This apartment is perfect for your visit to Berlin!! The location could not be any better - 2 blocks to the S-Bahn and many shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Christa and Elias were very helpful in directing us to great restaurants, grocery stores and activities. The apartment is so close to the Tiergarten and we easily walked to many of the historic sites. As for the apartment itself - it is in a very safe, quiet neighborhood. It has everything you need, all inclusive, clean, bright and plenty of space. The apartment complex is quiet. Christa and Elias are intelligent, educated, and friendly, yet they are not intrusive, only engaging with us when we asked. We felt like "locals" during our week long stay. This apartment is a great value and we would stay here again if we return to Berlin.

We stayed here for 8 nights and loved every minute in Berlin. Like everyone else says, the apartment is lovely, quiet and well set-up, and Elias and Christa are wonderful hosts. They included lots of little thoughtful touches to make us feel completely at home including some nice surprises. You don't need to bring Berlin travel books since they have them all as well as all sorts of maps. The location is very close to the Spree river along which you can walk forever. The S Bellevue station is minutes away with great access to all parts of Berlin. The main train station is one stop away. The Tiergarten is just across the river foot bridge. Wi-Fi was great to plan our days and to locate sights. All the five star reviews are well deserved. We would definitely stay here again and will tell any friends traveling to Berlin about it. Thank you Christa and Elias

Elias and Christa were particularly helpful and generous with their time and their advice when we first arrived and having them nearby was reassuring, although they were never intrusive. The apartment is very well appointed with a comfortable and quiet bedroom; a sparkling clean, white-tiled bathroom with plenty of room, and a really good funtional kitchen / living room area. Access was easy with a minimal flight of stairs, and the apartment felt quite secure in a fairly quiet neighbourhood that was readily accessible to the metro and to convenience shops (general store and specialist bakery) within a few minutes walking only. The fact that the location is right close by the Tiergarten Parklands makes it especially appealing to anyone who appreciates a natural setting in a big city environment.

Our stay here was a memorable exerience largely because everything is so clean and beautifully set up in the apt. and very well organized . The hosts, Elias and Christa, are friendly and helpful. The S Bahn was a challenge on the weekend but fine during the week. We relaxed in the apt., saw many sites, enjoyed the cultural events, made our own breakfasts in the well appointed kitchen, We felt we just blended in with the local community. Even had my haircut next door on Calvinstrasse. We felt the apt. was one of the big highlights of our visit. The people we met always tried to help us and speak English also. Barb and Paul

We were privileged to join the growing band of fans (several, like us, from Australia) of Elias and Christa as perfect hosts and founts of useful local information and background to this fascinating city. Of Paris, Munich and Berlin, Berlin was the one we left after a week with most unfinished business; there was so much to see, both old and especially new. Given its tumultuous recent history, we were left in awe of how quickly the city has coped with the aftermath of its several reversesh. We chose Berlin as a city to visit, based to a great extent on Matt Frei's BBC documentaries, much of which can be found on YouTube at http://goo.gl/xKECh. In that choice, and our accommodation choice, we could not have been more well pleased. Elias and Christra's little gifts were so touching and welcoming. The final night of our European odyssey was spent in a business type hotel in Brussels and we both agreed there is no contest between vrbo-ing and hotels when it comes to even short stays. No matter how well appointed hotels are, they are not "home". Christa and Elias have devoted so much thought into making the apartment a comfortable place for any travellers, with every little detail supplied. It is close to Berlin's wonderful train system, as well as an excellent supermarket. We will most certainly be recommending the apartment to family and friends.

We stayed here for 3 weeks in May 2011. Elias and Christa have provided an excellent home away from home. They are friendly and were immediately helpful with any questions we had, even helping us find the place to buy Bundesliga (football) league game tickets and information on various transit passes. The apartment is well appointed, comfortable and was very quiet. The location is excellent, near the river and the S-Bahn station so getting around Berlin is a snap. There have been many positive things said in previous reviews. I think they are all true. We would definitely stay here again.

we stayed in berlin for two weeks at the beinnig of the spring. being able to have some sort of homely life in such a long saty was important to us. the apt is well fitted for a couple and allowed us to cook our own meals most of the time. we were also very lucky: the weather was perfect and so we were able to enjoy the area close to the apt every morning, shopping, having a capuccino or just walking around. it is a lovely neighborhood. the apt is almost over the river and you can walk through the tiergarten or along the banks of the river and be in the center of this wonderful city in less than 20'. or just walk one block and jump into berlin's public transportation system. the apt is two s bahn stations both ways from the biggest east and west train, subway and bus hubs in berlin. what else is there to say? we were warmly greeted when arriving and every thing in the apt worked well.

This apartment is located in a pleasant area of Berlin and 3/4 minutes from the S_Bahn. The rooms are light and spacious, tastefully decorated and furnished and very comfortable. The property was clean and well maintained and the kitchen and bathroom very well equipped. The information supplied by the owners, during the booking process and in the apartment itself was very helpful. The owners were most welcoming and we would recommend this property to other people. It would however, probably not be suitable for wheel chair users.

