Ditch the hotel chains and highways! Live in the most serene setting imaginable intermingled with Amish and non-Amish neighbors. The location was perfect! Easy to access, 15-20 minute drive to all locations in and around Lancaster (take backroads to really glimpse the culture!). We took easy day trips to Hershey and Gettysburg and then relaxed on the porch and waded in the river on our return. The owners were very laid-back and friendly. We highly recommend this rustic and relaxing experience.

The previous reviews helped us decide to take a chance and we're very glad we did! The location is amazing for a Lancaster vacation. We were able to access Intercourse, Lancaster, etc. within 20 minutes via back-roads or highway (take the back-roads to really glimpse Amish intermingled with non-Amish farms and homes). Day-trips to Hershey and Gettysburg were easy and we returned to the tranquility of cows, the river and the covered bridge. If you're looking to live the country/Amish experience, get away from hotel chains on the highways!

My friend and I took our daughters here for a "Girls Getaway" . We were so impressed. The cottage is so charming and quaint. It was far better than we expected so much so we decided to stay an extra night. The owners are a delight and happy to answer questions, give directions and offer great suggestions of what to do and see. We can't wait to go back. The inside of the house is beautiful and clean and a beautiful red covered bridge is at the end of the driveway .It's picturesque. Our 11 year old daughters didn't want to leave. We were right next to an Amish farm and enjoyed them and the cows! You will NOT regret choosing this for your vacation.

The cottage had a great feel to it - old farm house style with two big porches -one screened-in and the other open to look over the creek below. Outside is a fire pit in the back yard with tree trunk stools to sit around the fire and toast marshmellows. The front yard is large and faces the covered bridge and next to that - a large cow pasture - peaceful views on all sides of the cottage. The owners made us feel so welcome to make sure all of our needs were met with working kitchen, large TV. It's such a quiet place to get away and so near to all that we wanted to see in Amish Country. It was a great choice to make instead of a hotel to have a house and property to ourselves to enjoy. We fit perfectly - myself, my son and daughter-in-law and the 3 small ones. Lot's of relaxed fun!

the best place to stay in lancaster! great location! to our delight, the inside of the cottage was beautifully furnished and decorated. we researched many places before choosing this one and this was by far the best place to experience amish country. this private cottage was situated beside a beautiful, peaceful creek, with cows grazing in the field next to it, literally an arms reach away at times; the cottage was gorgeous and the wood covered bridge created the perfect package. the owners were very welcoming and warmhearted with helpful printouts and directions to where we were interested in going! we would stay at this home-away-from-home again and do consider it our go-to place when in lancaster. amazing and beautiful! thank you so much. a superb experience!

Great cottage - we canoed and fished (and caught a few redbreasted sunfish) right from the cottage yard. You can probably cover 3 miles of stream from the cottage with a flat-bottom canoe. We also loved the shady yard for wiffle-ball games with the kids, and the covered porch was great. We 4 adults and 2 kids with no problems. I wish the cottage was mine....
Owner response:thanks Dave we're glad you enjoyed your stay. If you come back don't forget to ask for you 10% return visit discount.
