Why the Owner Chose Nags Head
My brother Tom built this home. He lived and surfed on this beach for over 30 years. We have a very sentimental attachment to this home and will always call it 'Tom's house'.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We have a large variety of movies for the whole family. We have a seperate kids area in a loft where there is a futon (that flips out to an additional full size bed), a small tv that you are able to hook up playstation, Xbox or WII. A radio that hooks up IPOD so you can enjoy your favorite music. Our home is full of games, movies and puzzles. It is small and cozy with large decks for enjoying cooking on the grill or just rocking in the rocking chair. It is a short 10 minute walk to the beach and about a 1 1/2 mile hike through the park to the sound. We really enjoy going to Carova to see the wild horses.

Just spent the week at this lovely house. The decode is phenomenal, so cute and inviting. Loved the loft and the layout of the house. Spent a lot of time sitting out om the porch, so quiet amd peaceful. Very conveniently located in a great neighborhood. Made for a great vacation, would definitely rent again!

My friends and I are 3 older women and we were looking for a place with easy access, we don't need handicap but did want at least 2 bedrms. on the first floor, two of us have canes. I misunderstood when the owner described the rental as having 1 full bedroom on the first floor and the second bedrm. as being a room with two twin beds , and also a sleeping loft.. The second bedrm. wasn't a room at all , nor was it on the first floor, it was a part of the sleeping loft and up a flight of steps which meant going down steps to the bathroom when needed during the nite. Otherwise the cottage was lovely, very peaceful and well cared for with a few minor problems, the bathroom door and some lights and a ceiling fan. I wouldn't hesitate to advise younger friends to rent this place. It was very close to many, many activities and wonderful restaurants. Not far from a public beach with lifeguards and being on a dead end street meant no through traffic. Very quiet and safe. A lovely outdoor patio area.

We had a lovely week at Pam's cabin...we stayed there the week of August 13. It was just as described...my husband loved it...we were not at the beach with all the "craziness" he said...we could come home in the evening and we really did feel at home! We would recommend this on to anyone who asks where to stay in Nag's Head! We plan to come again...especially since we can bring our pets...that was an additional benefit. We didn't have any laundry when we came home, due to the washer and dryer...we left the detergent and fabric softener for the next guest! The property was also very clean...inside and out. We enjoyed looking at Tom's photo and imagining what he was like! There is a splendid coffee shop across the street, too...with grocery stores (Food Lion and Harris Teeter) as well as a Domino's Pizza...neighborhood was quiet and the couple of neighbors who we met were quite friendly. Now, we are praying Hurricane Irene doesn't do lots of damage to this cute cottage.
Owner response:Thank you for the great review. We hope you stay with us again!

The house was exactly as we expected and the location was wonderful. We could very easily walk or drive the car to the beach. The house was a perfect location, not too much traffic but close to the roads for traveling. I would recommend this house to anyone interested in a beach get away vacation. There was lots of places to eat and you did not have to travel far. The beach was not crowded even during the July 4th holiday timing. There were lots of outdoor activities for the two young children we had. The property was very clean and worked out well, because we could cook for many meals and did not have to go out each day.
Owner response:Thank you so much! We are so glad you had a great time. Thank you for such a nice review.

Great Stay at 'Tom's Place'

Adorable little house, close to everything. Rental was exactly as described, there were no unexpected surprises. It was our first visit to Nags Head to see our daughter run in the Pirates Cove Marathon. The remnants of a nor'easter left the ocean beautifully, wicked and wild, yet allowed us to enjoy the race, the awesome sand dunes and hiking trails. Unfortunately we were unable to see the wild horses due to the weather. Next Time. I would definitely stay here again when I come to Nags Head. It isn't ocean front, nor is the price. With the easy and abundant access to the beach, we were fine with being off the beaten path. A great value. Clean, felt like home. Thanks Pam & Kevin.

My husband and I stayed here with our dogs for a spur of the moment fall get-away. Very cute and well maintained--nice open living space. Some upgrades have been done since it was built but it has everything you need--W/D, D/W and wonderful shower. This cottage has super decks and some cool handmade furniture --is located in the middle of everything but once you turn off the main road, you are in a friendly neighborhood with quiet streets to ride bikes on.

This wonderful little cottage is in a perfect location for sight-seeing, and only a short drive to the nearest beach access. We rented it as a last minute beach getaway and loved it! One couple took the loft bedroom and set up a pack n' play for their 9 month old daughter. The other couple took the bedroom downstairs. It was the perfect size house for our families. We do recommend renting with people that you know fairly well...only having one bathroom gets personal...but it's do-able with the right attitude! This cottage is clean, well-kept, and well-loved by its owners. Can't wait to stay there again!

We really enjoyed our stay in Nags Head at this adorable beach cottage! It was the perfect size for our small group. The house was very clean and had all the amenities you would need for a week-long stay. We loved the beachy decor, laid back deck/BBQ area, and especially the swing chair and hammock! The location was great...we liked the fact that the neighborhood was very quiet and tucked away from all the hustle and bustle, yet very close to everything. Even the neighbors were super nice and had true southern hospitality. We bought kites and went kite flying on the huge dunes at Jockey's Ridge park, which was right down the street. We also booked a fishing charter with Cpt. Mike at fishonobx and had a great time out on the water. The beaches were very clean and full of gorgeous shells! Bring your boogie board! Best of all, we relaxed!! We loved Tom's House and his laid back surfer spirit.

My husband and I stayed in this sweet little cottage in the middle of everything. However, once you turn off of the main road you find yourself in a quiet residential neighborhood. It was very clean, and well maintained, The atmosphere was relaxing and healing to my soul. We enjoyed the local restaurants, and the fishing at Nags Head Pier as well. So pack your sunscreen, your gonna love it! Linda T.
