Great stay! It was nice to have the extras; beach mats, chairs, snorkel equip, beach towels, and a convenient cart to haul it all to the beach that was such a short walk away. The condo had laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, sugar, seasonings, oil, coffee, tea, and even wines....thanks to the previous guest who left these behind. The kitchen had everything you needed to have a few home cooked meals. The diamond head view through the picture window from the bed was a marvelous way to wake up! The absolute best luau was at Paradise Cove, lots of cultural activities to do and wonderful show. Parasailing is a must, the bluest waters and best view of the island. Renting a car isn't really necessary if ur staying local....so many things within walking distance and most tours u schedule provide transportation, but if u do want to rent a car, make sure to reserve your rental car online before u arrive, the rates are significantly better. Most of all have a blast!

We needed a place close to the Marriott Beach Hotel and Hilton due to a conference my husband attended and we wanted a place more roomy and more affordable than the conference hotels and this condo complex was great for our needs. This was our second trip to Waikiki and we prefer this end, which seems quieter but still within walking distance to everything. The Aloha Hideaway is partially renovated (bathroom and tile floor in living area) and we were told other upgrades are coming. When the carpet, curtains and kitchen are updated it will be very nice. Our adult son used the sofa bed and it was not very comfortable, but he added a foam pad provided in the unit and it was o.k. Two adults sleeping on the sofa bed may have been uncomfortable, but may be o.k. for children. There is a full kitchen (but no dishwasher) but we were gone almost all day everyday and didn't need use of the kitchen much. It was nice to have a place for coffee, breakfast, and snacks. We arrived late and tired our first night and went to the snack bar by the pool and that was o.k. There is a small cafe in the lobby area and the server there was very nice and they had some breakfast, snack and lunch options. From this unit, there is a nice view of Diamond Head between some other buildings....and you can see the water from the unit. A walk one block away leads to the beach and a good view of the sunset. Mike was easy to work with and I understand he has other units available. A unit with a mountain/golf course/canal view would have been nice too from this location. We had a rental car and the free parking was nice. If you have to stay in Waikiki....be sure to get out of town and see the rest of the island, especially the east and north shores. And avoid driving on a weekday between 4-6 p.m in Honolulu/Wakikiki.....traffic is slow! I was glad to see a some guide books left in the room for us to use. "Ohau Revealed" was my pick and very helpful! Free internet access was also a big help.

Stayed here for two weeks with a family of 5 over the Christmas holidays. Dealing with Mike the owner was VERY easy and everything went 100% smoothly - not one hassle! The location of the Banyan and condo was perfect - Waikiki beach was a very short walk as are a good number of restaurants and grocery stores. BBQs located on the 6th floor were great too provided a comfortable way to meet people from around the world while preparing a bit of food in the evening. Was great having the free parking as well which we took advantage of for a few days. All in all, it was a nice, quiet Aloha hide-away!

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying in Mike's condo. It was exactly as described, exactly what we wanted. The location is perfect, close to everything even within a short walk. The parking availability was much appreciated, too. We absolutely loved waking up to the sight of Diamond Head. Although the condo is in a large building with hundreds of other guests, it felt very private and quiet. The only time we saw or heard any other people was in the elevator. Getting settled into the condo was easy as can be and just so much better than staying in a hotel room. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I had been to Honolulu in 2009 for our honeymoon. We stayed on the North Shore and did not get a chance to see much of the island as we had not rented a car and it was hard to get around the island. We decided in 2009 that we would be back. This time we traveled with my parents and our 8 month old son. The condo was excellent, prime location and allowed us to visit a lot of places in Honolulu. Mike and Nikki met us the first night and suggested a few places to visit (including diamond head, pali lookout and the valley of the temples) which were all great sites that we may not have gone to and are very glad we did. The weather was not the greatest which made us even happier we had the condo as we stayed in to eat more than we expected. The pool and hot tubs were nice and not as busy as I thought they might be. Overall great trip and will definitely recommend to others!
Owner response:It was nice meeting your entire family. Thanks so much for staying with us. Also gllad you could visit the places that I recommened. Hope to have you back. Aloha -Mike

