Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2005
We are based in St. Louis. Our daughter, her husband and our two grandchildren are in Gainesville FL. Our business requires we travel, luckily as we are able to visit!
Why the Owner Chose Cedar Key
We love Cedar Key. After visiting Cedar Key for over 5 years, we found the perfect property for us.
Our cottage has room and access for a small boat, and we love to sail-small boats-Cedar Key is very tide dependent!
We are less than an hour from Gainesville, home of the University of Florida. It is an easy drive to see our family, attend cultural events, or shop and the drive home gives us time to slow down to "Island Time".
Cedar Key is home to friendly people, small shops and some of Florida's best seafood.
There is a small dock where we can tie up for those "oh honey I forgot the extra sunblock", or when we know the tides are not quite to our timing.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Only twelve blocks to anywhere, we can bike, walk, stroll, amble, or if it is a really lazy day, we can rent a golf cart. We are six block to the pocket park on Goose Cove; watching the shore birds is only a five minute mini trip. Our home is closer to the back waters, the marsh wild life viewing is superb from either screen porch. We are in the middle of the Cedar Keys National Bird Refuge.
