The property also contains the Casita with its own private street entrance and rooftop terrace. The Casita is rented separately (please see VRBO listing 209115 for information and availability on the Casita).

The Casa is a large (over 4000 square feet), 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath, home with glorious colors, soaring ceilings and sumptuous furnishings. Beautiful local art which adorns every room in the house.

The Casa has three generous bedrooms each with its own private bath and beautiful traditional domed, red brick, "boveda" ceilings.

The second bedroom has a queen bed, comfortable sitting area, and a desk with a desktop computer and high-speed Internet access.

Both the Casa and Casita have phone systems which allow for toll free calling to the US and Canada and all rooms have wireless Internet access.

The modern fully equipped gormet kitchen has everything you need for preparing wonderful meals and for entertainingt. No need to "rough-it" at Casa Coronado. The kitchen has a full range of modern appliances including a dishwasher and a food disposal. The breakfast room which is located just off the kitchen also opens directly into the garden.

The beautiful formal dining area seats eight, and nearby is a comfortable casual area for watching television and entertaining. A half-bath is conveniently located just off the living room for your guests.

Our housekeeper comes in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to clean, change the linens and take care of the laundry. The property is managed by an English speaking property manager who is always on call to assist our guests.

San Miguel de Allende (SMA) is a beautifully restored 400 year old colonial silver town. SMA offers an extraordinary array of concerts, live theater, lectures and famous art institutes (Instituto Allende and Bellas Artes). Classes are offered in language, painting, sculpture, weaving, dance, photography, and ceramics to name a few. There is a wonderful English language library with the largest collection of books in English outside of Mexico City.

Weekly events are published in the bilingual newspaper, “Atencion”, each Friday.

Why the Owner Chose Centro Historico

San Miguel de Allende has added a new facet to our lives. While we love the year round temperate climate, the people and culture are what drew us to San Miguel. After living in the South (too hot and too humid), in California (we really don't much care for earthquakes), the Northeast (too congested), the Pacific Northwest (too wet), and currently residing in Minnesota (too cold),the temperate climate of San Miguel is "just right"! We thought about settling down in Arizona but gave up the idea when we realized that we would be trading too cold for too hot and that the whole area is just Minnesota with sand.

The Unique Benefits at this House

Our house is located in a friendly, safe, convienent neighborhood. Our Property Manager lives less than five minutes away and guests consistently comment on how friendly and helpful he is.

Warm and wonderful

Guest: Jean & Bob (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada)
Date of Stay: 01/12/11 Review Submitted: 03/25/11

A magnificent home, Casa Coronado has every convenience one would want for a comfortable, enjoyable stay in San Miguel de Allende. We stayed for 4 weeks during the months of January and February, 2011. We loved the home. We loved it's housekeeper and its managers. Each of them was helpful beyond the call of duty. With their help we entertained, on one occasion, rather lavishly, with great success. I was anxious to improve my ability in Spanish, and the housekeeper was patient as I practiced conversing with her. She taught me by gently correcting me. To say the house is large and luxurious is an understatement. The TV area in one corner of the huge living room downstairs is cozy, with comfortable seating for 4-5 people. There is satellite TV with a wide range of stations as well as a CD player with a stock some 20 or 30 movies. There are also book shelves with many good books. The main floor patio, accessible from both the kitchen and main dining room, is glorious. From the dining room, French doors may be opened onto the patio. The roof patio is great for lying in the sum. It is sparsely but adequately furnished for 3 or 4 people. Two of the three bedrooms upstairs are spacious and amply furnished. Both have large King-size comfortable beds and en-suites. The bed in the master bedroom is somewhat high, particularly if you are somewhat short in stature, and we are. Nonetheless, we managed The third bedroom is smaller. But it is also comfortable. It was easy to accommodate stay-over guests. Our ages are both in the high 70s. The stairwell leading to the 2nd floor, particularly for one of us, was a bit of a challenge, but the amenities of the house, the staff and the owners' efforts to make us comfortable rendered that challenge unimportant. Unless one is in pretty good physical shape, walking to the Jardin (central square) is a bit of trudge. But taxis are plentiful and cheap. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a taxi. We have no hesitation in recommending Casa Coronado.

Owner response:Thank you Bob and Jean! The review process has been very helpful to Lynn and I as we continue to make our home inviting for our guests. The house has two queen beds and one king (in the master). Perhaps we should add a step on each side of the master bed as it is a little high. We welcome you back any time and will pass along your kind words to Ana, Paco and Sue.

COMFORTABLE & COLORFUL "CASA CORONADO"

Guest: Tammy and Merrill (Scottsdale, Arizona)
Date of Stay: 02/09/11 Review Submitted: 02/21/11

We just returned after a wonderful week in San Miguel de Allende and stayed in the “Casa Coronado,” the lovely home of John and Lynn Manning. Their home has plenty of inside living space…actually more then the pictures illustrate, along with a stunning outdoor garden off the kitchen and dining room. Also offering a spectacular view from the private rooftop terrace, where we enjoyed the evening sunsets! It's totally prepared for your every need and very conveniently located for walking to all the sites, restaurants and Jardin. The caretaker and property manager Paco and Susanna were both very welcoming and full of helpful information to make sure that our week in San Miguel was memorable! Anna, the housekeeper, arrived every other morning with a big smile on her face to keep the designer décor in tip top shape! We highly recommend the “Casa Coronado” and thanks again John and Lynn for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home!