Hi Mike, Thanks so much for renting us your condo at the Waikiki Banyan. Leslie, Avery, and I had a wonderful stay and a great holiday. Too bad we had to come home to 7 feet of snow on the lawn! We found the accommodation to be exceptionally clean, well furnished, and well taken care of. The fact that it is only 1.5 blocks from Waikiki beach make this the ideal home away from home for a holiday on Oahu. The parking pass - allowing us to park in the covered, secure parkade - was an added bonus. The location was ideal for our family. Because we were travelling with our 2.5 year old, we needed to be located close to the beach and attractions. With the zoo, aquarium, Waikiki beach, and shopping mere blocks away, your condo was ideally located for our family vacation (not to mention the view of Diamond Head and sunrise was fantastic!). We were able to use many of the amenities the condo/building had on offer: free telephone, secure parking, spacious balcony, pool, steam room, playground, bar-b-que, and tennis court. If you are looking for a low hassle, centrally located rental property in Waikiki, I would suggest getting in touch with Mike for this property. Mike was prompt and courteous when replying to questions and made the whole rental process easy and worry free. We are planning another trip to Oahu next year and hope your condo is available. Owner response:So glad you had a good time. I'm always glad to offer a great unit, competitive prices, and great service. Please do come again and share the spirit of the islands. Aloha -Mike

Our stay at the Waikiki Banyan Condo was wonderful. The views from each room were incredible. There was so much to see within walking distance from the condo. Every morning you can take a walk along the beach or around the zoo. The condo has convenient parking and is rather quiet even though it is a block from all the action of Waikiki beach. It is very clean and has items to use at the beach. Although you can do many things without a car, you should rent a car for a few days and go to Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, Waimea and Kailua Beaches, and take a trip around the entire island. We visited three islands on this trip and because of the variety of things to do, we all (including two teenagers) liked Oahu the best. Make sure you spend enough time on this island and at this condo.

We stayed in Mikes condo for 3 weeks and enjoyed every bit of our time there, view fantastic and the suite was fully loaded with everything you could ask for in your own kitchen. We will pass the word on to our friends and would love to stay there next year for March and April 2011. Mike will do anything to make you happy
Owner response:Just wanted to say thanks for adding the Clock to the Unit. When you come back next year, you can admire it. And just wanted you to know, that I did find a new chair for the unit. ;)

I just returned home after a week in this great condo. The palce was exactly as the description and pictures on the webpage. Everything was spotlessly clean and in full working order. The condo enjoys morning sun and the view from the balcony towards Diamond Head and the ocean is great Although the condo is located in the center of busy Waikiki the unit is very quiet and peaceful. No noise from either the neighbors of from the streets below. That is very unusual for Waikiki !! Mike was available at any time to help with advice etc. I would be happy to recommend this unit to anyone and would definitely stay here again on any future trips.

We are just finishing a delightful 3 week stay in Waikiki at the 'Aloha Hideaway' condominium apartment. It has been a joy staying here. The accommodation is clean, bright, secure, and exceptionally well located in close proximity to the beach, restaurants, shopping and all that Waikiki has to offer. We recommend it highly. Thank you, Mike, for a great vacation home!

My husband and I stayed in this condo for three days in late July. The condo is in a wonderful, upscale high-rise with an amazing pool along with pool-side cafe. This was different as well as very neat and I've never seen it before. There were a lot of lounge chairs by the pool as well. Additionally, the pool is not located on the ground floor as is usual but located several floors up so you still maintain a view, even pool-side. The condo was very nice and met all of our needs. The view from the balcony was very good as well. I thought it very considerate that the owner Mike, had supplied boogie boards for our use too. There is a very short, shop and restaurant filled, walk to the beach and more restaurants and shops within a very short walking distance, than you can possible be at in the time that we were there. Every activity that we wanted to attend,ie; swimming with dolphins, dinner cruises, etc., all offered to pick us up at the condo or right around the corner at a hotel. We found Mike, the owner to be extremely accomadating as well as attentive to our needs and our deposit was returned in a reasonable time period. I would most definitely stay at this condo again.
