An historic house located in the town of Loveno, a hillside town above Menaggio. The house was built in 1643 and was the home to the Alessandro Volta family (the famous Italian scientist and inventor of Voltaic Battery). The interior is furnished with beautiful antique pieces which contribute to the atmosphere of this historic house. From the antique wooden dining table to the original artwork displayed on the walls, your stay here will be very memorable. The original ceramic floor tiles and beamed ceilings are all well maintained, retaining the original beauty of the house. The house is situated in a very quiet and tranquil area with private walled gardens, perfect for 'al fresco' dining.
The house has a living area of approx. 280 square meters. and is arranged in two partially separated buildings which are connected by a covered terraced walkway. In one side of the building is a fully fitted kitchen and a loft area above where there is a single bed. The other part of the house is arranged over three floors. The large living and dining area are on the ground floor. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other has two single beds. On the second floor, there is an attic room, with two double beds. The house has two bathrooms both with bathtub, basin, bidet and toilet.
This house really gives the visitor a taste of authentic Italian style living - in the historic house and the exquisite garden with seating, a BBQ and private areas for all of the family to enjoy. There is a parking space very close by. |
