and stainless refrigerator. The dining table seats 6. There is a large living room, library, kitchen/dining area, the atrium, 1.5 bathrooms (large tile shower) on the first floor. On the 2nd floor is a full bathroom with a claw foot tub and 3 bedrooms. Walk out the door to the Pacific Ocean, where you will find one of the best surf spots in California. There is mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, kayaking and more right out the door.

  • This is a wonderful and beautiful home in a peaceful and quiet setting on the hills above Salmon Creek and Salmon Creek Beach. Our family fell into a great rhythm of beach visits, home- cooked meals and family time in the atrium and by the living room fireplace. It's very thoughtfully outfitted and extremely comfortable. The views are amazing and the atrium with its tropical flowers and fountain is a real treat. Highly recommended.

  • Beautiful location, amazing view of the ocean and an incredible home in a true historic setting. We had our wedding at the Marshall house, and recommend this location to anyone looking for an intimate, special wedding with those closest to you. The atrium is perfect for receptions and dinners, and there are several spots on the grounds perfect for the ceremony. Thank you Marshall House for a memorable wedding and weekend.   • Incredible home. Hanging out in the magical luxury of the Atrium...playing cards, eating fresh french, savoring the beach view. 2-3 visits to the beach a day. The early morning saw a baby harbour seal watching its mother in the water, pelicans diving, and sea lions playing in the waves while shorebirds greeted us as we walked. And our 14 year old read War of the Worlds and Dr. Jekell and ... from your library! Thank you. Vicki and Joseph Cochrane

  • In a rainy cool Xmas week the house was warm,"cozy" (although it is wonderfully sprawling, with a huge kitchen from which there is a fine view of the ocean. Perfect for kids & dogs & the owners were gracious & accommodating. A wonderful place!!
