Treat yourself to the experience of true “Old Homosassa”. Enjoy your days on the river or in one of the many nearby parks, and relax for the evening on the cozy, screened porch at the back of the house, or stretch out under the huge grandfather oak out front. The fenced back yard is perfect for your WELL BEHAVED pets and children. Several grocery stores are conveniently located close by (within 5 minutes) on US 19, so you can stock up on supplies. Don’t feel like cooking? There are several eateries within walking (and boating) distance where you can sample some great seafood and specialty dishes or relax with a cocktail as you watch the Homosassa River gently float by. Bring your bicycle for a relaxing ride on quiet roads.
There is plenty of parking in the driveway area, so be sure to bring your boat on a trailer – we’re less than ½ a mile from the public boat ramp, and the Nature Coast boasts some of the best fishing anywhere in the world, not to mention the scalloping season from July to September. Don’t have a boat? There are numerous places close by where you can rent one, or you can hire one of the many experienced fishing guides in the area to show you the ropes. Kayakers and canoeists will enjoy the Citrus County Canoe and Kayak Trail which extends eleven miles from the Crystal River to the Chassahowitzka River. The trail is clearly marked and conveys you through some of the county's most picturesque areas.
Nearby attractions include the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park, Swim with the Manatee Tours, Helicopter Rides, Buccaneer Bay Water Park, Deep Sea Fishing, Howard’s Flea Market, Hunter Springs Park, Yulee Sugar Mill Ruins Historic State Park, Crystal River State Archaeological State Park, Rainbow Springs State Park, and the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Refuge, just to a mention a few.
We love our home in this “Old Florida” hideaway, and we’re sure you will too!

we are very happy when we entered our home away from home vacation. new floors and remodel. very clean. we loved the bedroom tucked behind the kitchen (very private and cozy). the fenced in yard was great for our little dog. so close to the local boat dock and watering hole. just hopped on the bikes and took off. what a great month. thanks.

My Family and I had a fantastic time at the Manatee house over the 4th of July holiday. Location of this property is key if you have a boat. Plenty of parking on the property and the public ramp right down the street. House was tastefully decorated and loaded with everything we needed for the week. There was even a pizza cooker. We loved having free internet access which allowed us to stay connected. A majority of our time was spent on the screen patio and in the backyard which was fenced and dog friendly. Compared to other properties in the area, I’m glad we decided to stay at the Manatee House for our yearly scalloping trip. I look forward to next year!
