You will find one of the best views of volcanoes Agua and Fuego in all of Antigua from this property. Built in 2007, this home has all the modern conveniences, but also the charm of a much older colonial home. Although it's a short walk to the center of Antigua, you will feel miles (and years!) away from the hustle and bustle in the beautiful courtyard garden, built around a fountain and bucaro. This designer home features furnishings from local artisans and around the world.
The gardener and housekeeper both come in twice a week. The housekeeper's husband speaks excellent English and has worked in the hospitality industry in Antigua. He will stop by periodically to offer assistance. Trinidad is available to cook for you, but those arrangements would be made privately with her.
The house is kid-friendly, but not child-proof! It does contain some valuable art and furnishings.

This was our second rental. The owner is great to deal with. The location is outstanding,view are great,it's a short walk to town and adjacent to a nice restaurant. The property is lovely, well equiped and well maintained. The caretaker is very helpful and knowlegeable. Hot shower water is tricky. Get instructions. Recommended! (I'm a former airline employee and am picky)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks Herb! I'm taking signs down when I go next week about the hot water! In case people are wondering, we have an on-demand hot water heater which can be baffling if you are not used to it. I've grown to love it, though; you never run out of hot water!!!

My husband and I simply loved the house! It is spacious and has all the convenience we're used to in our own home, yet it's nestled into Guatemala. The house is wonderfully decorated with local art - we loved exploring every room to see what is in there. Antigua is a great town, but we could have stayed just at the house and had a great time. Though we went there for a romantic vacation, we're strongly thinking of going down again this year with our toddlers. We hiked Mount Pacaya and were able to walk right up to the flowing lava! Antigua has incredible restaurants and is quite cheap for Americans.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
