The cabin was beautiful, clean and so peaceful. A perfect place to enjoy the night sky - so many stars could be seen from the deck! An unexpected bonus was the amazingly abundant mountain laurel in full bloom! I enjoyed my morning coffee on the deck listening to the birds! We had dinner several times at Larkin's on the Lake of "Dirty Dancing" fame. Such a relaxing weekend. Thank you so much!

The cabin was beautiful, well-furnished, roomy and extremely comfortable! I have visited this particular cabin twice, and both times have been extremely pleased with my stay! The satellite and wireless internet work wonderfully, the jet tub is a major plus, and while enjoying our stay, we even had the pleasure of seeing some snow falling outside. The landscape is picturesque and just what one would hope to find while enjoying a stay in the mountains! I would definitely rate my stay as being an excellent and unforgettable experience and would recommend this cabin to everyone looking for a relaxing weekend! The owners are friendly and very accomodating!

Our weekend getaway was every bit of the experience I had hoped it would be. We stayed here one other time last year as well and both times...definitely pleased. The cabin was beautiful and the neighbors were very friendly. Everything is so quiet and peaceful and the trails throughout Riverbend were great. The last time we stayed we went fishing at the lake which had an area for our children to play as well as grill setups and good fishing all in the same area which was convenient. It was too cold this time but nothing beats a cabin in the mountains in the cold!!! (we actually timed it just right to see some blowing snow and being from SC we dont see much of..this was cool) The satellite and wireless internet both worked great and the tv's in all the rooms were a crowd pleaser. Extremely satisfied and will definitely be staying again!!!! 6 out of 5 stars
Owner response:We appreciate your comments and , certainly , welcome you back anytime that we have an opening..

We stayed here over the New Year's weekend. This house is advertised as having 3 Queen beds, and 3 twin beds, and that is what my family needed. However, upon arrival, we found only 2 queen beds, and 3 twin beds. We wound up having to use a blow up mattress so everyone would have a bed. Also, most of the ligths had bulbs missing, the gas logs were out of gas and there was a water leak above the kitchen table. We think it came from the upstairs half bath. The linens were clean, but not enough for a family of 10. The house was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay in the Lake Lure area. We just feel the advertising is misleading.
Owner response:We have enjoyed all great reviews on our home from our guest , some in writing , some with a call or e-mail , and many leave a card on the table with kind words..We are addressing the ONE "not so great review" regarding a recent week-end stay, envolving an apparent party of ten...for the week-end.Of 13 reviews listed all are 5 star except for this one. The complaint about not having 3 queens: Our action taken was that we changed the number of queen beds listed to two , even though we have a sleeper sofa that is a Queen , we will not count that one...The leak , mentioned , has been addressed by our plumber...and the light bulbs that were burned out (4) have been replaced and extras left in the laundry...We also are changing our capacity for guest to "Sleeps Eight"....That way , if more than eight shows , they realize the couch , or sleeper sofa , must be utilized....The gas has been filled , and is and has always been on "auto fill with the gas company.."I am very sorry these guest was inconvienenced in any way..To clarify , we have 4 bedrooms. Two have queen beds. One has one twin bed , and one has two twins...If a party is staying a week or more, we can substite another queen for the two twins in that bedroom. Thank You, and know that you can call me , the owner , directly , at the number listed on VRBO..

We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin. Everything was clean and comfortable and there was plenty of room for family to visit for Thanksgiving. There is a great grocery store within just a few miles which was very convenient. This was our first visit to the area and we were impressed with the beautiful scenery. Enjoyed day trips to Asheville, Hendersonville, and Black Mountain, with amazing views along the drive. Loved the local craft shops and galleries and the many very warm, friendly shopkeepers! Of course we couldn't leave without climbing nearby Chimney Rock and hiking a bit... the many steps were a challenge, but well worth the effort ( and bragging rights) Marshall and Lori Jill were wonderful to rent from, very gracious and easygoing, we felt comfortable just giving them a call with any questions. Hope we have the opportunity to rent here again soon!

This home is beautiful and very well taken care of. We had a very relaxing and restful time. We enjoyed fishing. There is really nothing to do here, but fish and relax, which was fine with us.We seen 1 deer in our back yard and 3 more on the road leading to our house. The house is very roomy and the owner was really good to deal with.Check out a restaurant in rutherfordton, its a 20 minute drive, its Scoggins Seafood & Steaks. It's worth the drive.I would definetly recommend this home.

Had a great time- the cabin was perfect- everything we needed. We had cell service with ATT in the cabin, but almost nowhere else in Lake Lure. PERFECT! no distractions- We enjoyed going to the lake, rented boats, ate in the restaurants as well as cooked meals in the kitchen. Good grocery store close by- The road to the house is gravel. We had thought about taking the Harley or even bicycles- and I am very glad we didn't- as that wouldn't have worked at all. The road is steep and rough to the house. We look forward to coming back sometime.

I stayed here in August with my wife and two teenage daughters. The cabin is huge and beautiful! Lake Lure is very close and we also had a great time white water rafing about an hour north. The cabin is part of a gated community so very private and has both a lake and river for swimming and fishing. Caught enough fish for a cook out in only a few hours. The owners are very nice and their personal touch shows in the property. We will stay again on our next vacation to this area.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely, clean and spacious cabin. The owner met us the day we checked in to help with any questions. We love our trips to Lake Lure to get away, and this was a great base of operations.

We spent a week at this beautiful cabin in July 2010. It is very well maintained and very clean! We were able to enjoy our children and grandchildren for many days in a truely relaxing cabin in the woods. We spent time swimming in the lake, hiking in the woods, exploring the area, and shopping in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. If you are looking for a cabin in the woods for a really relaxing day, weekend, or week...don't look any further! This is it! You have found it!

We stayed here over Easter weekend and had a very relaxing time. Cabin is immaculately clean and well-maintained. We sat on the back deck, sipped coffee and looked at the stars at night. We slept with the windows open and listened to the crickets and birds. Took a picnic lunch down at the river, where the development has a natural area with rocks for the kids to climb on and picnic tables. One evening we drove up to Asheville, where there is a considerable amount of nightlife and urban vitality, and had an excellent meal at a fine restaurant there. Entire family, including our small dog, had a good time. We will definately return.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this cabin on the two occasions that I rented it. I came in the late fall / early winter and the temperatures were nice and the atmosphere was wonderful! I also stayed in late spring / early summer and the views were great and the weather was beautiful! This cabin is very comfortable, has lovely furnishings, an awesome jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom and plenty of space for my family. We made many memories here and will definitely come back. Also, the owner was very helpful about giving suggestions for activities for my family and answering any questions I had. I recommend Larkins for dinner during your stay - the food is very good.

Wonderful vacation! The "cabin" is great - very clean and lots of room! We have 3 boys and they loved the cabin as well as the area! There was plenty to do: fishing, swimming in the river as well as the lake, nature trails, you name it, this vacation home has it! The gated community is great! The proximity to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure was also excellant! Our boys wanted to move there! We look forward to many more vacations in the this wonderful cabin!

I have stayed here two separate times and it was just wonderful. The spring visit was great and as all the October visit. For a quiet and peaceful cabin that is tastefully furnished and clean, this is the one I will choose again. For nature lovers, it's a nice place to see all kinds of wildlife. Close by, there are are really good places to dine, golf, fish and hike.
