The cove is a perfect place for a picnic, walk, or bonfire. Pretty Marsh which is only a few miles away has a beautiful public beach, complete with kayak rentals.
A short drive through the park will take you to the picture perfect town of Southwest Harbor, with shops and restaurants galore.
If you feel like staying closer to home, the working harbor of Seal Cove offers striking sunsets, beautiful views of Blue Hill Bay and a chance to see wildlife such as seals, sea otters and porpoises. Right in your back yard, you may view deers, bobcats, porcupines, raccoons, minks and many other species of Maine wildlife.
Tranquility Farmhouse is newly renovated, tastefully decorated, spectacularly clean and offers 3 bedrooms (2 with queens and 1 with bunk beds). The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, microwave, full size refrigerator and of course all the necessities for Lobster at home.
The living room is a wonderful place for the family to gather. You can watch cable or DVDs on the flat screen TV or enjoy a family game night. The deck has a large picnic table if you prefer to dine under the stars.
Thurston's Lobster Pound (featured in Coastal Living) is located a few minutes from your door along with several other wonderful places to dine New England Style. Your tranquil home away from home is located within close proximity to all of Mount Desert Island. Bernard is a mere 5 minutes, Southwest Harbor 10 minutes, Bar Harbor 20 minutes, and Somesville 10 minutes by car.