Owner response:Tammy & Merrill, Thank you for your kind comments! We would love to have you back anytime. Best regards, John & Lynn

Perfect S Miguel house for 3 couples or a family

Guest: KM (Sonoma, CA)
Date of Stay: 10/22/10 Review Submitted: 11/04/10

We've rented this house twice and will go back. Easy walk to the Jardin, very nice bi-lingual caretaker who is always available. Perfectly maintained, fresh and clean, secure, equipped with everything you could need. Quite spacious--3 bedrooms each w/bath. Cable TV. Huge living room w/fireplace, two large dining areas, great kitchen; private, pretty garden courtyard. For the amazingly low price, hard to beat this beautiful house. We'll rent it again even if it's just the two of us.

Owner response:Thank you Karen! We look forward to your next visit to our little town.

TRULY EXCEPTIONAL...

Guest: edna (houston, texas)
Date of Stay: 06/27/10 Review Submitted: 10/19/10

my daughter said it best:" CAN I STAY HERE FOREVER ? " yes...not only did i rent the casa & casita for over 2 months, i had numbers of guests visit intermittently during that time & they were all totally estatic ( more each day }...i had sent photos in advance to them, yet they were thrilled / overwhelmed on arrival...one man even got tears in his eyes & said he couldn't believe he was in such a wonderful home !...you CAN believe all the description john has written about their home THAT YOU CAN HAVE WITH JUST A PHONE CALL... I CAN HARDLY ENUMERATE ALL HE DID / HAD DONE FOR MY COMFORT : CASE IN POINT IS THAT I WAS SKITTISH ABOUT THE 3 STEPS UP FROM THE DINING ROOM (DOWN FRO THE KITCHEN) , AS THEY HAD NO HANDRAIL...IMMEDIATELY JOHN CALLED HIS CONTRACTOR IN SAN MIGUEL TO HAVE HIM CRAFT RAILS ON EITHER SIDE JUST FOR ME !!! HE EVEN PURCHASED A WONDERFUL NEW MATTRESS FOR THE CASITA FOR US !...IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ADEQUATELY COMMEND THE MANNINGS...THEY EVEN CALLED THROUGH-OUT OUR STAY TO CHECK TO SEE THAT ALL WAS PERFECT !!! and dear anna...she is so wonderful & delights in making pancakes & fruit or egg & potato or bean & bacon tacos at breakfast...i fell in love with her & invited her to join me on a jaunt to guanajuato for the day !...paco, the house manager made sure i had all the light i wanted in the kitchen for the cooking i love to do & come to tidy the garden...truly, the staff is excellent...WHAT A JOY I HAD GOING TO TE MARKET FOR FRESH FRUITS & VEGETABLES WITH ANNA OR ALONE... the spaces are beautiful...the 25 peso taxis are plentiful ( 30 pesos at night)...the restaurants, theatre, music festivals, film festivals, parades.SCHOOLS, CLASSES,daily walks to the jardin & all over are amazing & constant...the surrounding & historic towns are a marvel as well...& NOTHING CAN MATCH THE INCREDIBLE KINDNESS OF THE LOCAL SAN MIGUELLANS...THEY WELCOME GUESTS/VISITORS WITH OPEN ARMS & DRAW THEM INTO THEIR MAGICAL WORLD YOU CAN SEE, I COULD WRITE FOREVER ABOUT THE MANNINGS & THEIR GRACIOUSNESS & GENEROSITY...THRU THEM I DISCOVERED A WORLD OF BEAUTY & GRACE & THEY WERE NO SMALL PART OF IT, I CAN ASSURE YOU GO...AND GO TO CASA & CASITA CORONADO FOR A MEMORY THAT WILL LAST ALWAYS & WHICH YOU SHALL WANT TO REPEAT EACH YEAR...AS I INTEND TO DO

Owner response:Thank you Edna, we look froward to your return visit! John & Lynn

Absolutely Wonderful !

Guest: Diane and Andy (Amelia Island, Florida, U.S.A.)
Date of Stay: 05/16/10 Review Submitted: 06/12/10

Casa Coronado was all that was promised and MORE ! Clearly, a great deal of thought and effort has gone into making this lovely casa a very special place to stay. The owners, John and Lynn, went way out of their way to make our stay as memorable as possible. We enjoyed being there so much that sometimes we were reluctant to leave the casa to explore San Miguel ! There are many special spaces where guests can relax in this spacious, well-appointed property. The property was clean, private and well maintained. There were many extras, such as a garage, a laundry room ... and a ping-pong room ! The caretaker and property manager is a delight to be with: welcoming, informative and competent. The location is great, being far enough away to avoid some of the noisier aspects of the Jardin "life", yet well within easy reach of everything. Our stay at Casa Coronado made our trip to San Miguel even more memorable. We have already made plans to return. The owners thoughtfully provided some excellent suggestions as to restaurants... including their favorite little, out of the way places and market spots. Try them ! Don't be afraid to eat "locally" .... San Miguel is a very clean, safe place and the people are friendly and gracious. We left feeling we had made new friends and could not wait to return.

What a terrific home this is! It's roomy, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and well-cared for. Four of us were there for 2 weeks in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We walked everywhere to eat, explore, and shop in the central area and loved it. It's also an easy walk to the bus station. I would definitely stay here again!

Casa Coronado is a very beautiful, comfortable, spacious and thoughtfully appointed home, furnished in rich colors and charming art pieces. I was lucky to find and purchase this home at a charity auction in San Diego. It was a win-win from the start! Inviting several girlfriends - all who shared my enthusiasm and desire to see San Miguel, we planned our trip. Our enjoyment and appreciation of the area and of Casa Coronado was unanimous - WE LOVED IT! The location was ideal; the home was lovely and exactly as promised in the pictures and the experience was all we hoped it would be. Without question, we will return.

We loved this house so much that we rarely went out for dinner. The two large dining tables and the patio table gave us various delightful venues for eating. Every meal at Casa Coronada was fun! The bedrooms and individual bathrooms were just terrific. Such privacy! Our stay there could not have been better, and we would not hesitate to enjoy this "home away from home" again.
