Sitting as the Crown Jewel in the heart of downtown Missoula, the Historic Wilma Building will provide a unique and luxurious lodging experience for you. This 6th floor, North-West, corner loft was dramatically transformed in 2008. In keeping with the effort to restore and enliven this 1921 building, the loft has been decorated and furnished to pay tribute to Edna Wilma, the buildings namesake.

From the ceiling hangs an over sized crystal chandelier, recovered from the renovation efforts. Deep, red, theatre velvet adorns the windows. On the walls hang photos of Hollywood stars and a full length portrait of Edna Wilma herself, also original to the building.

The fully renovated loft features beautiful built-ins, reminiscent of great city living; a place for everything, everything in it’s place. The foot board of the platform queen size bed, doubles as a drop-down desk complete with outlets and Wi-Fi for your lap-top. Under the bed is hidden storage space, ideal for long-term visitors who want to unpack and stay awhile. The five foot window seat provides additional storage as well as the best people-watching-perch in Missoula, gazing straight up Missoula’s bustling Higgins Ave.

The flat-screen TV, Italian marble surround in the bathtub, black granite counter tops and freshly fluffed down comforter will make you feel like you are in the lap of luxury. We will provide all fresh linens and towels at the beginning of your stay. For our extended stay guests, a weekly linen change and room cleaning are provided. There are laundry facilities located in the building. You will also find the convenience, and added savings, of having a fully furnished kitchen at your disposal. However, if you want to pass on kitchen duty, there is a gourmet restaurant in the building as well as many other unique cuisine choices within walking distance.

And best of all...Location! Location! Location! Within easy walking distance you will find access to festivals, Caras Park, the Clark Fork River trail system, downtown boutique shopping, Missoula's finest restaurants, the Carousel, Farmer’s Market, Missoula Art Museum, Library, Children’s Museum, as well as the University of Montana Campus – you just can’t beat this ‘central-to-everything’ location. We will even provide a mountain bike so you can get around in true Missoula style.

We can provide personal shopping services if you would like your kitchen stocked when you arrive or wish to have a gift basket waiting. Your 6th floor view of the Rattlesnake Wilderness Area, Clark Fork River and Missoula’s vibrant downtown will keep you coming back for more.

Downtown Missoula - 6th Floor Studio - One of a Kind Design

Year Purchased: 2007

Why the Owner Chose Missoula

I am a Missoula native who grew up performing on the stage of the Historic Wilma Theatre, as did my four siblings. I can't imaging the number of evenings my parents spent in this building watching ballet recitals, music concerts and plays. Our family has a deep love and long relationship with this building. When the building was bought in 2007 and the condo conversion took place, my family collectively bought four units. What a thrill for us - to own a piece of the Wilma. The building is iconic in this community and full of charm. The payback of a long, expensive and arduous renovation process comes each time I open the door for a new guest. People are always delightfully surprised and overwhelmed by the beauty, inside and out. I can't blame them, the Wilma is simply the best in town for location, amenities and luxury. You would be a fool to go to a hotel.

The Unique Benefits at this Condominium

My husband and I live exactly seven minutes from the Wilma Building, and yes we do vacation here. I don't always want to leave Missoula when vacationing, I love Missoula. I just want to leave my laundry and my children and my piles and...you get the idea.
We feel like we are a million miles away when we hide out at the Wilma Building. Because of the 6th floor view our perspective changes. I love the use of marble throughout the space, matched with fluffy pillows, a down comforter and high thread count sheets - yum. The antique art work, chandelier and red velvet makes me feel oh so glamorous. The simplicity of the space calms me and the vibrancy of downtown ignites me. I can have it all when I am at the Wilma.

Owner's Map of Missoula

This is Patrick and Sophia - they are not exactly the owner's, but they might as well be. We stepped into the Vacation Rental Business as a way to start planning for their future. We refer to the them as the President and Vice President of all our operations. Let's face it, kids are small, but mighty when it comes to life force. My name is Karen and I claim these rascals as my own and their daddy is Michael. Together we all bask in the high life of Missoula. I am a professional speaker and business consultant. My husband is the Program Director for Montana Public Radio. We think of the Wilma properties as our 'hobby business'.
This is my shameless plea to you: please do us a favor and help out Patrick and Sophia's college fund by renting from us. You have to sleep with someone, you might as well sleep with us - so to speak.

    • My husband and I traveled 1700 miles for UM's Parents Weekend and wanted a place to spend time with our Freshman daughter. We wanted an alternative to a hotel room, something that gave her a little feel of home and boy did we find it! The Edna Loft was truly our home away from home. I was able to do her laundry for her downstairs and make her favorite meal in the kitchen and we enjoyed the comfy living room with her. Karen met us on the day of arrival and made us feel like we were staying in her own home, as her special guests. This is such a great alternative to hotels! We walked to campus for the Grizzly game and loved walking Higgins, Front & Main for eating and shopping. We will be back! Thanks Karen for everything.

    • My wife and I stayed in this beautiful room on a long weekend trip to Missoula. Well equipped for the traveler, with a kitchenette, Wi-Fi, a TV on a swivel arm, and a very comfortable bed. Karen is also the consummate host, providing us with lots of tips about things to do and places to eat nearby.