This is a wonderful apartment in nice building which is very convenient to all parts of Berlin with the S-bahn stop Bellevue being only 5 minutes away. It's well equipped, comfortable and cosy, and the owners are very generous and helpful, and happy to provide extra assistance when it is needed. The apartment rental cost is excellent value and I would highly recommend it for one or two people.

We absolutely adored this little "gem" and the owners are some of the most fantastic people you could ever ask for! We felt right at home, it was very clean, very well equipped with anything you needed to make a meal with, lots of information on Berlin and area as well as a nicely stocked bookshelf. Christa & Elias went out of their way to welcome us, provided us with whatever we needed and offers of articles with our luggage being lost! We are hoping to visit Berlin in the spring and we will definately try to rent the apartment again if we can!! Right from when we started making inquiries about the listing and while booking it went so smoothly, there was no stress what so ever! What is advertised in their listing is all true, it was just simply an amazing place with Amazing owners:) Thank you Christa & Elias:)
Owner response:Michelle & Steve, we sincerely appreciate the feedback that you gave us and look forward to hosting you anytime you want to visit Berlin again. Thank you so much ! Elias & Christa

We stayed in this apartment for a couple of weeks last summer. The owner's are lovely people who will assist you with any questions and help you make your stay comfortable. The location is excellent. The S-Bahn is nearby as well as a variety of restaurants. The supermarket is also nearby (Kaisers). The Tiergarten is within walking distance and we walked to the Reichstag from the apartment. It is a small apartment (maid's apartment) that is attached to the owner's apartment. This wasn't clear to us from the description of the apartment. You will have your own entrance which is separate from the owner's entrance. There is a door separating the apartments and the owner's are very respectful of your privacy. The apartment house opens onto a courtyard. There was some noise from children (child) early in the morning but otherwise it is very quiet. There is no air conditioning or screens on the windows so there were bugs entering the apartment. It is clean and well-maintained. The owners provided us with bottled water and replenished the supply upon request. The apartment is on a courtyard (backyard) but it is not an area available for use by the apartment for recreation (this was not clear to me from the description - I thought we could sit out in the backyard). It is an area for garbage cans/recycling and bicycles and for entering and exiting the apartment. Overall: small apartment: living room and kitchen are one small room and bedroom is small, clean, safe location, nearby to transportation and park, friendly and helpful owners. Owners didn't take a deposit but trusted us which was nice.

The apartment was terrific and we really appreciated the space and the presentation of each room. The location of the apartment was perfect for transport, shopping and then for peace and quiet after a hard day in the city. Plenty to do in Berlin and we felt at home in the apartment and would certainly come back if we return to Berlin. Oroo!

Christa and Elias are gracious hosts and have a truly beautiful and comfortable apartment. The location is perfect (very near S-Bahn and U-Bahn but also within walking distance of all major attractions). The accomodations were spotless: bathroom was super clean; all linens and towels were fresh; kitchen also super clean. Location is very quiet. We stayed 9 nights and slept well every single night. Apartment includes many maps, guidebooks, and magazines to help make your Berlin stay a good one. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING NEGATIVE about this vacation stay. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. If we return to Berlin, we will stay here again!

Located on a quiet street, it had everything we needed. The welcome chocolates and drinks topped it off as well. We have spent 4 very good days in Berlin. The appartment is very confortable, very well situated and the owner very kind. It was also very useful all the touristic information available in the appartment. We had only a small inconvenience connected with different uses in Germany and Portugal and that is that in Portugal, all rooms must have the possibility to be completed dark even during the day. That is not the case in Germany and therefore, very early in the morning, we could not sleep due to the light. However, this was not a really problem to spend a very nice time in Berlin and in the appartment. We have no doubts to recommend it to our friends and to go stay there next time that we will go to Berlin.

We spent nine days in Elias and Christa's apartment in Berlin and hope to stay there again. It is a delightful apartment with all the essentials. It was so nice to have coffee, bottled water and even a bottle of wine and beer to welcome us. The apartment is well located, a bakery, restaurants, and a market close by. You can walk to public transportation in less than 5 minutes. We used the tram to visit all of Berlin. We also loved walking in the Tiergarten, a 30 minute walk to the Brandenburg Gate. In my travels through Europe I tend to stay in each European city for at least 2-3 weeks on each visit. I have, therefore, been staying in short term leased apartments a lot. I must say that this has been, by far, one of the best accommodations I’ve stayed in. Thanks, Elias and Christa, for opening part of your wonderful apartment and showering your hospitality on us weary travelers. The apartment is beautiful, with high ceilings, tasteful deco, comfortable furnishings and a wonderful sense of quiet and security. It provided me with a good base for exploring Berlin and for wandering onto the banks of the Spree and into the beautiful Tiergarten. The apartment is a definite gem and value for money.

Thanks for the use of your lovely little apartment. After surfing the net, this was the best value for money we had and we got much more than we expected. With all the extras ( wine, tea, coffee etc. ) you provide, this is so much better than any hotel would provide. We will definately recommend you to anyone coming to Berlin. To first time visitors, we would also recommend Fat Tire Bike Tours. An excellent all-in-one tour where you can easily and quickly find the sights you want to see in more detail. The perfect apartment in the perfect part of town ! Thanks again
