The rich, unique architecture, is one of the most prominent examples of the Italianate style in the state. Noted architectural features include gothic arched windows, an ocular window, and intricate brick details throughout the exterior.
Fairview is a classic, country home offering 5 guest rooms, 4 private baths with luxury linens and furnishings. The interior is quite elegant and filled with European antiques, yet still maintains a comfortable atmosphere for guests to enjoy. The broad veranda in the back of the house faces a bold Blue Ridge mountain range, and is a favorite relaxing venue for guests.
Located in Piney River, VA, a small rural town in Amherst County, Virginia, Fairview was built shortly after the Civil War in 1867 by a wealthy doctor who valued the area for its breathtaking mountain views.
Guests may enjoy feeding and interacting with the white Arabian horses, and a one-of-a-kind outdoor aviary featuring an array of colorful peacocks.
A recently fully furnished Guest Cottage is also available with wonderful pastoral and bold mountain views. The Guest Cottage is available to larger parties, in conjunction with a Main House reservation.
