Eleuthera is the place to be! Our Eleuthera rental is called the Key Lime Cottage, newly built in 2008. This is a fully-furnished two bedroom, two bath cottage with all the amenities needed for your comfort, including central air and satellite TV. The occupancy limit of this cottage is four guests, and this is a non-smoking home. Key Lime Cottage is colorfully painted a green key lime, appropriately named after our favorite Key Lime Pie which can be found at many local restaurants around the Eleuthera island.
Key Lime Cottage is located directly across popular Rainbow Beach in Eleuthera which is on the Caribbean side. This beach has beautiful turquoise waters and is excellent for swimming and snorkeling. The Key Lime Cottage has a wonderful view of the ocean from the balcony. This cottage has a prime location as only a few homes are located this close to the desirable Rainbow Bay Beach which is the favored one in the community.
Eleuthera is a laid-back island for those who want to escape the city, and is a great place to just relax and soak up the sun, or to just dine at one of the local restaurants. You may also take a day trip to the north to Spanish Wells or Harbour Island and tour the day in a rented golf cart, or just explore the island wonders such as Glass Window Bridge. Eleuthera is a very non-commercialized island. No chain stores here and no crowds--only local flavor! Beach-hopping is fun, as there are miles of unspoiled beaches up and down the long island of Eleuthera on both the Atlantic and Caribbean sides. In the evening, enjoy the spectacular sunset. You will find ultimate hospitality from the people of Eleuthera--very friendly! Come stay at the Key Lime Cottage for a memorable Eleuthera vacation.

Year Purchased: 2008
My husband and I fell in love with the Bahamas when on our honeymoon in Nassau in 1989 and always dreamed of owning an island vacation home. However, we wanted a place a little less crowded. We were fortunate to find Eleuthera while surfing the net. We bought our first home there ten years later in 1999 (ironically during Hurricane Floyd), but thankfully it all worked out. We later sold this home and missed all of the fond memories we had with our family. Therefore, we began our building in Eleuthera, and we are very happy with the end result, the Key Lime Cottage. This is truly paradise.
Why the Owner Chose Rainbow Bay
We decided to build a rental in Rainbow Bay as we had owned a home there previously and really enjoyed the area, particularly in the Rainbow Bay Community Association. Therefore, we felt lucky when we bought the lot just right across the street from Rainbow Bay Beach, which we felt was an ideal location to enjoy paradise with our family and guests who rent from us. The people in Rainbow Bay are very friendly.
The Unique Benefits of this Vacation House
You will enjoy a fabulous turquoise beach across the street--exellent for snorkeling. This is great for families or couples. We always want our guests to feel welcome, and arrive to a clean, inviting home. We have a wonderful local Caretaker Couple to assist you with any needs, and their son rents out vehicles too. He can have a vehicle waiting at Governor's Harbour Airport upon your arrival (we highly recommend a vehicle to get around the island of Eleuthera).
Our home is fully furnished with all of the amenities to make you feel comfortable: satellite tv, central a/c; washer/dryer; land-line telephone; and outdoor shower. We have an ideal location in Eleuthera, and we are within driving distance to many other local beaches on both the Caribbean and Atlantic sides, and you can also explore the island to the north (a day trip to Spanish Wells or Harbour Island), or travel to the south. Enjoy the local restaurants and hospitality of the Eleuthera people.
