My family and I had a relaxing time at this beautiful home. Everyone was well accommodated and extra comfortable. The atrium really provided a great mix in regards to differing environments, and we especially liked the symbolism in its old tiles and stained glass. Everything was sound as far as logistics goes. The beach is also a close walk. And I often wondered if our meals were a tad bit better than usual as a result of the great views for the kitchen lovers. There are many gems in this well crafted, well preserved piece of California History.

Our extended family spent a few days over New Year's and the weather was rainy, chilly and unpredictable but we didn't even notice as we played games in the warm, cozy kitchen and watched the huge swells on the water, listening to the sound of rain falling on the roof and smelling the fresh sea air. A very private getaway with the beautiful atrium, perfect for letting little children play when the weather is not so great.

We have a cabin in Salmon Creek and over the years have admired the Marshall House. When we planned a family reunion we decided to rent the Marshall House. It exceeded my expectations. The open kitchen and living room are wonderful gathering places. Our family could all be together; cooking, eating and talking. I love historic buildings and was very impressed with the redwood floors, windows, and rooms upstairs. I felt like I was in a colonial in New England. The views to Salmon Creek Beach from the kitchen and living room are wonderful. The property is very well kept, I noticed all of the antique mirrors throughout the rooms. We were there right after Christmas so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the large yard and atrium. I would highly recommend this house for families or a group of friends. It has loads of character. It was very convenient to have a bedroom on the first floor for those that find a staircase a challenge. Kurt was very easy to work with and helpful.

This very clean and comfortable home has a beautiful ocean view from the atrium and kitchen and is a short hike through the dunes to the beach and creek. The beds are comfortable and bedding is wonderful - down comfortors and quilts. The large kitchen and atrium were great gathering places for our group of six. Kurt was especially helpful and e-mailed information about his favorite wineries, tips for grocery shopping, and area activities, as well as cell and home numbers in case we had any problems (we didn't). Bodega Bay is lovely and we saw whales from bodega head; also visited some excellent winereis along the Russian River. We would stay here again and recommend highly to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Our deposit was returned promptly and the owners are very nice and helpful.

I rented the Marshall House for a group of 8 women. We are avid crafters and scrapbookers and found the house clean and very well appointed. The kitchen and living room areas were perfect for us to spread out with tables and our projects. We would definitely consider coming back in the summer months to enjoy the Atrium more. Well worth the time and money to stay here.

We filled all the beds with our extended family and it was wonderful, such a short walk to Salmon Creek Beach. The atrium was incredible, and I found it hard to leave this property at all! It felt like being back in the 19th century. The hot tub under the stars was magical. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful and beautiful home in a peaceful and quiet setting on the hills above Salmon Creek and Salmon Creek Beach. Our family fell into a great rhythm of beach visits, home- cooked meals and family time in the atrium and by the living room fireplace. It's very thoughtfully outfitted and extremely comfortable. The views are amazing and the atrium with its tropical flowers and fountain is a real treat. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location, amazing view of the ocean and an incredible home in a true historic setting. We had our wedding at the Marshall house, and recommend this location to anyone looking for an intimate, special wedding with those closest to you. The atrium is perfect for receptions and dinners, and there are several spots on the grounds perfect for the ceremony. Thank you Marshall House for a memorable wedding and weekend. We look forward to having many wonderful anniversaries at one of the best spots to be in the world. Thank you!

Incredible home. Hanging out in the magical luxury of the Atrium...playing cards, eating fresh french, savoring the beach view. 2-3 visits to the beach a day. The early morning saw a baby harbour seal watching its mother in the water, pelicans diving, and sea lions playing in the waves while shorebirds greeted us as we walked. And our 14 year old read War of the Worlds and Dr. Jekell and ... from your library! Thank you. Vicki and Joseph Cochrane

In a rainy cool Xmas week the house was warm,"cozy" (although it is wonderfully sprawling, with a huge kitchen from which there is a fine view of the ocean. Perfect for kids & dogs & the owners were gracious & accommodating. A wonderful place!!
